@@jamesnorman9160 If she lives in the United States both parties have to sign the divorce papers, and divorce lawyers can be expensive.
@@RowanAvery1375 I figured as much, but it's still shit she lived in fear for those 8 years, and what's the chances her ex did it on purpose too?
@@jamesnorman9160 I'll answer that obviously rhetorical question for you: the chances are excruciatingly high that he did that on purpose to try to scare her back to his side. Fear is a powerful persuasive tool, and an act like that is also easy to hide with "I was just so devastated that I lost her, boo hoo feel bad for me" if questions of intent *are* brought up. Never mind the fact that acting like that is so cartoonishly ridiculous to the point of it being a literal caricature of romantic comedy characters.
The remaining chance is mostly for the possibility of severe mental illness. He was in the military, and even if it was for a short period of time, sometimes that can really mess someone up. Not everyone is made for it. However, if I were a betting man...

@@punu3675 My step-dad cheated on my mom. He married the woman he cheated with. She treated him horribly. She treated my brother horribly too. Crazy tirades. Violent tendencies. My step-dad died in his fifties, way too early. I've always suspected that there was foul play because she got everything after he died and my brother didn't get anything. He didn't even want money. Thank you for putting the story about abusive boyfriends/husbands, but remember women can be abusive and killers too. Stay safe guys!
Abusive people are scum period. It is heavily skewed towards men doing that kind of abuse but itâs not exclusive.
Men just get the bad reputation as the most likely suspects in an abusive relationship as they are less likely to report it. Apparently its not 'macho' or 'manly' to seek help when needed, which let's face it is bs.
There's that viral video where when the woman was abusing the man in public, people laughed or even egged her on.
When the guy was abusing the girl in public, people immediately intervened and reprimanded him and separated them.
That says it all.
Hear hear.
@@Richard_Nickerson It might be the WWYD video. I watched it if it's the same one, on the one where the girl is verbally and physically abusive toward the male one of the people who walked by was a off duty police officer who basically just shrugged and said he probably deserved it.
Umm, I think that advice should be extended to guys too. My ex indirectly threatened to kill me and my 1 year old niece. We were long distance but saw each other often enough. We broke up after about 3 years... She told me she was cheating on me. I tried to forgive her and even went through some hard times. She was not supportive and broke up with me. This happened almost every 3 months like clockwork throughout our time together. Finally, tired of her, I denied her crocodile tears and pleas to return as my lover. I told her that I had moved on. As we hadn't seen each other for about 4 months. She begged and called and threatened to show up at my job and make a scene. Voicemail. She threatened to kill herself (her common tactic.) Voicemail. Then, she called again and left a voicemail... It was of her firing a gun on her father's property. She said "do you hear that? Pick up the phone!" Mind you, most of these texts and VM were here fluidly flipping between sadness and anger. Ignored this as she didn't know where I lived anymore. My family frequented my job so I got worried but kinda sat on this development for about half a day when she called again. Shooting the gun calling me the n-word (i am black..) She then threatened my niece, someone she knows i love dearly and was hardly a year old. I called her back and threatened to call the cops if she bothered me or my family again bc I had saved every VM and Text. Its been over 2 years and have not heard from her.
Smart man to save the info, CYA.
....she reminds me of my own ex-girlfriend, what with the threatening to kill herself thing. she threatened one too many times, and the last time she did that to me, she stopped responding. i knew where she lived. i was scared she'd actually gone through with harming herself. called the cops on her and got her committed for a mental health eval. she was stuck in a psych ward for two weeks. it turned out she'd just gone to bed without telling me that she was doing so, but she never threatened again after that.
moral of the story? if someone is threatening, take it super seriously and get professionals involved right away. it's 50/50 whether or not they are serious or just using the threat to manipulate you (i'm positive she'd been doing the second one), but if you get them help and they weren't serious, they aren't gonna pull that shit again. having the cops pretty well break down your door, then getting hauled off to the psych ward for eval is not much fun, according to my ex. it's a good way to put your foot down, too. like, "I care about your stupid ass and I'mma make sure you aren't doing anything stupid." should have called on her waaaaay sooner than i did, to be honest. she needed help, though not of the 'this person is a danger to herself' variety.
Oh my God, maybe she didnât want to go to jail.
That one about the girl staying with her ex's parents tells me that he's not just out of a females life, but out of his own family as well. I hope he found it worth it... Dirtbag!
I did love the fact that they let her stay with them for bit
I hope she filed Domestic Violence charges for him grabbing her by the neck.

I wanna tell my "caught SO cheating" story!
We had been dating for almost a year and I thought it was going well, but one day my mother pointed out that I paid for most of our dates and my SO wouldn't ever come over on their own accord, unless of course I was paying for something. We were childhood friends and talked on Facebook a lot, and when I got suspended a week into our relationship, it turns out that they immediately started dating a man from Ohio. I found out when my relative snooped my Ex's facebook and saw all these posts denoting their "undying love" for each other. They had been cheating on me for our ENTIRE relationship. Broke it up with them the moment I knew and never talked to them again.
Honestly? For the stalker one, to all people- don't let your significant other talk to you like that.
I've had experiences from both genders (pansexual and I had a habit of seeking out abusive partners due to previous trauma) and both are equally terrifying. I couldn't get away from it either.
I lived in fear for a long time when the first experience happened. I was 12. An older man groomed me, and when I finally got the courage to break it off, he threatened to find me (he'd been pressuring me to tell him where my address was), r*** me, and kill me and my family.
It continued from there while I struggled with undiagnosed ptsd and dealt with abusive parents.
Basically, if someone says they're going to kill you? If they stalk you? Don't give them a single damn chance. Do whatever you can to get away. Doesn't matter if they have a mental illness. Your priorities need to be your own safety. They can get help but you are *not* responsible and shouldn't excuse abusive behavior.
Stay safe.
I see, that's a real sad story, hope you're doing better.

I could relate to the stalking story.
I used to work at a restaurant a few months back. And i was the only girl there. It also didnt helped that i was assigned the evening shifts. One of the guys was being kinda creepy so I ignored him and avoided him as much as i could during our shifts. A few things that really stuck to me were the things he used to 'joke' about
1) slashing my car tyres
2) sneaking into my car when i go home
3) wanting me to pick him up and drop him off at his house when he doesn't have transportation. Spoiler: he does. So idk why he even say that
And the climax; he quit the job a month later but would still come hang at the restaurant because he's still friends with the other staffs. But he would always stare at me or side eyed me during his entire stay.
I told the assistant manager about his behavior and he and some of the guys had been on the look out. The AM even changed my shift to mornings.
Last week i quit the job because of health issues. He has tried to video called and texted me some about unrelated stuffs out of the blue. I blocked his number immediately. Then i saw him walking around my neighbourhood whilst on my way home from grocery shopping. Luckily my brother was the one driving. When the creep saw my car, he tried to follow us. My brother took some random turns to throw him off and we drove off back to the grocery shop. We had to wait for a long while to make sure that he's gone before going home.
I've been super anxious and paranoid since then. Barely going out of the house
Ladies, please take such threats seriously no matter how stupid the guy sounds. People around me didn't take it seriously at first because he's much younger than me. I'm mid 20's while he's barely 18.
Please please please take precautions and stay safeđ
Many years ago in the 90's I had a female friend who was being harassed. People who didn't live there would go to the empty room above hers and party loudly then stomp down the stairs and knock on her door repeatedly asking her to party with them. She didn't know them, didn't like them and was becoming afraid for her safety and asked if I could help. Then we hatched a plan. she would go to work that evening (She worked nights) and I would stay at her apartment to keep on eye on things, I brought a book. The friend was big into anime so to pretend it was her I put the VCR tape for Ranma 1/2 in and started reading. I don't care much for anime. Four hours everything was still quiet until about 11:30 PM when I heard multiple people going upstairs. They jimmied the door upstairs went in and started drinking and dancing (loud in an empty apartment) they did that for about a half hour then tromped down the stairs and knocked on her door. I waited for the second knock and whipped the door open looking them straight in the eye, all I said was "What." The look on their faces alone was worth it. They asked who I was. "Her boyfriend" A lie just a protective male friend. They didn't come back especially when I mentioned possibly calling the cops.
@@maineiac114 I wish there are more people like you that steps in and help before the 'unthinkable' happens. Thanks for sharingđ
My stalker wasn't nearly as hostile as Khalida's, but it took me eight months to realize I was being stalked in the first place. Made me very uncomfortable wondering how often it happened, since it was a daily occurrence after I became aware. The worst part was that the mutual friends between me and my stalker almost all supported her, not me, the victim. If the genders had been reversed, I'm sure it would have been different. Unfortunately, college students really don't care if a woman stalks a man. Even Title IX didn't care. The only reason the stalking stopped is because I graduated and stopped living on campus.

The advice Iâve told my friends about their toxic relationships is; think about your situation from a friends perspective. If a friend was telling you your situation, would you tell them itâs okay? If not, leave. Weâre always less tolerant of abusive behaviour when itâs happening to a loved one. Most abuse happens so slowly you donât even realise and itâs difficult to leave because you donât notice how bad it is, you have strong feelings or youâre terrified to do so. So people saying âget outâ doesnât help, because itâs rarely that easy. But please listen to people who love you when they say theyâre worried and tell someone if youâre worried. Just remember! The way you get with them is probably the way youâll lose them.
My beautiful, loving wife and I have been married for over 44 years, with continuing faithfulness by both of us. I firmly believe that the cheating partner in a marriage shouldn't receive ANY financial benefits, not "half", etc., and in most circumstances should NOT be given custody of any children if they were at fault. Obviously there may be exceptions, but I'm really tired of hearing about people messing around and walking away with half the assets a couple has accumulated over time. I'm also amazed at those who actually think that they can "change" that abusive guy or girl "if they could only marry them". I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but its very rare that some girl or guy is going to change because they married you. If they cheated on THEIR spouse to marry you, they've ALREADY proven themselves to be untrustworthy, so what makes YOU think they won't do it again?
And it makes me wonder how a couple like that could have walked down the aisle with a sparkle in their eye as they looked forward to what the future held for their life together.
