- Find out if the water flossing toothbrush, the Waterpik Sonic-Fusion is any good. A detailed hands on and opinion video, that comes after several weeks of testing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Conceptually, I like the idea of the Sonic-Fusion.
In reality, I am a bit disappointed.
It has failed to wow me.
The toothbrush is satisfactory. It cleans the teeth, but it makes an irritating noise. The battery life is poor.
The water flossing works, but the brush head rather than nozzle design limits the suitability for certain users.
Waterpik have a solid reputation for water flossers and sadly, I don’t think this shows off the best of Waterpik, combining of the two hasn’t really paid off.
It is innovative, and for some, the convenience of the dual purpose device like this will be a game changer, but for what it is worth, my opinion is to stick to separate items.
Arrived today from Amazon - haven't opened the box yet. Wish I had seen this before ordering. Unopened, so going back. Thank You
Wow! Excellent review! Bravo! (It’s going back to Costco.)
Thanks Mark. There is a newer version 2.0 which we are about to review. Although there appear to be some improvements, our conclusion is likely to be similar.
Thanks for the thorough and educational review.
Great video! Thanks for the helpful review
Outstanding reviews always.
Thank you. ☺
AWESOME REVIEW! Thank you! I was ready to press Check Out to order one, and hesitated for just a moment and thought I should look for reviews. Thank you for saving me from a product I would have really been disappointed in!
No problem. Pleased I saved you from a potentially poor purchase.
@@ElectricTeeth thank you for this, was going to buy this on sale (first time buying electric toothbrush and water flosser) but my gut feeling was what you confirmed. Going with the complete care set. Now a question, which is best- rotating or sonic brush head? Thanks again!
Short answer is both are more than good enough when used correctly.
The rotating heads typically are considered slightly better, but it isn't conclusive. And to add that the studies that find the oscillating to be better are normally testing Oral-B products as opposed to Waterpik.
Main thing is to pick one, use it correctly and ensure other parts of your oral care routine are great, like brushing for 2 minutes, flossing etc.
I just bought one and I love it. My teeth feels so much cleaner. I’m glad I bought one.
Rite but he is saying the separate flosser is better. This product is better than nothing though.
Ummmm grammar grammar. Teeth "feel". LOL glad you like it though.NOTE: You can edit posts if you mess up. Just click on the 3 dots on the right and click edit. I just did it.
You didn't floss by hand before this did you? I think lf you really flossed by hand you would know that just squirting water in your teeth is no comparison to wrapping floss around base of teeth
I like your honesty, I’m glad you brought up the noise factor. I’m not a fan of noise.
Great review. I appreciate the effort you put into these videos. Saved me $150 because I was about to act on impulse and buy one. I think I'll get the water flosser by waterpik instead. 👍
Great to hear Nathaniel.
DITTO
I bought the newer version the sonic-fusion 2.0 water pik for $119.00 at cosco. And it comes with 5 or 8 backup tooth brush all with built in water floss.
I have it and love it. It gives you three options for use. If you run out of water you can refill. You can also turn the brush back on. You can get this unit on sales many different places. Brushes can also go on sale. I don’t need to have two different units taking up space on my vanity.
I bought it for 110 dollars at Costco and it came with 10 extra brush heads, at first I wasn't so sure but after a few days I got the hang of it as long as you keep it between 4 and 5 you'll get more than enough pressure and you'll be able to finish brushing and flossing simultaneously at the same time before you ran out of water the 30 seconds intervals makes it easy to know when to move from one area to the next area is easy but I guess if you want pressure higher than 6 you would have to refill again, I'm definitely keeping mine I think the naysayers are very critical of it because it used to be very expensive, if you buy a quality electric toothbrush like the Sonic care and a good water flosser you will still end up paying 200 dollars, and because I bought it at Costco I practically can take it back even after a year if I want to return it but I won't because I love this gadget.
just ordered it should get it tomorrow, will test it out, see if its worth it. thx for the review.
Please do let me know what you think.
@@ElectricTeeth very easy to setup, as per instructions can charge it for at least 20 minutes, which I did, tested the brush only, felt a little funny on my gums but got use to it quickly, made all the excess liquid funnel out of my month over the sink, then used the water pick, real easy real simple, I have no knocks on it, its does not take up a lot of space on my small vanity good product.
have to admit it makes brushing fun, I'll test out brush/floss combo later on today, 😃
ok update, the double action setting of brush and water floss at the same time?
actually not good because? it actually rinses out the toothpaste out of your mouth early so u dont get that good toothpaste lather. so one then the other is your best option. (to me) 😃
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
thanks for the detailed review, i was about to pick one up. I thought the big advantage was the ability to brush as the water is hitting your teeth same time sounded great.
Think I'll go the other direction as you said... get both.
If you are a cosco member. I recommend you get the white water pik sonic-fusion 2.0 over that old model. Just got mine today and I love the easy to use and less complication to deal with. The sonic-fusion 2.0 tooth brush has the built-in water pik. You can brush it alone or floss first or just do both at the same time. Very convenience and well worth the investment. Got mine at cosco for $119.00 before tax.
Saved me from buying one. I prefer a separate flosser that takes up less space, as I already have an electric brush.
Does the toothbrush head have compatible fit as those from
Philips sonicare one? Also why the ION and SIDEKICK model are not available in UK. All the models sold in UK are only the big bulky ones.
Sonicare brush heads don't fit onto this, you have to use the Waterpik original heads.
I don't know why Waterpik have not made these models available in the UK. Demand likely has something to do with it.
Yeah that noise was a pain, thank you for helping me save over $100 by avoiding such an ungodly noise
I got the Professional one in Walgreens for $170
Got the Professional for $150 on Amazon. I'm fine with not having the best waterpik or best toothbrush, the convenience of an all-in-one for me is what sold me.
Cool video. When the brush is unplugged from the cord, can you still use the water flosser function? I would assume no, right? Bcus the cord is where the water travels through from the reservoir..i just thought maybe theres a smaller reservoir within the brush itself...lol. thanks man.
You are correct. The water flosser only works when the cord is connected to the handle. It will too only work when connected to power.
Ugh got this for my mom for Christmas, I was really hoping for a good review.
Very good review. A simple Q. Do you use tooth past with this unit?
Yes you can do. Less effective if using water at the same time as its rinsed aware. If using as a regular electric brush (without water) then yes for sure.
I have a separate waterpik and philips sonicare toothbrush but they are both extremely old and the sonicare broke this morning, I have heard that the regular sonic fusion did not brush as nicely or was not as powerful as even the older philips sonicares and also was not as powerful as a standalone waterpik. Does the SF-02 or professional model alleviate those concerns? Will there be other heads for this model like the standalone waterpiks? Do you think this is worth it to replace both of my units for $150 with this or keep my old waterpik and buy another new philips sonicare?
Simply put I think you are best sticking with 2 separate products.
This has been on the market for over a year now, with only 1 style of brush head. There will not be other heads for this model and I can't see how practical they would be, even if they did.
I wish it wasn't so expensive
I like how it looks, but don't see any other Waterpik that looks like that. That said, complete care sounds better.
Be sure to replace your brush heads every 3 months for cleanliness 🤓
People are so ridiculous, crying about the sound. It's the results that matter. All A's from this customer!
Absolutely the results are what matter. Nice if it doesn't sound awful though hey?!
Can you compare sonicare toothbrush with waterpik toothbrush (basic electric models)on both?
I am not sure if you are asking for me to create a video comparison of the Sonic Fusion toothbrush to a basic Sonicare toothbrush or simply asking are they comparable?!
I think it might be tha latter...
In short, if comparing the toothbrush (not the water flosser), any basic Sonicare electric toothbrush is, in my opinion, better than the Sonic-Fusion toothbrush.
Just got one. My biggest complaint is that the unit needs to be in to an outlet for the water flosser.
Indeed it does. No built in battery for the water flosser element, only for the toothbrush.
I always assumed I was flossing when I used mouthwash
Nope, you gotta get in between your teeth with flossing. Mouthwash basically disinfects and repairs but not floss.
It's 2021 now. This review was Sep 4 2019. Are they better now? The noise is just poor engineering if you ask me. My Sonicare is very good. SO I don't want to step down for this LOUD job. If they have made it quieter, I might consider it again.
Hi Terry. I haven't heard of Waterpik having made any changes to this unit. I haven't bought a new one to try for obvious reasons.
Is it just mine or does the toothbrush head not fit flush against the base?
The base being the handle of the toothbrush? There is a small gap that exists between them.
No way that works right, you have to use work and effort with floss scrubbing and wrapping around the base of the tooth
Nickel Hadride battery? That's totally antiquated. It's almost 2020. If a car uses lithium ion batteries than I'm sure a toothbrush can do it too.
Who is this guy? I bought one and like other people-I love it. Teeth feel so much more cleaner. I add mint mouthwash into water
You can use mouthwash instead of water. I plan on adding listering mouthwash instead of using plain water for flossing.
3 year warranty? In the UK it is 2 years.
Hi Julia. The warranty periods are different in the UK and the USA. The USA gets the better 3 year deal compared to the 2 year warranty in the UK.
Or long story short just brush your teach with you tooth brush and buy a water floss by its self
Best teeth on a Brit I've ever seen.
Ironic isn't it? 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Wuh mate? Stop trollein meih
🤣
Would it be a good purchase if it was being sold for $50?
I think at that price yes. However, I don't think it is the best example of water flosser or electric toothbrush. $80-100 and you could have 2 very good separate ones potentially.
The replacement heads are $15 each roughly so 50 dollars isn't 50 dollars for long
@@ElectricTeeth what other suggestions can you make?
How does the unit power off?
It either automatically powers off at the end of the cleaning cycle or you can turn it off by pressing the button.
How do you get it to prime pump?
Prime Unit (First Time Use Only)
Point the brush head tip into the sink. Press the Floss button and repeatedly rotate
the pressure control dial between low and high until water flows.
After water flows from the nozzle, press the FLOSS button to turn water OFF.
My flosser went out within a month on this product.
Oh no Lillie. Have you contacted Waterpik?
@@ElectricTeeth Yes I have, unfortunately due to the Corona Virus, the product can't be returned. I did have a warranty, so now I'm waiting to see how they'll honor it. Hopefully, I'll know today!
My flosser just ceased to work within a year, but I am just getting around to contacting them-I was surprised by the 3 year warranty. Hopefully, you had success with them.
@@kittyroosky Yrs, actually I did. The product manufacturer sent me an entirely new one. Hopefully, the new device doesn't stop working suddenly. Good luck!
Why don’t you demonstrate
Demonstrate what exactly Jerry? There are numerous clips throughout the video that show me using it.
I don't think you're supposed to use the flossing mechanism as you're brushing your teeth simultaneously I think you're supposed to brush your teeth and then when you're done brushing your teeth then you use the flossing mechanism as you would have waterpik.
When you combine functions into a single product you usually compromise. This is an example of it. Keeping brush and waterpik as two separate step is far more effective.
Have you used this Brian yourself to come to that conclusion or are you just agreeing with us based on your experience from other products?
It is a shame that combining comes with sacrifices.
Electric Teeth I had a hunch about this not being good and went looking for information to see if it could be shown otherwise.
Thanks for saving people money.
My thoughts on bullshit shampoos and conditioners combined.
The sound is actually unpleasant high pitch
Maybe take 5-10 seconds from the end of the video for more income
Hey can you help me switching brushes on colgate 360 sonicare?
Hi. You are looking to move from the Colgate 360 to a Sonicare electric toothbrush? Or you need help changing the brush heads on a Sonicare 360 toothbrush?
This verses Aquarius?
Hi Donovan. If you are requesting a video comparison, this is not something I am likely able to do in the foreseeable future.
I can say that my recommendation would be to use an electric toothbrush and the Aquarius instead of the Waterpik Sonic-Fusion.
Hi
you should do more giveaways.
We haven't ruled out doing more. 👍
@@ElectricTeeth cool
I was very disappointed when I opened the box, the brush is 1/3 the size of a water pic brush and the vibration is too fine, the tank is too small, runs out before I'm done. it is cute and looks like it was made for a child. I guess it could be good to travel, but that's not what was advertised and that's not the reason I bought it. when I received notification that it was coming the next day I threw away the old water pic and my electric tooth brush, and yesterday was trash day. So now I'm stuck with it,
They needed a new product. Attached, like a regular water pick is unacceptable. They should have had a small reservoir in the toothbrush itself, that would be refillable. (Bulk being a problem) It has a cool color.....uh...thats about it. Nothing like standing water next to my toilet. Travel defeats the purpose. No UV and poor battery. Sonic should have innovated. It's a bit weird hearing a British accent talk about dental hygiene. I kid, I kid. One can just use cheap floss and brush. The Sonic Diamond with UV series is what I've used for years. It's a very decent product. Cheap replacement heads etc etc. Interesting review. (Anything will sell, that can aid us in being lazier)
To expensive .
Very noisy.
Yes, it is isn't it.
I used it and it is horrible dont buy it.
Thanks for the feedback Chris.
What didn't you like about it?
Chris Baker What was horrible about it?
@@autumnspring6624 It was loud, it was messy, it didnt always work. I returned it and walmart gave me my money back. Definitely not worth a $170.
First
I can’t trust a person talking about this with bad teeth
Bad teeth?
Perfectly set of healthy natural teeth here.
I am presume you consider them bad as they are not perfectly straight and bright white?
NICOLE B I think he has nice teeth. Fake white "perfect" teeth are just so boring.
It also makes a wonderful bidet 😄
Bad teeth? Wym they look normal, you probably think normal teeth are white 🤦♂️
gurl you need to get your hair did before you throw stones
