Maybe if it happens when you use the tablet it could be that you have the same problem I had for a long time and I just discovered (today). The button on the pen inverts the brushes, so they give you the impression of not working.

    I wouldn't be averse to you doing a tutorial on exoside's quad remesher. I think it's the same dude that did ZRemesher for ZBrush, which I know how to use. I tried it first in Blender on very low poly meshes to create nice retopos not high rez meshes and I wanted to vertex paint where I wanted more and where I wanted less like ZBrush and I was like, uh, it didn't even color a vert... I don't have any issues with weight painting, it colors verts on low poly models no problemo. (I get the resolution issue, but _can_ I vertex color a single point? I saw a guy color a single point with a direct input, but I forgot where and how he did that... is the only way to retopologize a low to mid low poly mesh, by hand!? I was hoping not, given Blender loves ngons, but Painter would rather have quads. Even with triplanar, there are occasional issues if the mesj is _too_ low poly.
    All I wanted in Blender was a way to retopologize a too low poly mesh after booling the crap out of it, into something that looks nice for another person to see, if they inspect my work. (Ok, not completely true, it just textures/shades better too, and UV unwraps more rationally.) Then I saw some issues occasionally with Substance Painter with meshes too low poly. For now, I do the detailing with a sculpting tool (watched to see if Blender's was "good enough" and I still don't know, but I think probably not (!)) and bake out the details to a normal map for game assets, (so going low to high in a workflow for game assets, than the usual high to low) and to use to make an ID Map in Painter while I bake the normal to get around not knowing how to vertex paint... and use that for ID Maps... I'm not going into ZBrush to convert vertex groups into polygroups and wonder if I remembered to flip the Y or something. Freakin' ZBrush...!

      @@PonteRyuurui I thought so, but then ran into this type of problem with this first concept Mando flamethrower, imgur.com/a3FQiVm. See the imperfections on the corner top front left, or the edges of the insert where you put the forearm? See the buttons?
      Say I don't want to have to destroy them while I retopologize the rest of the mesh? The only thing I could think of is separating it, and then play vert dance back. See the cut out on top in the front (a logo would go there), it looks like a partial box bool with beveled corners? It needed more attention to keep the nice curve, sharps weren't enough.
      Idr if I made tri into quads before doing ZBrush, and maybe that's the only issue that created the normal bake keeping the imperfections, but it would be nice if I can paint small areas to have higher density, and like the outer arm thing to have less, that's all I'm thinking.

  • @HanSolocambo
    @HanSolocambo Před rokem +2

    The flatten brush is just terrible in Blender. It pulls material up. Can't get it to behave with what I'm used to in ZBrush. Scrape tool, with customized brush settings, gives way ! more a the feeling of a flattening brush than this so called "flatten" brush.
    Many brushes are weird anyway. Even the clay one tends to flatten if we press gently and suddenly behaves normally and "adds" material when we press a bit more.
