Note: When you first use the 4100, a low power mode is activated to help you get used to the power of the vibrations. You can turn it off by putting the brush on the charger and holding the power button for two seconds. :)

Hi thanks for the review. Just bought this on Amazon Prime for $55. What brush heads option do I have ? Can I use the normal non-RFID heads to save some money ? Or do I need to use the G2 / W2 ones ?
You can use non rfid chips but of course you won't get the same benefits.
I agree that the basic is the best value. I've owned more expensive sonicares that had more options but in everyday use, I rarely used any other modes than just the basic brush mode. I've only bought the base model sonicares since then. I'm using the latest 4100 model and it's perfect for my needs.

Agree. Been using sonicare for 10+ yrs and have always used the base models. The extra features are 100% unnecessary as most ppl just use a single setting all the time.

I want to know the difference between the brush heads diamond clean brush head or premium white wich is the new version wich one is better have you tried it?

Yes, we have tried both brush heads.
The 2 brush heads are very similar, yet different.
If you are using a BrushSync enabled brush like the ProtectiveClean 4100, 5100 or 6100 our suggesiton would be to go for the W3 Premium White.
The DiamondClean head can remove up to 100% more stains for whiter teeth in just 7 days.
The W3 Premium White on the other hands is effective at removing plaque and staining on the tooth surfaces. Within just 3 days whiter teeth are possible.
The DiamondClean head features a central stain-removal pad, made from densely packed diamond-shaped bristles, to remove surface stains caused by food, drinks and smoking and ultimately help whiten the teeth.
The Prmeium White is capable of removing up to 10 times more plaque than a manual brush, whilst achieving 4 times more surface contact. It has too flexible sides that lets the bristles move to the exact shape of your teeth and mouth whilst absorbing excess pressure.
Philips development team have engineered both brush heads to make best use of the sonic motion that a Sonicare handle can offer. The dynamic fluid action that is created as a result of the high frequency and high-amplitude brush movements works to offer a deep cleaning action from all areas of the brush head, driving fluid deep between the teeth and along the gumline.
Blue reminder bristles on both heads fade to white and help you recognise when it’s time for a replacement. For optimal results, replace your brush head every three months.
On the Prmeium White head though, thanks to a built in chip, when you fit it onto a compatible brush handle, the microchip communicates with the brush handle to launch the optimum cleaning mode and intensity level for the most effective plaque removal experience.

This is a great question and one that is truly difficult to answer because of the limited information Sonicare offers about its brushing modes and intensities.

But, essentially it is very similar.
The gum care mode on the 5100 for example is a lower powered, more gentle cleaning action which is more like using the 6100 on a low or medium intensity.
The difference with 6100 is that you have the choice to adapt the modes more to find something that suits you best.
Hi! I was wondering if you can do a review on a true ultrasonic toothbrush such as the Megasonex, Emmi-dent, or Smilex toothbrush?
Or some of the more unconventional (but somewhat widely commercial or known) toothbrush options such as the Glaresmile toothbrush, Helix Rotary toothbrush, Quip, Blast toothbrush, Blizzident full mouth toothbrush, the Amabrush, or the Triple-bristle Sonic Electric toothbrush?

Hi, I travel a lot between from the US to Asia (primarily India). Which model would be better for me? Would the recommended model have dual voltage provisions (like laptops)?
I would suggest the 5100 or 6100 because they come with a travel case, which will allow you to protect the handle and brush head when you are in transit. The charging stand does support the dual voltages as I understand it. You will simply need a plug adapter.
Hi, I would like to ask any opinions on usefulness of the intensity setting? For 4100 and 5100, are they the same intensity of 6100 high? Also, what is the difference between compact and standard head?

As far as I am aware, the brushing speed of the 4100 and 5100 (which do not have brushing intensity modes) is the same as the 6100, when set to the highest of its 3 brushing intensities.
The different intensity settings can be useful if you want a more powerful or more gentle brushing experience. Those with tender gums may enjoy the less intense brushing. Generally I would suggest using the highest setting, if you find it comfortable, to get the maximum cleaning effects.
I would not suggest getting the 6100, just for the intensity settings unless you feel this would be really useful for you.
The difference between the standard and compact head is the brush head size. Most people can use the standard head. The compact head is smaller and works better in small mouths or where the teeth are very cramped and there is little room for movement of the brush head.

1. What changes with the different brush modes on the 5100? Does the intensity for each mode change automatically?
The intensity of the brushing is technically a different setting/option to the brushing modes.
But, each brushing mode is configured differently. So, yes one mode may not feel as intense or may feel softer than another.
Sonicare don't explain anywhere how they specifically differ. But, some modes use less movements and the amplitude of the motor is adjusted affecting length of the bristles sweeping action and angles to in turn produce a slightly different brushing experience.

Hello , which one is better for sensitive teeth ?
It would be the 6100. Whilst all can be perfectly fine for sensitive teeth, the 6100 has a more gentle gum care mode as well as the option to change the brushing intensity, so you should find the perfect mode/configuration for you.
How does the Sonicare 4100 compare to the Sonicare Easyclean?
Fundamentally they do the same job. The 4100 is newer with more tech. The 4100 would be my pick of the 2 brushes.
What does it mean if 3 lights are blinking on the 5100? The manual doesn't say
Do you mean the 3 lights that sit above the cleaning modes? Is the brush working as you would expect? Are the lights flashing all the time or what happens?!

Can you use travel charger from 6100 to charge 4100? And the 4100 head bush can be changed to different one?

Yes this might be easier. However, would I then be saying red brush, yellow brush, blue brush, red brush, yellow brush?
What if they named them with colours but that actual brush handle colour was not the same as the name 😱
Easiest thing would be to make fewer models and make things simpler for everyone. However, if they did that I couldn't make videos like this. 🤔

If price isn't an issue, Sonicare 9900 Prestige is the one to go for.
Personally I prefer the cleaning action of Oral-B, but I think the whole package you get with Sonicare is better.

Man I was rooting for the Phillips Sonicare but.. THAT ORAL-B IS WOW!
It leaves an overall fuller clean feel, the screen & app & the perfect size of the actual brush head… man I love it. I love the ring on brush head lights up when the pressure sensor goes off, or how u can choose a color for that ring…
It’s super cool, premium, but VERY EXPENSIVE😳😬 I’m glad I decided to get it, I haven’t shown my Philips 6100 much love since🤣but I do plan too!
I don’t think I’ll get the 9900, not rich lol but I’ll give an update if ever did in future 👋
