  • How to fix P0096 / DF005 Air intake temperature fault on 2015 Vauxhall Vivaro , same as renault trafic 1.6 CDTI. Check anti pollution message on dash & engine light on.
Often the air temp is read through the air flow meter but these have a separate sensor.

I have just had same fault P0096 Only the Check injection system light was on (solid). I have fitted the Bosch part which was identical to the one already fitted. Light has gone out straight away without even using my diagnostic tool! Brilliant detailed video very well explained, Thanks so much.

Very helpful video! I don’t suppose you’ve had one of these vans in that randomly wont start and i mean completely dead no interior light, no dash light no central locking nothing. Then if you leave it for a bit it is all fine again. Also get random warnings whilst drive like check abs and check oil level for example and sometimes the steering can go abit jerky. Then can go for weeks with none of these issues before they may start again.

Finally got time this weekend to seeing if I could spot anything and did notice that the earth clamp on the battery had slid up on the taper so it wasn’t actually clamped tight more like just resting. Pushed back down and clamped up. Hopefully thats all it was!

I had this issue p0096 on a Nissan Xtrail. I found that the replacement sensor only worked for a few trips then the fault came back. It’s linked to the cruise control not working . I tested the sensor via a heat gun and a multimeter and found it still worked, however it was getting clogged with oil. So I cleaned the inlet pipe and then deep cleaned the EGR, refitted the old IAT and now it works and has continued to work for a year. The trigger is likely extensive idling clogging the sensor and EGR soot build up. HTH.
