Okay.... who ever voiced Spock deserves a cookie
I'd say 90-95%, but quite good.
You do hear a noticeable difference but it's very good.
@@danielseelye6005 90-95% feels like the right amount though, a perfect voice copy would feel wrong. Like Tarkin and Young Leia appearing in Rogue One.
Could it possibly be an A.I. rendering of Leonard Nimoy's voice? I have heard A.I. rendering of star's voices as being so close to the original actor, but I am not certain of this!
Piotr Michael also deserves a raktajino
Whoever voiced Spock deserves an award, he sounds incredibly close to Leonard Nimoy!
something tells me they used a voice simulator like they used for Vader after James earl Jones stepped down
@@edgarbrooks7695 God I hope not. Though you could check the credits.
@@samwill7259 the game did only come out this year and he's been dead a bit so most likely voice simulator or a voice actor who is really good at mimicking others
@@edgarbrooks7695 Nope, people checked the credits. It's a voice double, thank god.
@@samwill7259wow! The double really sounds like him. It’s pretty close!
The "Last Time" Recap scenes are awesome. All that's missing is Majel Barrett's computer voice....
That soothing water is the real prize. 😂
Mmmm, soothing.
34:38 Rick: "I hope the Captain turns out to be a decent guy."
Me: "Uh, Rick, make sure you're on good terms with the Doc. Just saying, brother."
"Clearly the Hotari have been exploited in this relationship."
" -we don't know that! "
The most British response possible.
Right that's why they gave them warp tech and ships and other tech. Making their lives much better. They all had employment opportunities in many areas. Ungrateful space hobgoblins
Forget Best of Both Worlds Part One. This has the best cliffhanger in all of Star Trek - the water is mighty soothing!
43:52 - 49:49 The dialogue between the Hotari Queen and Jara is so classic Trekkish. And so were her answers to the Queen's questions. Kudos for the game writers, they must've browsed through dozens of TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY scripts to come up with this dialogue 🖖🖖
Wow, you can really see how kirk rubbed off on spock when he starts talking about unofficial capacity
this was a entertaining game. The combat is janky AF but everything else just pulls you in, What a great ride this game was. I finished it in one play through ( lots of breaks ). total game time was around 11-12 hours but it took me 14 to finish it because of IRL stuff like needing to eat drink and use the rest room not to mention just getting up to get the blood flowing back out of my legs. lol
12:30 the Tractor Beam isn't a DUTY STATION? Captain: "get a tractor on that ship before the crash!" "Yessir, as soon as we get one of the engineers hip deep in something else to run all the way over to the tractor control panel, pop the control panel from it's stored location, and warm up the tractor coils. We should have a tractor on that ship in about forty five seconds or so!"
The same way computer voice of the 'Enterprise' and 'Enterprise-D' warned that the ship will self-destruct in 20 seconds yet all the actions of the TOS and TNG crew to stop the self-destruct took more than 60 seconds. Kudos for the game-writers for replicating this 😄😃
I... The Hotari look like civilized Orcs. That gets thrown around a lot for one species or another. But these guys really do.
The klingons are space orcs these are space hobgoblins
@@stevemcqueen7735 yea the look of Tylas really reminded me of spider-man goblin theme villains...especially the headgear she wore😂
Enjoy watching "Resurgence" very much. I think it's main plot and storyline is way better than most of the "Star Trek" series in production today (except for SNW and Terry Matalas's produced "Picard" Season 3)
2:26 - 3:06 Is Penny Johnson Jerald (Dr Claire Finn from "The Orville" and Cassidy Yates from DS9) voicing Dr Duval? Her voice sounds so familiar 😉
Its the same actress that voiced Cere in the Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor games. I had to look it up because certain it was her and I was right.
@@generalmehk Thanks for the info, appreciate it 🖖🖖
i'd have said " but you are still a legend to us"
Strange that Spock's shuttle is from Excelsior... but do love the name of Greyson.. Amanda's surname
After seeing last week's episode, I bought the game and played the heck out of it, I played it from start to finish a few times. Now I am going to enjoy watching you go through it, I may know how yours ends, but I am looking forward to how you get there.
"Resurgence's" plot and storyline is way better than most of the "Star Trek" series in production today (except for SNW and Terry Matalas's produced "Picard" S3)
@@LGranthamsHeirProdigy is great too. And Lower Decks. And STO. And who doesn’t like Admiral Vance and Zora? Does everything have to be a contest? I’m loving Resurgence too
5:50 - 6:30 Why is it Bedrosian always tailing Jara wherever she goes? Is it because she has a crush on Jara in a more intimate way? Her eyebrow at 6:28 is telling 😊
When she had the gurlcrush on Jara in the very furst dialogue scene on the bridge, I hoped the two of them could become a thing later. :)
@@MatthewBluefox We'll see how it goes between the two of them as this series continues 🖖
I tend to side with the Hotari as well. It's their resource. They should have a say in how it's managed. And they provide the bulk of the workforce. The Alydians may have helped them get to where they are, and may still offer some value. but if the arrangement is due for renegotiation, then so be it.
It's too bad that... (bit of a spoiler warning here)
None of that is going to matter much longer, because the plot is going to take a massive left turn very soon. Where they went was still entertaining, but this whole plot thread just seems to go back to nowhere.
That water sure is soothing
What is it with Starfleet doctors and just being like...the most BASED person on board at all times?
They see the worse things most of the time
Robotic animation and loading issues aside, this was the best Star Trek game I've played in a long time. The writing was superb, and the variety of Trek activities was satisfying. I hope we get more like this. I would love to see Quantic Dream take on a Star Trek game.
Gotta give them credit, it's a nice fountain...
wow perfect timing, I just finished watching eps 1
For the love of Spock! What a voice. :)
If this is along the lines of a Taletell game (I know its not, but IIRC it is made by many of the same game devs forming a different company), and I realize you may have had all of these already recorded, but in case your still playing the game, sometimes not saying anything and letting the timer run out, is an actual/active dialog choice.
Thanks for adding subtitles. :)
Soothing water is soothing.
I have been looking forward to this!
39:05 “Oh you can, just very very slowly.”😂
enjoying this a lot more than whatever Picard was, lol, looking forward to the next episode 👍
27:40 "good shuttle" XD ... it don't matter what century it is ..... this is the human condition
5:28 - 5:38 One plothole of the game: Later Jara led the "Resolute" crew to repel a boarding party and then led a space battle against the main baddie that must've lasted for hours. How come she didn't fall ill and nearly died due to a lack of deuredium in her bloodstream during this period?
I think the bigger plothole is why her levels dropped so extremely fast the first time, because i doubt that she needs several refills a day.
@@Stinkehund Right. And why does she need a refill after leading her crew to secure their ship from the biostorm compares to when she battles the alien baddie both inside the ship and then in space. The latter must've been more exhausting for her.
Maybe they gave her like, an insulin pump or something off screen.
Or the time passed for the first time was longer than it seemed.
Great story telling
The hour went by so quick
Ok, there are such rules as not mixing work and relationship aboard a starship. Specially if the person turns out a traitor...
[SPOILER] She didn't betray Starfleet. An alien takes over her body and identity, then launches an assault on the 'Resolute' and her former crewmates.
Shuttlecraft Grayson - named after Spock's birth mother. Nice touch.
Petty Officer? I am pleased to see an Enlisted man in Star Trek.. who is not Miles O'Brien. Love the man but he should not be the only Enlisted man or NCO in Starfleet.
Love to see PTO Carlos Diaz and Nelly Edsillar as main characters POV in "Resurgence." Plus they have a whole host of other NPC enlistees (including PTO Maris) featured on the game. Finally the writers recognizes that it is the enlisted crew who did much of the grunt work running a Starfleet vessel and fixing it when something goes wrong, not to mention they're the ones fighting and dying whenever the ship is being invaded by an alien baddie.
they had regular crewmen in TOS
@@stevemcqueen7735 Also called "the redshirts," right?
@@LGranthamsHeir not necessarily. There was O'Riely who was going to blow up the ship from engineering and other instances. But trek mainly worries about the officiers
I think most people would consider the possibility of free floating in space to being preferable to getting grape shotted by debries. That's what she means by 'better options'. You're actually the first person I've watched that took the explosive route. I think the only thing that really changes is crew attitude. So far it looks like you've gained the most positives at the cost of the Doctor.
There's alot of full rank commanders on such a small ship.
I mean there were multiple captains on the Enterprise A
This is being really entertaining so far. :)
Oh god the actual dating sim dialogue Lmfao
There is a system patrol mission in STO that is very similar to this scenario. You have to mediate peace between two species over the use of a moon.
This is more entertaining than all of JJ Abrams ST, Discovery, and Picard 1 & 2.
Personally for me I thought the JJ Abrams movies (agree to disagree on Beyond) were okay. Since it's set in a different reality as said in the first movie it's an entirely different universe so unlike Discovery it doesn't violate canon but still tries to remain true to it's roots. Although I do agree on Discovery and Picard 1&2.
im hooked on this
Me too. One of the best 'Star Trek' series I watched in years. And once again, it is made outside of Paramount Studio 😉
Your 'inner thoughts' narration helped sir.
This is now my favorite Star Trek series. (take that paramount)
So funny that some of the best 'Trek' series today are not made by Paramount - Seth McFarlane's 'The Orville' and this game series 🖖🖖
GOOD JOBE RICK A BRAND NEW RELATIONSHIP !!!!!👏👏👏👏👏
what i dont understand is, if she regularly needs a shot of space insulin and her life depends on that to this degree, youd think that ring gave her a warning beep or two when shes running low, and really go off like a smoke detector when shes out. also youd think she has an emergency shot on her person for the worst case.
I think the ion storm can make their head rocks go super sayan.
Wow, Doc seems to be sharing a lot of privileged medical info from her patient...
It's because Doc Duval suspects something is going wrong with the Captain and later her intuition is proven to be correct.
Best water finest in the aplha quadrant
The Science Officer's option was better heh.
I like the Mass Effect style of this game. But that keyframe animation is just brutal.
Third option should have been "Too soon to say" Since so far all that has been made is hearsay, a thorough investigation would need to be made.
After all, the first duty of any Starfleet officer is to the truth. All else, the interests of the federation, even peace, come after. If the truth brings war, let there be war, if the truth hurts the federation, let the federation learn its lesson.
Hotari is admittedly the cliche option, but it would be a neat twist if it turned out to be the Alydians who are in the right. WIth the Hotari feigning their plight while actually wanting to become the next Klingon Empire by way of Romulan style deception. The storm is most likely their doing using some ancient tech they dug up while mining.
Not saying that's what I think is necessarily happening, (the feigned plight part) just what I think would be the more interesting option rather than Cardassian vs Bajoran/Centauri vs Narn etc yet again.
Been there, done that.
Have you managed to get the "my choices" section of the resurgence website working? I enter the qr code and just get told it's invalid. Tried many times.
You choose almost everything opposite of me. I sided with the mushroom heads as they were the ones who were unfairly attacked. The space hobgoblins cry but were given warp tech etc. Ungrateful. I also told them all I care about was the dilithim, By then you knew something didn't smell right.
By mushroom heads you mean the Squidward aliens?
@@chrispilcher2024 yes that works too
He just censored him self with com link sound lol 8:45
For a brief moment I thought we were gifted with an appearance by Kyla Van Zyl at the 11:50 mark. (I still say she and Mark Hale had a torrid affair....) Alas.
has the STO series been replaced by resurgence now?
No. Resurgence is it's own game not officially connected to STO.
you better not sacriface the lovers! i need a happy ending her!
SPOILER: Sadly it wasn't meant to be 😒🙄
@@LGranthamsHeir no! :(
For people asking about “why isn’t Ric(k?) using the in game subs,” apparently they are…borked? As in, you could be playing with them turned on, and suddenly not have them during certain scenes???
And the subs are off by default?? Why?! Who would ever even consider that as a good idea in the year of our lord 2023?!
So... with such a problem, she does not carry at least any form of insta infusion? Like how one would carry insulin?
I looked at the water first and than out of the "window" balcony thingi and that that the view is way better than this little fountain...
hang on i am confused spock would he not be dead orsomething when is this game set
Spock was still very much alive when the USS Excelsior (NCC-2000) was in service, and he was flying on their shuttle. (And I just discovered the shuttle's name is Grayson, which was his mother's family name.)
@@daveh7720 was the game notset in the 25th century
@@daveh7720 i just asumed the game was set in 25th century and not when spock was still alive
@@kineuhansen8629 I did a little research and I think I was mistaken before. According to the Memory Alpha wiki, ST:Resurgence takes place in 2380. Spock would be about 150 years old at that time.
I don't know why he was flying a shuttle from a nearly 100 year old Excelsior though.
@@daveh7720 well excelsior class was in service for a long timeall the way up to dominion wars and i do belive we see ncc 2000 at the fleet museum in picard
Kinda ridiculous to throw a "I LOVE YOUUUU" moment in the story so early in the story when the Player has no fucking clue who that woman is and why she's supposed to be important. UNLESS she's gonna die in half an hour or so.
also, why the hell cant they make a star trek series like this anymore. its really all devolved into the attempt to make the MCU or DCU with a star trek skin since enterprise ended. all these new shows are devoid of nuance and subtle, intelligent dialogues. its like watching a bunch of hyperactive kids on a field trip instead of professionals. this is in tone and visuals actual TNG era star trek, which is still the best star trek that was ever made.
you can tell that the people who made the writing for this game, and designed the ship really knew what they were doing and that this is made by fans. even the setting itself so far isnt grandiose because it doesnt have to be. a ship sent to negotiate and settle a conflict between 2 species who have been involved in trade with some unexpected difficulties thrown in.
Who else purchased a PC with Bitcoin back in 2010 and now has 1 of the most expensive PC's in the world 😅 , love these videos from a fellow Brit 🇬🇧

I still remember when people ordered pizzas with them.
had to refund the game, as a left handed player i could not adapt to the key binds nor the game lets me change them, too bad it seemed fun.
Couldn't you change the keybindinds through hardware rather than the game software? I don't know about your setup but every button, including the 15 on my mouse, is entirely remapable through its own software suite.
Shame their accessibility is so poor.
Yea i think 1 of the 2 love birds are going to die in this game 😅
Maybe maybe not the choice is yours

Ngl it’s getting very old for nearly every Star Trek show, game, etc to bring Spock back
i mean im not against it but it does kinda feel like the fedaration only has one ambasador
I’d say it makes the franchise seem small and lacking creativity/vision (and not just Star Trek)
Well, one _competent_ ambassador.
@@daveh7720 Do you really want to bring back Neelix as an Ambassafor instead?
@@LGranthamsHeir As long as somebody else's ship has to transport him.

I prefer Meowboy Diplomacy. :)
are you aware that you have the option of saying nothing? not to be condescending as this is a question I am asked all the time myself, but my understanding is that in this game you do not *have* to respond to any dialogue prompt
Debra Wilson, Mad TV sweet...bridging the franchises.
This game is cringe af.
Why didn't I hear of this?
