I don't even get the idea of some parents just leaving their child unattended and just leaving, that alone should be a security call.
I used to be a librarian for a few years. Every summer, parent would drop their children off and go to work or whatever else they wanted to do. These kiddos would be unsupervised for over 8 hours. Some of the parent used to drop their kid off before the library was open, and the child had to wait outside until we opened. We would tell them to wait in front of the glass door so we could try and keep an eye on them. One of our custodial service reps told a child, in a respectable manner, to stop running in the library. The mother was told and she came into the library with a knife. The police were called. It ridiculous what some parents are capable of. This is one of the reasons why I found another job.
Yeah exactly. Thatâs literally child neglect.
Unfortunately apparently people do this everywhere i worked in a comics/vintage nerd memorabilia store on a military base and parents would leave their brats for hours sometimes even leaving but i was not allowed to do anything but try and watch them

I read a story on Reddit where a firefighter responded to a fire at a grocery store, and he witnessed a customer not only refuse to evacuate the store, but she was screaming in a managerâs face (the manager of the department _where the fire was_ mind you) because she wanted to shop in that section and couldnât. OP walked straight up to the woman and yelled âF*** OFF!â in her face because he knew the manager couldnât do it. The customer actually called OPâs boss and filed against him, but he only got a mild lecture about screaming the f-word at people.
Should have let her in
Hahaha..ha.....ha......oh our species is just.....ahhhgh

If im not wrong, story 4 had grounds for wrongful termination. he could've filed a lawsuit against gamestop because firing someone for a tweet and a mother's absent behaviour is not proper grounds for termination.
That mother should should have been thankful that guy alerted security. She was definitely would not have been a victim if the kid was kidnapped. She left the kind unattended for 2 hours and wasn't even in the same building. I really do hope that guy countersued the woman for getting him fired, and the DM for wrongful termination.
While I don't agree with it, at will states can fire you for any reason except for discrimination.
@@KiinyoWest Next up: Gamestop fires employee that saves child from pedophile in store.

You know what? I just laughed when I saw the FREAKING PICTURE OF TANJIRO ON THE THUMBNAIL đ
About the restaurant with the rashes. Just send anonymous letters to the health department and get them to investigate. Just tell them you were a customer and nervous about eating any food there since you had no idea what was going on. Just tell them you returned your food and left.
For the people being fired after refusing to break the law (serving alcohol to minors) or not lying to customers (claiming the monetary glitch was intentional) should definitely sue! Companies definitely shouldnât be able to profit over such stuff and take it out on the employees when theyâre denied.
Company policies don't supersede the law.
I almost got fired from my first job because of several things I posted on Facebook (It was a fast food joint in an uppity neighborhood, I was 17) One day one of the other guys confronted the boss (very loudly) about how he knew what we posted on social media. He indirectly admitted to stalking a bunch of us online to make sure what we posted "fit the culture" of his fast food franchise chain. The job paid $7.25 and he thought we all had to censor ourselves to not make him look bad.
I had an interview for a very good pay job. I passed the test and was approved to receive the job. However, at the orientation it was required that we make a social media page. I told the one orientating that that I will never be a member of a true social media network. A semi-anonymous CZcams rant is the closest I would get and that is a video sharing network that allows commentary. The woman then told me it was a requirement to work there. I simply stood up and said, "Thank you for your time," and left. I do not know why a social media network page was a requirement for a job servicing, repairing, and configuring communication equipment. I never asked. I will never have a true social media network page. I know nobody. Nobody knows me. I have no family in the continent I reside. There is no reason to have a drama net account.
Sounds like you played yourself, tbh. All you had to do was make a social media account for work purposes, lol.
@@socialmoon Fair point, but the requirement to have a social media page probably would have had other more invasive requirements attached to it. My guess is it would have been the tip of the iceberg.

My boss tried to fire me for a post I made about the store I worked at. The thing is, though, I didn't name the store in my post and also didn't have my workplace listed on my profile. I was very careful. I even had my account set to private and put it on my personal Facebook page. But one of my "friends" took a screenshot and sent it to my boss. He called me into his office and confronted me about it but after I pointed out that there was nothing in the post to indicate where I worked he had to admit that he couldn't justify firing me and instead gave me a warning.
Honestly it's kinda creepy if your employer is stalking your social media to find incriminating evidence to fire you. Unless you're posting horrendous things and offensive hot takes, then yeah that's probably concerning. But if you're getting fired over taking pics of yourself at a bar having a good time and living your life, that's pretty petty. They're mad they can't have fun like you I suppose
Itâs not the employers themselves that look thru ppls social media, they most likely have a HR look at the socials

For the GameStop one, I think the mother threatened to sue them over losing custody of her child over child neglect for leaving them there for two whole hours while a p*dophile was on the loose, claiming it was the employee's fault for her negligence, then about a couple of weeks after firing the employee, the district manager and regional manager were fired by the GameStop higher-ups for falsely terminating someone.

As for the fake id firing, in my state a call to the Alcohol Beverage Commission would have an undercover sting going in no time.
Not me but a couple of agency nurses. They got DNR'd at the hospital I work at because they posted a picture of beer in a patient food fridge and captioned it "Guess where I'm working tonight?" I really don't get the whole sounding thing.
Also, one story from mine but not from getting fired. On the opposite, i was never contracted for the most prettiest and idiotic reasons: "not having social media or active one". Similar to Story 11.
YEAH!!! Not been active on social media is considerate a point of content for not getting hired. I literally face palmed and start to think: "I'm better off working myself in what i like before i literally plant a bomb to this people and blew them to bits". And btw! i had social media, only not a type of personal one but one with my artist name instead. I decide to work on my own and said to this type of works: "HAHA! NO!!! my life, my choice, my PRIVACY"
For that i make a new account related to that and speak in HR tone all the time. But YOU WONT GET ANYTHING PERSONAL out of me, my ideas, opinions, facts or any other bs that can be user of as emotional blackmail or termination blackmail by exploitative pricks.
Same to me. I don't like social media. I have seen everybody who get deeply involved getting crazy, getting extremist political views, or getting sadder...also, when I used it a little, I have bad luck and someone (I suspect it was a particular person I know) stalked me.
I don't want to share my life and privacy.
@@genzi78514 Same here. I only had Whatsapp for contact reasons and i only use for that (like emergencies, calls and contact some stores).
@UnitTrace yeah! that is the other side. I know when they don't want to hire people too, as i been study behave and signs from interviewers as well and pick their words and gestures.
Story 4: When I used to work retail, parents would usually leave their children to play in our store, and disappear. After too many incidents, I placed a sign saying if there are any unattended children in the store, police will be called immediately. One mom went up to me and asked if the sign was a joke or serious. I told her it was serious. She didn't believe me, left her kid in the store. I was on the phone to the police within seconds.
Police came, took child away. Mom came back FOUR HOURS later, panic set in. I simply handed her a card the police gave me to give to her.
The next week, she came back screaming at me, saying she lost custody of the child to her ex-husband because of me. I simply walked up to her, nose to nose, and calmly said, 'Good!', then walked away. She was speechless.
This is why I donât use social media anymore (with the exception of CZcams)

Not me but someone I worked with. He had decided he was going to quit after his next shift (he had a couple days off before then). Being a high school kid he thought it would be really funny to make a tiktok with the store's phone number telling people to call and ask about a particular product of ours. It went somewhat viral and the phone was ringing off the hook which really disrupted productivity. It didn't take long to find the video and piece together what happened. He didn't get the chance to quit...
Another healthcare instance - i worked at a place where one of the nurses who care for children posted they couldn't believe they had taken care of the child of a guy on a local sports team. She didn't name the team, or the guy, but only one athlete in the area had a child that age who was in the hospital. Even though she didn't name anyone specifically, the patient was still identifiable, so she was fired. And for nurses (and doctors or PTs, or anyone with a license), these things are ethics violations that can get your license revoked and destroy your career.

I live in Israel, and we have mandatory army service- but orthodox Jewish women don't have to serve, since army service may not allow them to keep their religious lifestyle and modesty (before y'all jump in with how it's a petty excuse, many of them volunteer for service or volunteer to help the community in other places like hospitals or schools instead of the army).
Anyway, apparently there were multiple cases where women claimed to be orthodox so they wouldn't have to serve; but then the officers checked their Facebook and found pictures in bikinis and stuff like that, so they got caught lying and were forced to enlist.

Corporate found out, told me about the group, and told me to take a week off. I returned to find they'd fired me, and promoted the female manager and several of the ringleaders in the group. Made sense for them to get rid of one person Vs firing a dozen people, but that doesn't make it right.
That sound like grounds for wrongful termination... How's that bowling alley doing now?
@@siphonicwheat167 it's been taken over by another company. The female manager who bullied me the most is now the general manager. The guy who ran the Facebook group is now a manager. A lot of the other staff have changed. I think the techs are the same crew. No idea how it's doing financially.
I got a job in a different industry. I didn't want to take on a multi million pound company. Ended up earning nearly twice my previous wage though
26th story, such funny voice acting. good job :D
