With Ange Postecoglou facing criticism from Spurs fans, rivals and pundits alike after another defeat this time at the hands of Chelsea and former boss Mauricio Pochettino, today and ahead of another Premier League (PL) clash against Liverpool I will be reacting to comments said by Sky Sports pundit ,creator of the Overlap (Stick to Football) and Manchester United legend Gary Neville.
I have done many videos about his and Jamie Carragher's opinions on Spurs this season as they have had a lot to say about the former Celtic, Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos, Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar managers first season in North London.
Champions League looks all but gone for Tottenham, but Europa League is still up for grabs - but they must get a result away from home against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

The only thing that makes the Premier League the 'best' is in the wages it pays. It may attract better talent but that only appears to be so in 3 or 4 teams......not the whole league!
Nothing wrong with what Gary said, we started the season with no pressure and the players thrived from it with players confidence very high, once players hit a bad run of form the team played liked how I expected it to be . I just think our real level is chasing for the Europa league spots.

I think media sensationalism around Spurs is next level. Whether we’re doing well or not, Spurs stuff gets clicks. Not only because we have a dedicated (and reactionary) fan base but because we attract so much attention from other fan bases who want to make fun of us. Anything that can be spun into a negative light or blown out of proportion will be because people will lap it up.
I think that’s what’s going on with Ange in general. First 10 games the media tried to pedal him as a messiah to piss off Arsenal and Chelsea fans (getting attention and clicks) and to indulge Spurs fans hopes (also getting clicks). Now it’s completely flipped. Also the whole ‘not interested in set pieces’ thing is just blatantly taking what he said and intentionally blowing it out of proportion into something he didn’t mean. Obviously Ange understands the importance of set pieces. He was essentially trying to say we need to focus on the bigger picture. We are rebuilding a ship, his focus is not on plugging the holes in the ship, it is to entirely redesign and rebuild it.

Levy should be criticised, but you have to be fair. He’s been successful in his role as a financial investor despite how unsuccessful he has been in terms of actual football achievements.

just give Ange time, and whoever listen to what Jamie O'hara has to say is beyond help. And anyone saying we should be higher then 5-6th, did not listen to themselves start of the season or the pundits, most had us 8 and down.
The players we have half of them was still here when Pochettino was our manager, that says alot about what kind of cleanout we need to give ange.

Sorry O'hara is bang right on set pieces and so many fans are ignoring it instead they just kiss Ange arse and say give him 3 windows, 3 seasons - you could not make the denial up ! @@TooDarnSoulful the only thing ange need to change with the set pieces for this season is to do man marking instead of zonal, the biggest problem i saw from chelsea game was that we stopped all the fucking time when we got to the final third and passed back, letting chelsea get organised every single time.
And he has been saying since the beginning he will accept mistakes as long as they keep playing and attacking so when he got mad the other day was cause the players did not press and they passed back too much.

I feel Ange did really well in his last press conference, he made it clear that he acknowledges the criticisms labelled at him (also hear he is going to bring in more coaches, I'm guessing more experienced and maybe to help on defensive work). He also made it clear that there are a lot of changes that need to be made, you're hearing this morning that Richarlison, Bissouma, Emerson, PED and upto a total of 12 people are being looked be be moved out if possible. That shows that the manager/club know that things aren't good enough and the majority of the players we have aren't good enough for the system.

Spurs will only ever compete for a title if the owners start buying world class players like other top PL clubs do. Over the ENIC years we have sold on Carrick, Berbatov, Keane, Defoe (both came back quickly thank god!), Bale, Modric and now Kane. We don't keep the very best or buy the very best. So Europa League and the occasional Champions League run is all we can look forward to. Tough.

Yes, top 5 is Spurs level. It’s above the 7th/8th Spurs is at squad cost according to a pundit on ESPN. So they’ve over performed. To get to that next level in the EPL you need to spend as much as the top teams do, especially with European games to stretch the squad. PS. Please stop panicking. This is part of the rollercoaster.

I’ve noticed that our team loses confidence after going 1-0 down but the funniest thing they work harder in second half. Ange must be shouting at the players when he’s mad at half time

Ever since we sacked Poch we haven’t fully invested in a manager or a plan/project and we have to pay for that because we are back at the beginning like when Poch first took over where as Liverpool for example are potentially at the end of one, Arsenal are hitting their stride, City are City even look at Villa and how they have completely bought into Emery’s vision. We have seen glimpses of how good it can be under Ange we just need some patience.

Imagine Tottenham the past 5 years without Kane. Ange is definitely over-achieving. Levy only buys mediocre players that have resell potential. They're good players, but inconsistent. Occasionally Levy will find a diamond in the rough, like Kane. But without those rare finds, the squads are very weak.

We're going through a bit of a patch but Turmoil is a ridiculous word to use to overhype the situation. What do people expect after 7 months, major injuries, Africn cup of nations, asia cup. If you really think top 6 of the Premier league is turmoil you need to give your head a wobble.

Let's give Ange the time he needs to rebuild the team. Our winning mentality is non-existent, but it takes time to build. Our general play is okay, but it can be improved. I'm very disappointed with our set-piece defending; I think it's horrible. But deep down, I know Ange will get to the bottom of it. We need to band together and support this manager. Levy must back Ange.

Talksport in the whole is very reactionary and clickbait. So Jamie O'Hara mouthing off and going on a rant saying we've been found out is just lazy punditry. Spurs started the season like a rocket and with a pretty much full strength starting 11 we're playing with freedom and no fear. Hence why the football was exciting and effective. That is very difficult to maintain then add the Asia, African cups interruptions, injuries to Maddison and numerous other first teamers we really were going to struggle to maintain that consistency. I am massively disappointed with our season as a whole in terms of conceding so many goals and a cup run that ended before it got going. It's hard to take the season tailing off in this manner but I repeat....it changes nothing. Levy needs to release the funds to bring it the players that will deliver what he demands. The only way is up baby! Coys

As an American, I’m not bothered to be honest. I said 7th at the beginning of the season and we are 5th, so we are punching above our weight. The 1st 10 games didn’t change my expectations.
If you’re not bothered as a septic then why bother posting? Stick to baseball, basketball(both girls games originally) and what you septics call ‘football’, nobody is interested in you either! COYS!!!

Ange is good, unfortunately not many players wanting to win enough, I’m happy with the defence when all fit, we need a new striker who has played in the epl, we need a better midfield, we need someone who is good on corners and set pieces too, we will get loads of corners through our style of play but not many can score with their heads

MY OPINION, after seeing him as a player and most of the teams hes coached(and indirectly knowing a player he has coached)!...Where are Spurs right now?...No where, the shine of newness has worn off after the 37 games plus preseason...The EPL opposition have seen enough to repel PlanA(NGE)ball.SO, it gets harder and harder for TH to get results when the opposition have the repellant plan BUT their managers have the flexibility to change whereas TH dont.If the next 4 games go the same as the last 3 its manager of the year who needs to be sacked(but thats only my opinion)...we will see what results come.

The fixture list has not helped. Spread the games Spurs have lost across the season and its not so bad. Then answer this honestly: Are Spurs better than City, Arsenal or Liverpool? I'd say no. Against Villa, Newcastle and Utd we should be fighting. The true bad results were from the Wolves and Chelsea games, losing home and away. Every other team we have taken points off.

Lastly, after the first ten games of the season we got found out, and we are probably the most predictable side in the prem to play against. Since the first ten games we have achieved the tenth most amount of points, which shows our true form. Ange has a method, and simply doesn't understand tactics. If you think Fulham and Newcastle were poor results, wait until tomorrow
