Then there's Popo, who's many times stronger, than Goku, which has just killed Piccolo. Then there's Kami, who's as much times stronger than Popo, as Popo stronger than Goku.
After time skip we've got Goku, who's much more stronger, than Kami and Piccolo, who's going toe to toe with Goku.
AND THEN, in Z, turn's out, that heroes are in 400s and their first and weakest adversary, Raditz, is at 1400. It's 3,5 times more of those ascended-above-gods warriors from DB.
English dub is so st,upid tbh… they all shocked cause he say he is kame🤣 wtf is even kame for them at that time? He couldve said he is a banana instead… reaction would be the same😂

I think the main reason why they are shocked is because Kami means God in japanese. So Goku is basically telling them that the guy who looked like Piccolo and got sealed up was god himself.

Yup, in my local dub (Danish) Kami’s name was simply God (or “gud”), so the namedrop hit hard, especially back when Korin first told Goku to ascend above the tower to ‘heaven’ where ‘God’ resides. Felt like Goku had become larger than life :D
About the clothing of piccolo: I dont think his clothing is weighted at this point. If i remember correctly he or Goku mentions something about him copying Gokus weighted clothes after this battle(during the first few episodes of Z, when they fought Raditz together)
Goku is surprised that Piccolo also trains by wearing heavy stuff but doesn't say anything about it being a copy of Goku. So either your right and he started wearing weighted clothes after this tournament or he did the whole time. Keeping in mind that Goku got the idea from Kami who has a very similar fighting style to Piccolo so its possible that Piccolo had the idea himself. He even states how similar his and Goku's fighting styles are in this tournament which supports the weighted stuff being a trait of their style. Master Roshi also trains in the same way so it's not like kami was the first to come up with it anyway.

Before we begin: Reincarnation is simply when your soul is moved into another body giving that body life. Some who have been reincarnated can remember their past lives, especially the faster the soul has been reincarnated into a different body.
If you're pretty far in One Piece and know who Big Mom is, she has the power to manipulate souls (removing them from bodies either entirely or bit by bit, picking out years of life to shorten, or putting them in other bodies or objects to bring them to life, etc.).
The Nameless Namekian that came to Earth many years ago learned how to manipulate his own soul and filtered the evil out of it and expelled it from his body. Somehow, another body looking exactly like his own was cloned and the evil part of the soul that expelled out was put into that body and King Piccolo was born. (It's likely the Nameless Namekian created that body, but I'm not sure why, he could have trapped the evil part of his soul in a jar or something and put it away.)
King Piccolo created an egg within himself as part of his Namekian biology (This is how Namekians reproduce, they are asexual beings just as slugs on Earth; Namekians are just slug people).
Piccolo transferred his entire soul into the egg he created which results in him reincarnating himself into a younger body (which I find interesting because he wanted the Dragon Balls so bad to wish to become younger when he could have just reincarnated himself from the getgo, but maybe it was because he didn't want to wait to rule the world).
Being that Junior's entire soul once belonged to King Piccolo, Piccolo has all of his father's memories and there are some examples to prove this:
In this episode, Junior starts talking about how Goku pretty much always meddles in his way and talked about their fight from 3 years ago. In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Piccolo gets mistaken by Gamma 2 to be King Piccolo in which replies that he used to be (not that King Piccolo was his father).
From King Piccolo's perspective, Junior is his son, but from Piccolo's perspective, he IS King Piccolo reborn which is why he still calls himself Piccolo. So it's kind of interesting if you think about it seeing Piccolo's relationship with Gohan and everyone after we've seen the terrible chaos he brought upon the world centuries ago.
Also, it is extremely likely that all Namekians have the memories of their parent and that's why they are so knowledgeable about the universe and why they are so close to the gods. They likely have memories from the first time their race was created.

It seems that the original Piccolo could not regenerate from such a wound like Piccolo Junior who he can regenerate from everything as long as he has his head intact on his body.
If that was the case, he would've survived Nappa's blast when he saved Gohan.

Kami literally means God. This is hard to convey in a dub aired in a christian country especially, so they do it like this
Kami is japanese for god. In this point of time his name was taken literally. Imagine somebody told you the guy you fought before IS GOD and then the self proclaimed Devil captures him in a bottle. If you look at it like that it makes total sense that everybody is shook by this revelation
8:25, because he's a direct reincarnation, he has King Piccolo's memories, but he's a new guy, with free will. Unlike Jr. K. Piccolo was PURE evil, and didn't have that free will/choice to BE good, but as a recycled soul ( of sorts ), he can CHOOSE to be good, like any normal person. ( we all know that by now), he just retains KP's link to Kami.
Imagine that the bottle broke when Piccolo swallowed it, Piccolo and Kami would merge, and the early portion of "Z" would be a different story haha

It is technically a copy of himself, same essence means same will, consciousness, memories.
The clear give away is that when King Piccolo ''died'', Kami didn't die. It has already been said they share the same fate, if 1 dies, the other dies. To put it shortly, he legit made a backup copy of himself, and the only way for him to do that at that moment was with an egg, which then needs to grow etc. It is referred to as his son or Jr, because its a new being or body that needs to develop, but its the same Piccolo. Might be reading too much into it, but it might also explain why King Piccolo body just exploded after he launched the egg. There was no reason for him to explode, except that 2 Piccolos can't exist at once.
Or when he died he releassed all his stored energy
@@Jackrost01 Thing is nowhere else, ever, when a Namekian dies, it ''releases its energy'', their body remains there. Meanwhile King Piccolo is the only one we see duplicate himself completely and then the original body gets destroyed.

@@Jackrost01 True, it most likely was for that, but it ended up making sense later on and was consistent with the rest of the anime, but only if we take it as there not being able to be 2 Piccolos. And this wouldn't be the same as time travel and having 2 of the same characters from different timelines. Piccolo is 2 being split in 2 in that same timeline, pure evil and pure good. A balance needs to be kept.

Piccolo only starts wearing heavy clothes after this fight. Hence to why Goky gets surprised by that when they confront Raditz.
You know, I NEVER understood why Piccolo needed to win the tournament. Im only just now realizing he didn't. He did the whole thing for fun and because he had a personal vendetta against Goku. Only Goku felt the need to win. Piccolo didn't try again after he healed because he knew Goku was stronger, he proved that.
We can also see that Piccolo Jr. was very different from this point because he respected the tournament enough to follow it's rules, and Demon King Piccolo HATED Martial Artists.
I think he just competed to make sure he didn't alert the other martial artists until he knew they weren't a threat to him

16:30 It's confirmed by original translations that Goku & Piccolo are just warming up here. So crazy! It shows just how much stronger they are from Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha. Not even Tien would last a few seconds in this fight.

It's really too bad alot of us watched z first (including me) too watch the development in real time instead of more or less knowing the outcome
It's even worse when so many only watched DBZ or Super and never watched OG DB.
I started off with DBZ because it was broadcast on Toonami in the early days of the anime wave. Before that I had to special order VHS tapes just to watch something like Akira. Now there's digital download and people just want the latest thing.
