Remember how this started with Hale finding a temple built to Starfleet?
Remember how it all actually started back in Kirk-era Century? :p

I loved that memoriam pillar, at the end, of all of the fallen the Star Trek crew members over the years. A good way to end off this chapter.
Yes, no idea how they'll treat Odo and Nog from now on. They can get voice actors to replace the original actors, but it just won't be the same.
@@BNuts I'm sure if that's the case, they will find someone to do the characters and actors justice.
A Redditor had a great idea. Lucille Ball should be added to the in-game memorials, since as the head of Desilu she was as important to Star Trek as Gene was. Both Genes, Roddenberry and Coon respectively. Lucy believed in Star Trek when the networks didn't and twice saved TOS from cancellation.
@BNuts They'll have a presence at DS9. Odo's flagship and the Chimera can be seen parked outside and Nog can be seen in the shipyard.
@@kevinramsey417 You can also find Odo and Nog talking in Quark's after the arc is over as well
I admit I had a lump in my throat when the characters were talking about their next adventures knowing their actors are gone.
First the baby changeling and now this. Why do all of Odo's foster children end up dying on him?
He's a sucker for a hard luck case, and there aren't many stray puppies and kittens on DS9.

The last stand against the Hur'q, where your character is wounded and Kira and Odo take solace with each other in what they think are their final moments, had me genuinely emotional. A perfect cap to the best story arc in the game.
Romulan Mystery, Delta Rising, and The Iconian War have left the chat.
Dagnabbit Ric. I was already teetering on the edge with Odo's last speech, then you had to go visit the memorial.
_Sic transit gloria mundi._
That ending brought a tear to my eyes, Ric, but I thank you for it. (R.I.P René Auberjonois & Aron Eisenberg)

15:18 man went out like a boss. Victory is life. To sacrifice one's life to gain victory Is For the Glory of all.
When the Klingons showed up and had their inspirational speech about how they would fight the Hurq, it sent chills down my spine.
Martok always was good at giving speeches.
i almost stood up and shouted Q'pla! 🤣
"Oorah!"
-Kerman, Katherine. USS Sukhothai
And no ne has commented on the subtle joke of Hale being unnerved at the thought of someone controlling him like a holodeck chraracter...or shall we say, a character in some sort of game? :-)
2:20 i always enjoy the comedy between odo and quark. The fact that they added this part is exquisite. That and you just cant get enough of these moments
The scene would have been funnier if the Klingon fleet decloaked as opposed to warping in a little late.
I always tear up playing these missions with Odo.... RIP
The noble Klingon tradition of... helpfully shouting the context before every battle?
It's called "exposition", and is the solemn duty of every commanding officer!
Besides that, I like Martok's sudden shout over comms during a space battle:
"Target the Hurq forces, and fire!"
Yes, thank you, Captain Obvious, for those detailed instructions.
@@patrikhjorth3291my crew put down cards: "Oh wow! I never thought about that! Tactical, begin calculating a firing solution... Martok you genius! 😮"
I may have failed my surgery exam but at least I get this as a consolation.
Rick you've done it again. Got me all feeling feelings. Loved the memorial at the end.
As has been said by humans, if explosives don't get the job done then you're not using enough explosives.
"Hale Wants Big Boom."
Another is my favorite quote by my favorite scientist/ futurist Isaac Arthur "If force doesn't work, then you're not using enough of it".
And so now all 4 of the galactic quadrants are on the path to unity. It is is most gratifying to once more see Season 8 of _DS9_ and for life to once more return to that section of Star Trek lore. Though with the epilogue section of this mission blatantly foreshadowing the more Klingon-centric story arcs to arrive; I ponder in what style Ric will play out though that.

I loved this episode it was so good, I just hope this story doesn’t end.
Off the top of my head, I believe there are roughly a dozen more missions before he's caught up to the current release. Given that Ric mentioned doing some of the KDF faction specific missions plus the likelihood that many of the missions will be split up over multiple episodes, we could be talking about a few more months of content to look forward to. It'll be interesting to see what Ric does when he gets caught up to Cryptic.
I dont enjoy the newer Star Trek movies and tv series, so watching you play Star Trek Online really makes up for what I feel like im missing.
Love your ‘not a temporal agent’ asides 😂
Thank you so much for your excellent narration (or curation? idk) of Star Trek Online. It's like we've got an entirely new Star Trek series that interweaves through and expands upon the older ones.
Thanks Rick for taking us along on these adventures.
Awww Julian married Ezri after DS9 XD
Much better fate than the books. MUCH better.
Reading through the books now, and I agree.
So... this is where ancient bad Dominion decisions are imploding and a fix is found right before the implosion that was eons coming. I'd say the Dominion lucked out.
To be fair It was The Female Changeling who stole the Hur,q's mushrooms, and she got hers two videos ago, so the guilty party has paid the price. 😅
Hearing Martok acknowledge T’Kuvma is really awesome to me as a fan of both shows
Wow, that was one hell of a ride, thanks for taking us with you on it! One thing is really bugging me though, I can't belive we didn't get to talk to any Hurq!?! It feels like it would have been a fantastic payoff but instead everything happens off screen, and we never get a chance to hear their perspective on the conflict! ;(
I kind of what to see the jem hai fight the death core of krige from warhammer 40k.
Jen hai fighter: we go to reclaim our lives we are already dead, victory is life
Krigesman: sniffs in their gas mask: finnaly someone understands. Continue the bombbardemt, A fix bayonets charge for the emperor
Jem'Hadar: We are already dead - victory is life!
Krieger: That's quitter talk!
@@tba113 now guardsmen is that anyway to talk abour our 'sinckers in low gothic' freinds the jem'hadar after all it is rare we fight xeno's that appreciation dieing as much as we?
Seeing the memorial at the end was a nice, and sobering, touch. Eisenberg and Auberjonois will be missed.
Not going to lie. Martok showing up and giving his speech never fails to make me cheer. FOR KAHLESS! FOR THE EMPIRE! QAPLA! As fond as I am of Kagran, he's no Martok. Also, I must have memory holed CAPTAIN Nog wearing his old Engineering uniform in Quark's.
In my playthrough I was able to talk to a woman named Adet'pa. But we'll be seeing her again in the future. She's a bit of a witch may even come to love her. Speak up, Adet'Pals!
Before the release of some of the newer episodes, Adet'pa had a different, more generic character model and a different voice actor, but could be found on DS9.
I kind of suspected that she would become a person of some importance later, though...
This was a great episode, and really, this whole series has been jaw dropping, with a great story to follow, great editing, and a great story-teller, you, who have given us a great view of this online game's experiences with your keen insight and elegant commentary.
Thank you, this has been great fun, and it says a lot when I feel myself crying a bit with the story's bittersweet end.
I look forward to more story-telling-game-playing fun with you and this channel!
I really need this I Play Star Trek invasion as a kid and I needed a better understanding and character closing for the Hur'q spieces.
I lost my games in storage because of a robbery, so I have been home sick for games.
This story has been nostalgic an has brought me to tears [manly tears, but still tears].
Thank you.
The memorial plaque at the end was well appreciated.
Yes!! Been rewatching CI content all day and here is brand new sweet STO episode:D
J. G. Hertzler is so completely 'effing awesome! That speech got my inner Klingon going!
The overhauled KDF missions are interesting.
The KDF arc seems to be a bit on the short side since the revamps to me.
I agree they are.
Only thing I am not thrilled about is the std Klingons being part of soft canon.
I played through the kdf civil war and I was not thrilled about the whole thing.
@@valor1omega They are not some of the stronger missions in the game, to be sure. They are not terrible, and they give a good insight into Klingon culture, but...
To me they feel as if they are mainly written as an excuse to include DSC characters in the game, rather than to be a good story. I don't mind DSC elements being introduced, I rather like Discovery (except for the whole "mycelial network" business - are you saying that the multiverse is held together by mould?), but it seems like a bit of a stretch.
I enjoyed playing the missions, but not as much as, say, the Romulan story arcs.
@@patrikhjorth3291
I felt like sto was forced into having std pushed on them.
I mean heck sto is pushing back in their own way, they allowed the player to off Burnham after all as she was one of the most hated characters in std.
Heck STO managed to tone down some of the Klingork features like the double nostral thing for insists.
From what I heard the Klingon civil war was already planned before std came out so if that's the case they just used std as the opposing force.
Still std Klingons don't feel like Klingons at all like with the ship with a bunch of mummified bodies, the Klingons don't do that.
Remember from tng with that Klingon who died and what the other Klingon said?
"Do what you want with the body as it is but an empty shell."
I believe it was the episode where Worf was talking about the Enterprise and how much faster she was without the saucer section.
Also the whole lava cloning thing?
That's not even how that process works.
The std Klingorks was shoved into the game changing the lore of the Klingons and it all feels forced.
The crossfield class is ugly poorly done and with more weak points that any ship I ever seen.
Not to mention it's a freaking marry sue of all ships.
Then there are the std Klingorks ships that they are passing off as BOPs and others?
Not to mention they had cloaking technology.
They didn't get cloaking technology nor any form of BOP until they traded with the Romulans.
the Klingork ships look like they belong in sg1 than trek.
Sorry everything about std spits in the face of trek and what STO had done up to this point.
Hell we don't see std klingorks in any of the "future" missions we take part in.
Then there is the case of the federation hate of the std Klingorks that went to war with the federation the moment she popped up.
Also sto Seems to be ignoring the fact that the one klingork murdered her baby and held up it's head.
She is a monster and we are suppose to side with her?
Sorry but no.
There is too much negative baggage with them that it taints the entire KDF civil war saga.
Absolute Jem'Chad'ar move
Thanks Rick for putting this altogether and continuing to do a great job
33:40 killed me
Would be a fun Easter egg if Garek pulled out the bottle of kannar you get him in the lost 2800. It would really be a fun case of Garek being wonderfully shifty.
Honestly post-Iconian War arc, this has to be my absolute favorite arc thus far.
"The Hur'k called for an emediate cease fire" Bashir says as the area is still getting bombarded. Very astute
In my head: Not every Hur'q would obey and I'm sure any munitions that had been launched before the cease fire would still be travelling to their targets.
Also I imagine the debre from dozens (maybe hundreds) of ships destroyed in low orbit falling around the planet like fiery rain...
My guess is that the Hur'q may have stopped fighting, but I'm pretty sure there were still some Klingons in the area that didn't get the memo.
Cannon to the left of them; Cannon to the right of them; Cannon in front of them volleyed and thundered.
Stormed at with shot and shell, into the jaws of death, into the depths of hell, rode the 300
The Klingon story is interesting, if short. One of the only times you actually get to go to Hell. In my opinion, though, the Romulan Republic holds the most interesting stories of any faction in the game.
I agree completely. The Romulan faction stories are my favorite (except for the moments where you have to deal with Tovan Kev).
Always love the intro theme. Love your series keep it up!
As a star trek fan I love sto fkaws and all. You do a great job telling these story missions. Keep it up man.
P.s. finally saved up for the ba'ul AP beams set...its great
I think Mass Effect 3 ending should be like that, no magical ancient leviathan, no crucible crap, no catalyst crap, just trying to find a solution within the boundaries of problems.
Finally get to see the perspective of a Klingon
great but sad episode!
When I first played this mission. I got to the point @12:31 and knew what music would stand out

I loved your reply about the prophets and founders!
Bravo! Another fantastic episode.

25:40 large, middle, small. All 3 sizes in one place.
26:53 Rule of Aqusition 111. Treat people in your debt like family… exploit them.
30:40 So Garak found himself a new Bashir to have breakfast with. Kumaarke is another somewhat naive scientist.
This whole affair reminds of of Rules Of Acquisition numbers 22, 62 and 34: A wise man can hear profit in the wind, The riskier the road, the greater the profit, and finally: War is good for business.
I don’t remember the sword of K was that big in the tv show, and the blades points were different as well..
Hand weapons in STO are all oversized. I'm pretty sure they're scaled for Gorn hands.
Limitations of live action vs the game presentation?
This is what I tell myself when it comes to races like the Gorn and Tholians. It was also the story I heard from a few Buffy Fans who followed the comics and show. That they had greater range with the comic to explore the univers then the did with the shows limited effects.
It didn't quite work with Enterprise but the online universe doesn't have those imitations so ships can be larger, legendary weapons can be "EPIC" in size and threads left unfinished by the shows can be wrapped up.
Even though I have my own character at Max level, I choose this series as my headcanon timeline
It's the end of an era. Shame it's all downhill from here.
What do you mean
@@drakeevans8042 Discovery's gonna get shoved down your throat.

As ever great work and thank you for playing it. :)
Poor Garak being stuck at all the awful state functions with people who never shut up.
It's a bit haunting to hear Aron Eisenberg's (RIP) voice, do you know when they recorded this?
VIL came out mid-2018, so much of the VO work was likely done by then. Plus some of the early FED missions got a bit of a revamp later that year which added Nog to some of them (like the FED Tutorial).
Renee Auberjonois (Odo) has also passed away since these episodes were recorded. It's a bit eerie to have conversations ingame with both of their characters.
There is of course Leonard Nimoy's voiceover for certain missions and info popups in the game also, but as I recall we never had an actual dialogue with Spock.
@@patrikhjorth3291 the original war with the Klingons arc for federation featured a plot involving the guardian of forever and Miral Paris, which led to going back in time to the 23rd century to save the federation being destroyed with advanced weapons. At one point you rescue the USS Enterprise from being destroyed and had an audio only conversation with Spock. It was a sad day when that mission line was cut from STO.
@@dambust232 Aw geez, I miss that storyline too. Went through it with the first toon I made (Ferengi woman).

Thanks a lot for making these videos. I am kind of enjoying the Star Trek Online stories more than the current series (Discovery and Picard).
...Well you had fun while it lasted.
Can't wait to 'Discover' the next chapter
That was a nice story.
That was great! As usual. I just finished this same storyline with my newest Captain; a Trill Federation Delta Recruit named Rayna Yoriq. That is a very hairy ground battle!! The waves of H'urq were eating my Neutronic Mortars and Phaser Burst Turrets as fast as I could build them!! It's one of those missions were a 30+ second ability cooldown REALLY matters!!! I hope they add more Federation story content soon. The Klingon stuff is fun, but we need to make sure there are more Mark Hale adventures ahead!!
It's really going to be interesting to see how Hale reacts to the recent arc.
A klingon arc will be great to follow
He WILL need a T6 for those Klingon Story arc. He WILL need, if he doesn't, then he's far better player than me.
A couple weeks ago I redownloaded STO after not playing since 2016 and a lot of episodes I already played through are marked greyed out like I never played them before and some of my characters got leveled down. I guess there was a level cap increase since then, and a reworking of episodes and XP gain. Luckily I was able to make up most of the lost XP through logging in each character and doing admiralty missions. But I wanted to just jump right in and do the new content.
Eventually I will get around to catching back up, but I've been hit with a huge case of nostalgia lately and been hopping around different MMOs I used to love. Right now I'm in DCUO. I may either go to EQ or SWG next (either Legends or SWGEmu). Or I may give STO another swing.
"The last thing _anyone_ needs is a civil war"
Yeah, isn't that the truth? I really hope none of the main galactic powers are stupid enough to... never mind, I don't want to jinx it.
Unfortunately, I think it will be a very long time before we meet Odo again.
o-o Dukan’Rex..he..he sacrificed himself..
Mark Hale gets meta about Prophets pulling his strings like a holo deck character *cough cough video game joke* and Grand Nagus Rom cheeses about the lucrative rights to the Battle of Founder between the Hurq and everyone else. So much meta.
what happened to that huge Founders fleet that no one knew about? was that fleet in the battle?
RIP Odo. Since Rene Auberjonois’s passing I doubt we will see Odo again in the game.
The dominion have thousands of ships and must be maybe millions of jemhdar
That was epic! What is next on the Star Trek online agenda? Until I started watching these, I’d forgotten how much I loved the ol’ TNG/DS9/VYGR crews and stories...
Even thought we're going to start getting into some DSC stuff, I've been enjoying the story arcs, especially the recent missions.
More episodes please.
It's sad to see how many great actors we have lost. Another just the other day.
Please do a video covering civilian life on Federation Earth, the brief glimpses we see of it always intrigued me (I haven't watched STD or Picard beyond a few episodes)
Because of that ending,i named my ship after him,as soon as i finished the Mission. Its the R.R.W. Dukan'Rex. So his Story live on
What does Morn think about all the recent events? It's odd that such a talkative guy had nothing to say.
That's his holo double at Quark's. He's currently on a mission of great importance on Nimbus 3.
Isn’t the sword of Kahless floating around space somewhere in the Gamma quadrant? That is where Worf, Dax, and the other Klingon left it.
Recovered by Kahless clone, clone killed by T'Ket in Iconian war, recovered by Quark and then given to Martok.
Is this Rene Auberjonois' last performance as Odo?????

Question: How do you get your character to walk instead of jog everywhere?
In the "Controls" (or maybe "Key binds") section of your "Options" menu, you can set a key to toggle between "walk" and "run". The selection is empty by default, so you can set it to whatever key is convenient for you.
