  • At the 2019 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Chevrolet unveiled its eCrate concept, an electrified crate kit that delivers 450 horsepower as a drop-in powertrain intended for hot rod conversions.
For the show, the eCrate was fitted to a 1962 Chevy C-10. With the conversion and new powertrain, Chevy is calling this truck the "E-10" concept truck.

IMO they need to do one of two things. 1. get the total package (battery, motor, electronics) into a size/shape that is a drop in replacement for either a small block or big block chevy (bell housing, motor mounts, pedal linkage to the old carburetor, etc) or 2. ship it as a kit with transaxle, battery that fits between frame rails (under the bed).
What I'm seeing here is the "worst of both worlds" all of the problems, none of the benefits.

I much rather restore a collectable pickup like this if it was DIY than spend 80K on a decent new Etruck with the basic truck look. You can not replace the beauty of what was. Garrantee you if Chevy turned out a short and long wheel base truck to look exactly like late 60's c10 people would buy the heck out of them. Take the challenger for example. except for being wider etc it still is what it was in style and people bought a ton of them for it

Was hoping early 1900-1930’s body style where mileage would be on the high side of the equation. I can imagine if that body was with the fabric of a sports car the mileage possibility would increase, I wonder if that is the solid steel of the original truck?
