Ange Postecoglou has joined a long list of Tottenham Hotspur managers for calling out the club on and off the pitch and he joins a long list of Spurs managers to go on rants in recent years.
Current Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino sat down with Gary Lineker for BBC Match of the Day (MOTD) and said his issues around transfers and rebuilding
Former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho whilst at Roma called out Spurs as that was the only club he didn’t win a trophy at.
Ex-Juventus, Italy and Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte went on a wild rant after a 3-3 draw with Southampton in the Premier League (PL) where he went at Daniel Levy.
And now former Celtic, Yokohama F. Marinos, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and Australia manager just couldn’t get his head around some Spurs fans wanting to lose to Manchester City so Arsenal couldn’t win the league.
Tottenham need a point against Sheffield United to get 5th spot and Europa League football - as Aston Villa will be playing in the Champions League (UCL) for finishing 4th.
The Premier League is heating up with Arsenal, Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Fulham, Liverpool, Luton Town, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolves aka Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham squad include Guglielmo Vicario, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Emerson Royal, Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil, Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-Min (손흥민) Richarlison, Pape Matar Sarr, Jamie Donley, Alfie Dorrington, Ashley Phillips, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur, Sergio Reguilon, Djed Spence, Ryan Sessegnon, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin, James Maddison and Dane Scarlett, Manor Solomon, Alejo Veliz, Giovani Lo Celso, Ben Davies, Fraser Forster, Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman, Ivan Perisic, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Tanguy Ndombele, Joe Rodon, Lucas Bergvall and Luka Vuskovic.

20 managers in 23yrs and only one has delivered a trophy. Yet Spur's fans slagged off Mourinho and Conte as if these guys are were the problem. Even Ange who is more popular than Conte and Mourinho is starting to see the issues himself.
It can't always be the managers. Mourinho and Conte won everywhere and Mourinho still managed to get back to back finals with Roma.

@@SonnyTalksSpursI agree with that pretty much. Those two big people didn't see that challenge of changing mentality as their problem. It was below them.
Tottenham was the problem, not them. Wipe your hands clean of them.
Knowing Ange's though he would never enjoy coming into a ready-made trophy dispenser and just pressing collect.
Tottenham is THE perfect role for him precisely because it is difficult. Because they haven't had success. The reward for everyone will be a thousand times that of winning with Arsenal or Liverpool.
He'd see this as what he was born to do, his life's work
This is just him rolling up his sleeves.
If I know anything about him it's that he has extremely high standards, accepts no excuses (ie shallow pockets), and is as relentless as he is ruthless.
It's natural people are doubting his credentials and they will till we win it. But if I had to bet my life on any living manager to win Tottenham a trophy, it would be him or Pep, take your pick.
That is going to look like a ridiculous thing to say, but I'd be deeply shocked (and dead) if he didn't bring success to this club.
Back the man like there's nothing to lose (and to be fair there's not much more to lose).

Ange took over a shocking squad because Mourinho and Conte didn't shift out the Poch era failures. The squad after last season was stale, with players having stayed WAY too long. Ange has done great this season. 5th is AMAZING in his first season. Still about 9 players to replace in the squad. I'm excited for the transfer window!

As observer, not all is lost for Spurs. While Ange spoke of problems which clearly go deep. He's not shying away from tackling them.
He can control the internal issues & culture.
He'll also look at the clearly mental aspect of fans because there's an obvious lack-mentality.
Strong clubs don't care about rivals & their journey.
Strong fans stick with their team - do or die - together. They don't leave early. They don't turn their backs on their team or cheer the opposition - EVER.
Clubs need to be a tight unit. Otherwise... success will continue to ellude Spurs & Arsenal will continue to have one up on you guys.

There's a fake positivity at our toxic club.
If we sign Timo Werner, our fans feel like they Have to be positive and "oh, give him a chance. He'll come good."
Or, the fans who Seriously believe Richarlison can replace our Best Ever Striker, Harry Kane.
Then, we got a majority of fans who's ambitions stems from the chairman: "just get top 4. As long as we get top 4."
Which has become our trophy to Many of our fans.
THFC is no longer a football club.
It's an enterprise. An entertainment and housing complex that just happens to have a football pitch and team that plays on it.
We sell our champions league level players: Modric, Bale, Kane, Walker and replace with 7-9 players who'll hopefully come good to sell for a big price or, we hold onto players far longer than we should making it impossible to sell them on, and when we Do finally get rid, we now have to replace, therefore, never Actually replenishing the squad, just replacing a 1st teamer.
Look at this season, at LB we had Udogie and Perisic who was playing pretty well before his injury, now we have Ben Davies who's STILL at the club.
So, what do Spurs do in January?? Sell Perisic and keep Ben Davies as Udogie replacement.. Typical Levy.
There's no plan for the team nor any ambitions other than getting top 4 to get champions league money.. We never compete in it anyway.
Europa league is our level, and we're still behind some European teams in that competition too.
    It's all Levy.
    Harry Redknapp was effed over.
    Martin Jol was effed over.
Poch got us 2nd behind Conte's Chelsea and Levy decides to go 518 days with no transfers.
Sacks Mourinho, the best manager this side of the galaxy, a week before a cup final.
Drives Conte to madness and obscurity.
But, fans will say he's done alright for the club. Look at the stadium. Blah blah blah.
Yet, he's given himself a huge payrise while charging disabled supporters more money for their handlers, charging more for season tickets than Man City, and attempted to furlough staff.
    He's more evil than Palpatine.

Club is rotten to the core but it's a very cosy lucrative rottenness and the fans feed it and are the biggest problem as their behavior this week has made apparent. They'll be happy for Levy to continue the merrygoround, take offense at another manager including them in the rotten culture and spend their time talking about players, systems, deadwood etc and finding new songs for the next manager after 3 wins in September. All the while the same rottenness will emerge next season as the rustier merrygoround awaits new passengers and the tedious cycle goes on. Arsenal aren't going anywhere back to our level of fan endorsed mediocrity anytime soon so throwing away our own progress to get a visceral thrill and feel important by sabotaging their hopes in coming seasons probably won't be an option.

False equivalance. In 23yrs, which manager has managed to build a super team that went on to win? That's wishful thinking mate especially when you don't have any basis to measure it on. Using Celtic as a metric is ridiculous. Celtic challenge for the title every year, they are the equivalent of Liverpool and Arsenal clubs that are used to winning trophies and the only realistic competition to challenge City. When have Spurs challenged a top teams for the league and went on to win it the following year? They challenged Leicester only to go on and lose the title. But they've never challenged anyone other than the tiop four. Spurs is the equivalent of a Kilmarnock or St Mirren, mid table clubs that rarely win anything. The hypocrisy in your comment and the false moral high ground you try to capture is an attack on every fan who has the right to think and feel how they want! ONE GAME does not fix mentality its utter BS, consistency that builds momentum leads to fixing mentality. MENTALITY starts at the top and 1 trophy in 25 years under Levy & ENIC is the issue but most fans are too scared to say it so they turn against thier own fans.

We were one the best defence of the league 3 years ago. // Postecoglou's Celtic in champion's league last year with same tactics : 4 defeats 2 draws. Sonny, the fans that claim to 100% support Tottenham and then go and pay to watch the game whilst supporting the opposition just for their own self delusional gratification need to be ashamed.
Would any of the previous great leaders and players in Spurs history ever condone that mentality. History shows that Arsenal and Tottenham shared the Whiteheart Lane ground together in the 2nd World War. If Ange walks, you can blame the Fanbase and the mentality from the top down. I hope Ange stays and gets rid of Ryan Mason for a starter. If the Club do not back him then they are very much a part of the problem. The team will be on fire this weekend to prove to fans to get behind the Players, Ange and the Club.

Pochettino didn't fail. We are a club the size of Villa/Everton. They would have bitten your hands off for what Poch did. On the other hand Ange imo was a bit of a joke on Tuesday pretty much deflecting his responsibility. Tuesday isn't the reason why we didn't get CL, but the 27 games 37 points is. A bit all too convenient to blame again 'mentality of the club'. Conte was backed, but the football was atrocious, so was Mourinho (his League Cup run included a walkover, 2 c-ship teams and penalty win against Chelsea not exactly moved mountains there), both are unemployed now.

Daniel levy is the answer why all managers fail. Why didn’t he back Mourinio or conte?? They won trophies every team they managed. Only in Tottenham both managers failed. Levy is to blame the greedy Judas. Also Ange is having a go at us spurs fans because of Tuesday well he needs to have a word with himself because he kept mentioning about beating city but forgetting about if we won then our biggest rivals will win the league. If he cared so much about top 4 why did he lose 4 games on a trot. Ange has come across arrogant recently. In the media he’s throwing shade at spurs fans there is no need for it when we could have secured top 4 a while ago if he didn’t lose so many games. Ange is to blame not us spurs fans. Exciting football every pundit claims he plays I’m sorry I don’t see it. Ange had us leave FA cup and caraboa cup in the early stages and had no extra games so he is to blame for no trophies. If ange carries on the way he is being arrogant towards us he won’t last very long at our club I’m sorry to say and I say this on behalf of most spurs fans.
I’m one of them that was very happy we lost against city ngl because arsenal shal not win the league. Imo I would go all out and bring in Diego simeone from athletic Madrid to come and start a new era with us and deliver titles if only levy gives him big funds

I think it is time for all involved with Tottenham to have a deep look at their involvement in the clubs failure to succeed. That includes the Board, Levy, Coaching staff, players and supporters. We didn’t come by the adjective “Spursy” by accident. It’s an accurate assessment over time of our penchant for bottling under pressure or having an agenda counter to our professed goal of succeeding.
