    Could still very well be a dodgy map.. but if not will likely be a boost issue,
    You’re easiest way to diagnose is to boost log using vcds, do a 3rd gear pull from 1200rpm to redline, log it, save the report, open it up in excel and you compare 3 columns, rpm - requested boost - actual boost.
    These turbos are renowned for clogging up inside meaning the VNT part freezes and sticks causing this issue, it’s very much DIY to strip apart and clean but you can get a recon turbo for these for £200 from any local turbo rebuilders.

    I’ve known Charlie my whole life and I’ve never seen a diesel on the dyno so this was quite interesting to watch, shame I wasn’t there but maybe one day I’ll attend one of his dyno days, hope your well Brad

    2:15 when you pick a generic map is a lottery because every engine is different from others even when they have the same components. That's why you do a customize map for your particular car if you want it done right. the cut that you say might be a security measure from the ecu as you say, i would recommend you to get a customized map for your car it will cause fewer problems and it's healthier for the engine

    Hi bro, I also own the same car but mines brd, I’m also having power issues and can completely relate to your issue with boosting well sometimes and doesn’t others, Mines remapped and got exactly the same mods as you, owner before said it’s been mapped to 210bhp but blew a turbo weeks later, ive now got a hybrid turbo installed and due to get the car mapped again properly with a 4 bar map sensor installed, I do find these cars are problematic but seem to love them at the same time😂

    Sounds like you’ve having an overboost issue. You’ll have the big boost spike and then it will hit overboost and cut power. I’d check the vac line from the n75 valve for leaks (easier to replace with new lines) and then if still having issues it will be sticky turbo veins

    Now When I saw your early mods coming from TDI MK4 stuff for years I knew u went about the dpf and egr the wrong way lol. Now when I did my EGR and DPF delete. When the dpf was off I put in a can of Mr muscle in the turbo from the little EGR port of the manifold and from the exhaust port. In increments and from underneath I pushed the actuator arm in and out a few times and you should have seen the Black carbon that came out was shocking.
    Before my remap my car was acting like yours with the same fault.
    After cleaning the turbo with Mr muscle then Egr + cooler & DPF delete and a Eco map my car came alive.

    cant reccomend darkside developments enough tbh , i had a pd170 a3 , very similar engine , had a pot luck flash map put on it exactly like you after taking out the dpf. ran alright but wasnt what i was expecting , took ti to darkside who rolled it at 170... they custom tuned it keeping the exhaust temps in a safe level . and a eco style map to keep the clutch safe and they got it at 194. power delivery and smoothness was on another level , phenemenal change. as part of their pre map / dyno checks tehy check all the torsion values on the timing/ injectors and physically adjust to suit. its a decent drive out to their facility from your area but if you make a holiday of it and explore the area etc its not so bad. they should be able to source and rectify the running issue in the map , or the mechanical / elctrical cause.

    i had hesitation on mine, it was the anti shudder valve/throttle body. didnt throw a code because i had a crap map on the car. replaced throttle body and now is perfect.

    That dip is the boost limiter in the siemens ecu i memtioned in one of your previous videos it will make good power but it wont be linear

    I had an A6 with same engine doing the exact same thing and it was the boost solenoid.

    It will be the veins in the turbo and dpf, had same issues, couldn't have it refurbished as the veins are different to the other models turbo, new turbo and de cat and that will sort it.

    I'm pretty sure it's either the turbo geometry sticking or the map sensor reading false data. Either way it should be fixable if you get someone who knows VCDS.

    Injector cleans, sticking turbo veins, might be an idea to take it back to a standard map and see if it continues?

      Bet the vanes are gunked up ...spray some egr cleaner in the turbo intake revs will rise as you spray keep spraying little squirts after full can used turn off leave to soak then take for a sprited drive .....other option is the map increases pressure in the rail and your injector pump is at it limit and just can't keep up .

    Try adding a can of hydraulic lifter additive to your oil , my audi is identical to yours and same issues , have done the same mods , the additive has cured all the problems and no hesitation at all now pulling like a train. Ive done over 500 miles now and it keeps getting better, going to do an oil change soon and keep periodically adding in the hydraulic lifter additive to keep it clean. Give it a try , wynns hydraulic lifter from halfords only £10 .

    Could be weak actuator or sticky gains in turbo or down to cheap flash map overboost and ecu cutting it

      i'd say cheap flash that is overboosting, cheap maps always look like this

    Airflow restriction try cleaning the intake manifold and backs of valves drain the intercooler of oil etc

    It can be a few issues injectors start with a bottle of injector cleaner when you fill up next, can be the map that is over boosting and also the egr just get it deleted darkside sells the egr delete kit

    I've had a few pd 170 easiest way to no of its the turbo drive hit 70/80 if it goes into limp mode turn it off and on again yoh have boost don't bother trying to clean the vains with Mr muscle or anything it literally won't work if it does it will only do it again sounds like a generic map put it standard and start again and ive been there ots a ball ache no codes your guessing I no the injectors like to play up when the 170 are mapped keep trying don't give up could even be the map missed and egr delete or dpf go stock snd start again keep up the good content 😀

    new boost solenoid. fuel filter, bottle of cataclean and some v power then take it on a blast. would probs look at going to a reputable mapper as i remember your popcorn not sounding the best.

    I'm pretty sure it's still a mapping problem, all cheap maps look like this, in diesels as well as petrols(small turbo ones)

    Have you still got the power drop issue? Have you had the inlet manifold off and cleaned it thouroughly, you can then clean the turbo veins at the same time....I'd check all the pipe connections on the boost side, you may have a broken clamp that gives way at high speed causing the drop in power, but allows the pipe to go back into place at lower speeds/pressure...You're not getting a fault code, so I'd bet it's an intake issue...on the boost pipework.

    Map is probs the issue. Flashing a generic map is hit and miss sounds like over boost then hitting limp mode. Use your icarly and check live data if possible

    Sound's like a new pcv valve needed. I have b7 2.0 T petrol standard 220bhp remapped to 260bhp

    I bet its the injector torsion value, look into it bud i see it all the time on pd's that I map

      Exactly, i would check cam timing, torsion values, ensure the injectors are set up correctly and also make sure the vnt is set up correctly, I.e full travel and not sticking.

    190 map but ur boost is topping out at mid rev....i would intercooler upgrade a d panel filter.. I wouldn't change box due to heat soak just put a performance filter and ild get it remapped by a audi specialist genie customes done mine iv had no issues and boost is still full on at red line

    Not exactly the same, but I have experienced the same symtoms when tuning my A4 1.8t. I realize yours is diesel, but the ecu's may share similar maps. You may have a conflict between KFMIRL & KFMIOP maps. That or some other torque intervention. I would expect that type of conflict more than mechanical issue in your case.

      @@Spike0000 on the b7 theres actually 2 seperate intake ducts, one coming from the bonnet and one coming from the archlining so once the cars moving theres plenty of cool air being sucked in via those 2 ducts, if anything i'd like to make a heatshield but im no fabricator and in Glasgow, theyre very hard to find!

    Any one help me out please I have a audi a4 black editon 63 plate 1.8tfsi engine and I seem to have this weird power issue when I go to pull off from a stand still, its like no fuel gets to the car for some reason and then it drives off fine after its little splutter i have no idea if the car has been mapped or not all I know is it has a aftermarket exhaust on it to make it sound more beefy. I'm no mechanic and is my first petrol car so just after some advice please.

    That is probably because an overboost, followed by a boost cut. Map MIGHT be the issue, i`ve seen a lot of them doing that and can be recovered with a good map

    Dude I'm having same issues , 2-3k hesitates, have done same mods dpf deleted egr deleted, stage 2 map , full service, I'm gonna have a pcv filter installed for the rocker cover Breather , have looked online at throttle position sensors maybe the issue , possibly the throttle body is dodgy , map sensor , maf sensor, n75 valve and also the turbo actuator could all be the issue , its really frustrating and your not alone 🥵🤌

    This is why you get a map done on a dyno they will make sure your cars running right instead of slapping a map on to hell with how it's running

    I'd try ditching the OEM airbox [to thwart visitors setting up home in it]...Get a carbon cold air-feed kit [a Forge product will do nicely]...Fit larger injectors...Beef-Up the Diff to a "Wavetrac" one as well as upgrading the front control-arm bushes...[these will plant the power down and eliminate torque-steer]...I'd also delete the EGR/DPF/Swirl Flap etc so it can blow all the carbon out...[the trees need it anyway to produce more oxygen for us]...Make sure the exhaust is straight-through. On a 170bhp TDI this should improve your BHP up to around 60bhp to roughly 225/230bhp....

      Did you not see the darkside egr delete kit ? He has already had the DPF 'cleaned' 😉 . No need to change the injectors on the PD 170 if running stock turbo.

    Fit a real boost gauge, not a obd,
    And see were your boost goes up to when you get the cut out, I think it is over boost,

      @@BWTV why I say not to use a OBD 2 gauge, is because the OBD protacal only reads 1.5bar, of boost, and with a remap it will be going to about this, and if the car is overboosting it may be going up to 30+ psi of boost at times, if it does reed very high boost levels and not to say 19-22psi ,under load,
      The vnt is stuck, I would say this is what Is your problem, looking at the Dyno sheet, there are videos on CZcams people using oven cleener, Mr mussel, in to the vnt side of the turbocharger, to clean the carbon, can you contact the man that did the remap and ask him what he set the boost level to, getting this will help you when you find out what boost you are making,so if it is a lot higher then he set it to then you know it is the vnt sticking

    This engine has simmens injectors and they are known to go bad all the time, and your turbo sounds like it is going bad. I have seen all videos of your audi and to me this seems like turbo and injectors are the problem. I had the same problem on my a3 bkd engine it had bosch injectors but they were bad and my turbo had the same sound as yours, it was bad too. Now the car is mapped at 200 hp and it doesnt smoke it starts at half turn of a key i did many things on it, it even has amc improved cylinder head. You need to watch for your cylinder head. If your car starts to lose water then it is a problem.
