Following Premier League (PL) losses for Tottenham Hotspur against Newcastle United, Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool - top 4 & Champions League seems out of reach and therefore Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has faced criticism from fans, rivals and neutrals.
The former Celtic, Australian national team, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and Yokohama F. Marinos boss has had a rollercoaster of a first season at Tottenham, but if he achieves European football like the Europa League or Europa Conference League after losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich would still be impressive.
So I have reacted to some thoughts aired by Sky Sports pundits Roy Keane & Gary Neville, not Jamie Carragher this time, but talkSPORT and TNT Sport pundit Ally McCoist have had their say on Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou.
Are you still backing Big Ange?
I appeared on We Are Tottenham TV recently so go check it out!
I also disagree with Rory Jennings on his takes about Ange Postecoglou!
The Premier League is heating up with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolves aka Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham squad include Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Emerson Royal, Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil, Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-Min (손흥민) Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr, Jamie Donley, Alfie Dorrington, Ashley Phillips, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Ryan Sessegnon, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin, James Maddison and Dane Scarlett, Manor Solomon, Alejo Veliz, Giovani Lo Celso, Ben Davies, Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele, Joe Rodon, Lucas Bergvall and Luka Vuskovic.
Sonny Talks Spurs content focuses on Premier League, Champions League, Carabao Cup (League Cup) and FA Cup talking about Tottenham Hotspur, Ange Postecoglou, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Daniel Levy, ENIC, Joe Lewis, Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, transfer news, tactical analysis and much more. At the beginning of the season, many of the Spurs fans knew very little about Ange apart from Celtic and Aussie Fans. Then we had the Kane saga. Who is going to score an extra 30 goals for the season? Remember Richy going through that drought. We got through our 1st 10 games and then the wheels fell off. Red Cards, injuries galore. Yet Ange pushed through all that. We then finally hear from the mob recently "Ange has been found out". To be fair, Ange always knew at some point during the year that our players would be found out and teams would capitalise on our inefficiencies. Not Ange. He already knew before the season even started that players would break. Sure enough. These are the players that are nowhere near good enough, or just don't buy into the system.. Why do you think he played Emerson, Gil, Davies? Ange has been very smart in how he has managed the Team. Am genuinely excited about next season. Bring it on.

He will iron the problems over the summer, bring in a few more player's.. bloody hell, it took Arteta 4 yrs and kloop 5 before they become any good.. Takes time to build a sustained period of success and a team capable of doing so.. Especially the way Ange wants his teams to play.. The proper way of playing football..

It’s not a disaster loosing games, this is when you see the players that are simply not up to the levels & expectations of the manager and his style of play.. This is how a rebuild has to go to see where our weaknesses are and what positions need upgrading, we will see in the coming season a more clear picture of where we’re heading.

Excluding the first 10 games, our team's performance when calculating the remaining 25 games as points is 11th. This is Ange’s true skill.
Also, in recent games against Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, the first half of the game showed Ange's true skill and level. It would have been a disaster if they hadn't played loose in the second half.
Tottenham ranks 4th in Europe in spending on player recruitment over the past 3 years. Stop blaming the players. The current loss streak due to disgraceful performance is entirely Ange's fault. If your tactics don't work, you should think of the next best solution, but you're not doing that at all. Go to the Scottish league where you were.

He just needs players with high energy levels, who play the game in between their ears and who are convinced in the game style. 1. We won 8 from 10 early season were flying.
    2. In those 10 games we showed all the PREM coaches THE SYSTEM.
    3. That system as been totally sussed out and with Ange being so stubborn Ange has a monumental task in challenging the top 3 to win the PREM.
    4. The results do not lie, we have been awful and the players form has been nowhere near it.
    5. My concern is how we are looking now as a team will not have people knocking down the door to join us !

Under the helm of Daniel Levy, Tottenham Hotspur FC finds itself in a perpetual struggle to secure trophies, regardless of the caliber of managers at the helm. It's akin to possessing a powerful gun but lacking the essential ammunition to execute plans effectively. The club's ambitions for glory seem to be thwarted by a series of obstacles, be it in the transfer market, managerial decisions, or team dynamics. Until these underlying issues are addressed and resolved, the dream of lifting major silverware may remain elusive for the Lilywhites.

It’s always the same being called for, “back the manager”. Who must back him, the fans? No, the ownership needs to back him, and when last was a manager backed? The last manager was one of the greatest, which I’m sure some fans will disagree with, but fans expect a Picasso painting from the artist when the ownership is giving them crayons. Managers all have certain styles of playing and some players just can’t do what’s expected of them, and they need to be replaced to suit the managers way of playing. The ownership has a track record of not doing that ever, and yet the managers are always the ones falling on the sword. Managers need time, and the players they need, and the Tottenham ownership has never obliged them any of it, and I can’t see it miraculously changing with this manager. He won’t get the players, thus won’t get results, and soon the stupid fans will be calling for his head as we are already witnessing, and the cycle will continue whilst the owners cash in on one of the most profitable football clubs in the world. Ask yourself, Maurinho, Conte, Postecoglou have been incredibly successful at every club they have been at, except for one: Tottenham, but yes, let’s use zero logic and blame the managers. The answer is glaringly obvious to anyone who has an IQ greater than their shoe size.

I know right? It's like everyone claiming, based on press conferences, that Ange isn't taking responsibility for set piece defence. What he tells the media and what he tells his squad are not the same. He isn't responsible to journalists.

For all the guff that the Premier League is different and special.. yes the competition is higher, but the player quality is as well overall. To think that there is no way that Ange can make it work in the PL is just one-eyed elitist gumph.. 🇦🇺 has always faced this bias in football.. partly its own doing due to underinvestment here - but to not understand what he did in Japan and Scotland to rebuild and turnaround teams is narrow minded

I hear you Sonny but Ange still needs to develop in-game management, especially defense and corners, but yes the football is progressive but we cannot keep accepting such heavy loses to our main competitors and he Fulham's, Wolves, Brighton's of the world !

So… no changes were needed while you were at the top of the league after 10 games but now most of the squad needs to go… Right. So the first ten games were a fluke then, either that or Angela is just a crap manager at this level.

Yes, just repeat the cycle and get a new manager who doesn’t get players so he can be sacked in a year again. He’s not the problem, and there’s a common denominator in all of the BS, but lucky for him he’s just upped his salary by £300k a year. But keep calling for the managers head every 12 months, you just enable the twat by doing that, which I am afraid entitles you to the same adjective!

@mathewnicholas6365 Arguing about EVERY manager that comes in and can’t win anything because they don’t get what they need, very clever way by the twat at the top to keep lining his pockets and get none of the blame for what is ultimately his fault. The reason he gets away with it is because every 12 months he bombs managers to appease senseless fans who can’t see the wood for the trees. Well done, you’re one of the mindless enablers!
