In the previous video we removed the turbo from the car. In this video, we are installing a ko3 Hybrid turbo from Turbo Dynamics into the car. We should be set to see about 280BHP once the kit is installed!

The last video was the definitions of breaking the veil of mechanics and how to approach to problems i love it raw experience. It took me 2 days to figure out how to line up the oil banjo. I ended up resting the whole turbo on the axle, didn't honestly think that would line up but fuck me I guess

Got a bbt k300 on my 1.8t.
Struggled to limit it to 280hp on the dyno.
They’re absolute rippers
To explain it simple,the hotside and compressor side from k03 turbo gets milled bigger, so you can put in bigger internals in turbo, bigger is more flow, more flow more power. Only dont think you gonna see 300 horses with that turbo more like 260-270 tops

Yea they took the stock one and added the k03s cartridge but mine has a silencer where the I take connects and the regular k03 doesn’t have that
And the k03 has 12 splines and the k03s has 8

K03s comes Stock in 180hp 1.8t like seat cupra or 25 anniversary golf. Its limit is around 220hp. Injectors will quit at 200hp anyways. Should have taken the k04001 which has one side of k03 and one side of k04. Can make up to 260hp. Next step would be full k04 but you need other manifold and down pipe. This will make 300hp then
K04-023 tops around 280 and that is pushing the turbo to the limit :D
@@rodneckbuilds no Joke? K04001 makes so much more sense then. It's just not worth changing headers and dp for 20 hp more. Btw I'm talking German horsepower here. So it's engine power, not that crazy wheel hp you guys are talking 😉
The ko3s came in 150hp AUM engines

I've just fitted a hybrid core to a KO3-052 (KO3S) All went well but having issues with general driving now, air fuel ratios all over the show, popping and banging on wide open throttle at low rpm (sub 3k). Are you experiencing the same problems? I'm guess it just need remmaping again?!
Yeah a reliable mapper would make sure errors are all okay with boost leaks ect , I would get it mapped and checked again!
You should have bought braided line for the turbo oil feed

No point upgrading the ko3s unless going above 240bhp.
did you get a gasket for the turbo to manifold? I didn't see any...
Yep I also got new washers for the oil and cooler banjo bolts, new gasket for the exhaust manifold, and oil return. I'm sure there's lots more I've missed as it's hard to remember to include every little detail 👍

does anyone know if MK4 has specific brake bleeding procedure?
i have videos on a beetle i VR6 swapped with soft brake pedal i cant figure it out driving me crazy

Start from the farthest wheel from the reservoir so on a left hand drive it would be rear passenger, then rear driver, then passenger and then driver. Also make sure the master cylinder is sealed to the booster properly. There’s a heat shield you have to put after the master cylinder on the booster not before. That was an issue I had when replacing my booster the first time.
@@TheRegularAlex my entire brake system was completely drained empty no fluid. I have read after that it needs to be bled with vag com
@@Patrick-Mckinney that’s what I heard needs to be done because of the abs module but when I did my booster I completely removed my master cylinder from the abs module and then put it back together and never had to bleed my abs after. But the module didn’t lose any fluid when I did it so that might have been why. It should throw an abs dash light is that’s the case though
Once all 4 wheels are bled up in order, dont forget the 2 nipples on the master cylinder!

Mario I haven't set up a Dyno run. But what I do have is the 1.8 ko4 Turbo 3 inch downpipe cold air intake 440cc injectors blow-off valve for the cool woosh woosh 😂 it'll add 60 to 80 horsepower, my motor has 67,000 miles on it I figured somewhere around 220-230 maybe idk
That inlet of tha turbo looks way too small, original infact size for it to be an actual proper hybrid that you'd buy from littco or BBT for example
Could have a different wheel in but without increasing the size I don't see much benefit from it.

Did I hear right? 300hp from a k03s? Them turbos can flow enough air for 250 but the engine itself can’t with that turbo, you’ll see 230 at most with supporting mods, the k04 on the 1.8 only make around 260..

@@liamting 300bhp is possible. My car is running bbt k280 K03s hybrid and mapped by rtech making 293.9bhp.
Mine also has a bbt k280 hybrid with supporting mods and is run 314 bhp on a agu engine mapped by stealth racing
@@waynebond3427 Wowwww im jealous lol.. These bbt turbos are great turbos. The crazy part is they only rated to 280bhp and always smash past that. Are you on stock internals?
You really need to put in a k04-023 turbo in your wasting your time. Just being honest it’s really easy to do.
