    I have the saber we bought my son that still works today, a 2005 Force FX Master Replicas saber, and it is still superior to the lightsabers at WDW.

    Butterbeer is evergreen. Star wars doesnt have that, and the sabers you cant even have out really unlike the wands.

    Hand built garage. The reason is when you walk in and see how crappy the toys are most people walk out saying no way

      I hate Disney as much or more than most folks, but I have to make sure we are honest here; the build a droid was indeed $99 in 2019, but the lightsaber build was $199 in 2019. They have indeed increased dramatically with no additional experience included but they were both never $100.

    When you factor in the cost to enter the park + paying for an overprices light saber, it would be cheaper buying it online. Also, I would think the quality of the product would be a tad bit better than the ones you buy at Disney. I personally bought a light saber online many years ago and it still works and is quite sturdy. Regarding the Starcrusier stuff, I don't know anyone that would want it for themselves or their children. First of all, it's from a film series that no one cared about. Honestly how many kids rushed out to get a Rey action figure (and look at what has happened to Hasbro as a result). Also, its waaaay to overpriced and IMHO kind of tacky looking to begin with. Amazing how times have changed. When I saw the original Star Wars movie as an 8 year old, it was a no brainer what kids wanted for their birthday and Christmas presents. It didn't matter if you were male or female, everyone wanted anything related to Star Wars.

    Savis is a nice experience, for the 200 original.
    If you spin at all, you get admonished. I did a simple rotation to reverse grip, slowly, woth nobody in range of accidental hit, and was told if i didnt stop id be removed.
    Very different than during covid reopening even when theyd make exceptions if you asked for ondar colors being used.
    No i didnt pay for either one, no i wouldnt pay 250 for this quality. Twice the price is a proffie saber of much higher quality and function.

    The problem with making expensive toys is that most people wont pay the prices.
    They need to make lightsabers for the masses. The fancier they make them, the price will just be too high.

    I know that this is talking about Star Wars but maybe I should talk about something that Star Wars had involvement in or was used in Star Wars. I watched a video that’s about the Parade in Pixar Fest. I honestly like the new theme song and the new parade floats are actually pretty good; however, it seems like the parade is just an advertisement saying, “Hey, please watch these guys on Disney+.” Honestly, most people are fans of interesting products whether it’s a ride, parade, show, movie, TV show, or game whatever the brand or genre is there is always somebody who would love all, most of them, not all and not some, some of them, or not all of them and all of these are regular people with opinions that matter regardless of what they are. Most of the the things that I’m talking about is that usually brands like Marvel, Star Wars, Lucasfilm, Pixar, and Disney when it is good there’s a WOW factor that makes people love it enough to buy the merch, toys, and accept the begging of the toy to please the child. Now that WOW factor isn’t there and what replaces it is an uncomfortable topic about the birds and the bees that’s usually talked about in the teenage years not as kids. So, yeah, I won’t hold back on any punches. Once a video of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure comes out line and ride through, I will watch it and then I’ll come over to here to give my graded review regardless of when it opens or if it isn’t finished. Finished or not, that doesn’t matter all that matters is the opinions of the fans and guests and there’s no amount that they can pay me to actually act like it is good.

    I have a reservation for building a lightsaber when I go next week but didn’t have to pay up front when I made the reservation. Is this something new, or have they only floated the idea but not implemented it?

    I've done the $250 lightsaber build back on April 11th, I do know that after your builds before you leave if you want you can buy the remaining parts that you did not use, and then you would be able to change them out on your Sabre if you wanted to.

    • @vixaris
      @vixaris Před 16 dny +1

      Not always. It's very subjective to availability same with the droids. They only just started a few months ago offering parts there for the first time since almost 2020

      @@ThatParkPlace it was a definite intent. Nobody is allowed to have them put except for a photo in a specific area, and the blades being removable meant they had to have the lights in the blade (which is also how you have on/off going up and down the blade) but you can't smack blades that have lights on them around. No smooth swing, they're fancy paperweights on the level of a black series if it were bulky and had a metal shell

    It is worth $250 because you have so many people willing to pay that amount. As long as you have people willing to pay, Disney can charge whatever they want.
    And frankly, just by the price you should know it is an "adult collector" experience and not for kids. These sabers are not toys, and I would not expect to be able to play with them. If you want to play with a light saber, then go get the plastic one meant for kids.
    The sabers are typical adult collectors merchandise. Their quality is mediocre. They are meant to sit on a shelf or display case and be handled carefully.
    You banged your expensive sabers together in a play fight and you did not expect the blade to break? Seriously? If anyone wanted to bang something against the blade of my very expensive light saber, I would bang them upside the head----and not with my saber.
    Why is anyone surprised that Disney has made this a "paid reservation" event? The venue is limited, and every person who does not show up costs them money. So they charge in advance to make sure you show up.
    Unfortunately, as times goes on, if this event remains popular, Disney will continue to raise prices and reduce quality, that is just reality.

  • @BigBlueHorses
    @BigBlueHorses Před 16 dny +1

    We were just in Disney. The build droid and build a lightsaber has a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you are under that it’s a full charge. Period. No exceptions. BUT you know this going in. You are told up front.
