Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou sat down with former Chelsea, Fulham and Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer for Australian media outlet Optus Sport to talk all things Spurs.
The former Celtic, Australian national team, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and Yokohama F. Marinos boss has had a rollercoaster of a first season at Tottenham, but if he achieves European football like the Europa League or Europa Conference League after losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich would still be impressive.
Even I spoke to We Are Tottenham TV about Big Ange and still want Daniel Levy to back this manager after a season of highs and lows.
Following Premier League (PL) losses for Tottenham Hotspur against Newcastle United, Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool - top 4 & Champions League seems out of reach and therefore Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has faced criticism from fans, rivals and neutrals.

Hey Sonny, a kiwi spurs fan here. Look I know it’s hard for some people to separate emotion from football but when you look at everything objectively he’s done well. To be honest, people calling for Ange out are entitled and that’s unfortunately what football is becoming.This man has a plethora of experience and has made a long journey to get to the premier league. Let’s not prematurely end his tenure because we’re upset and confuse passion for overreactions. Give the man time

I'm Ange in 1000000% the bloke has done wonders especially thinking of where we was this time last season and with Kane leaving things didn't look good , Europe in his 1st season and its obvious we aren't a boring defensive team no more so i can just imagine what he would achieve if he's backed and given time . One of my favourite quotes which fits well with Ange. No point people judging Ange now. Give him at least a couple of seasons. The proof is in the pudding.

But ange liked his wide players and we haven’t mastered yet how to use our wide players

He was never going to rebuild a team that was on a down ward trejectory and then lost its best player in 2 windows, he needs time to get new players in that are need to rejuvinate the team, supporters just have to realise you do have to give him time to sort it all out weather the support base likes it or not, understand frustrations but we do need to be patient

The thing with Ange is that hes like a salesman who's so sure of his system that he has to stick it out .Question is it the system or the players failing ? When Barcelona were tippy tappy the players within were so good at it that no one could dominate them. If that could be replicated by any team then everyone would be doing it but only Barca succeeded because the players were good enough to believe in then implement tippy tappy .For Ange ball to succeed the players need to be good enough to believe in and implement it and i think Ange has seen this and knows he has to find players to do the job

Excuse after excuse after excuse about transfer windows, when Conti took us from mid table to Champions League qualification in his first half season. And he was sacked with us in 4th spot, one point behind 3rd.
But there was more to it than that
BACK TILL WE SACK HIM, I will always back the manager until he gives me a genuine reason not to and I judge on how I feel about the team, does he give me hope and do I enjoy the games results r a bonus we aren't going to win the league so we need to the games and the atmosphere at the games is brilliant

Levy will back Ange in the transfer window with only the players that Levy wants to sign. This has gone on for almost a quarter of a century with all his head coaches, resulting in Daniel Levy having the worst trophy per season percentage stats of any THFC chairman since World War Two. Ange will be sacked within 12 months...

Our run of games was very tough, for me, it's not Ange's fault, it's the players.

Ange reminds me of AVB except the latter actually won meaningful trophies both have supreme confidence both believe in pushing the High Line up to the half way line and both vowed never to change :(

The start of year some had us down for relegation. We surprised everyone and were top after 10 games.
This year was always about getting rid of dross. Half that job is done. More in the summer, push on! Ange all the way!

@@SonnyTalksSpurs Reuben Amorim would be a much better fit tactically and in terms of managing a young squad. Too many red flags with Postecoglou. He came in saying he didn't believe in talking one on one with players, seems odd that he doesn't have coaches who stay with him, talks about not having any plan when things aren't working, had the team in contention for Champions League then said CL didn't matter to him, no set piece coach or even acknowledgment of the problem, has a good young core of players and is already saying over half don't believe in his system and will have to leave, talks in platitudes and seldom mentions tactics or players. His personality is volatile. If you go back to Australia he can get really worked up if questioned. Look at the results this year and compare the second time the league saw Spurs under Postecoglou versus the first. That tells the story.
Him and Amorim are cut from the same cloth - same with Slot unknown until they move to PL

Why is Ange even comparing himself with Klopp & Arteta ? Those guys have spent their whole careers playing, coaching, managing & pitting their wits against (and learning from) the very best the game has to offer. By comparison, Angle’s only meaningful achievements prior to this season have taken place in what’s, let’s be honest, a two team league. And when Celtic played in Europe they were found out, even against sides with way less resources. Is there any evidence Ange could be the real deal, even if he had eleven Messi’s in the team ?….if there is, I must be missing it 😊

his tactics are a big concern. not willing to adapt to oppositions is just criminal in the PL maybe in the Japanese or Scottish league that's ok cos more often than not your opponents are poor but the PL your opponents will find you out. Bring in someone like Tuchel, a tactical adaptable wizard for spurs and lets play pragmatic football

On Ange, he needs time and i am not sure why anyone would want him out at this time, we need to stick with a manager to start to build something, and this is proven all over the league as stated before with Klopp, Arteta, and Pep, you can also include Potter (when at Brighton, his 1st season was not great), i also believe Ange can build something here and as he says the foundations are being laid.
