- The GTI got a new custom exhaust made up over at Full Throttle Performance, and I have to say it suits the bumper a lot more than previously! Sound clips are near the end of the video! (And also for a lil flame)

I’m sure someone’s mentioned this to you already bro. But it can’t hurt for me to reinforce accurate suggestions.
A Wavetrac or a Quaile LSD will help to put the power down and eliminate wheel hop bro.
(Wavetrac) being the superior LSD, however, it’s the more expensive one. But both are great respectively.
Also performance suspension will aid to prevent these symptoms too. That means coilovers and anti roll bars etc.. like you mentioned. Everything will work in tandem, tyre choice will also play a part when going up in power.
Not to forget things like a performance clutch to avoid slip and just burning one out rated for a lower torque output.
And if you’re feeling really nit picky, you could think about lightening anything that’s rotating mass.. so that’s any kind of wheel or shaft..
from alloy/forged wheels and lightweight flywheels to your drive shaft and things of that nature. this will usually result in a more responsive engine, requiring the engine to do less work to achieve the same outcome. which should also translate into higher WHP.
Once everything’s dialled in, you’ll have a fast road.. potentially even a track day setup at the end of it.
P.S.* I agree bro, you can always forge the engine so it can hold the torque and the boost if you intend on really pushing it.. or if you’re feeling fancy, get an S3 engine swap? explore your options, I’m sure you’ll find something that suits your needs and budget!

To get the powerdown you'd ideally need an LSD. I believe you can get a Wavetrac LSD fitted to these gearboxes. But instead of worrying about all that, you need to sort your clutch out so the power can be used. Forget everything else, seriously! One that's done you can go down the lines of an LSD, Whiteline RARB, Coilovers..... After the clutch get BETTER tyres, and then upgrade the brakes to handle the extra power the car is pushing. Don't go cheap, get decent stuff or you'll pay twice. That's my personal advice. Keep up the great work on the videos!

LSD is probably going to be the best mod to effectively put serious power down but also to improve handling. Its quite expensive especially when considering you'll have to do other supporting mods but definitely worth it. Love your vids, keep it up.

Launch control - Diktator management system with launch control or maybe something you can find in the UK. In addition, you need to upgrade your clutch, pressure plate and balance the flywheel to handle the power upgrade. Suspension upgrade, polyurethane bushes and larger stabilser bars front and rear (24mm). Coilovers, go Koni. Lifetime warranty, they have no real competitors. Hope my comments help. Cheers

Start with coilovers and higher rated tires. That's the easiest and cheapest things to do to get the power to the road. After that I'd say a performance clutch should be next.
Mk1 s3 steering rack,mk1 Audi TT wishbones and hubs,the hubs have to be 2wd!!! Hope that helps.
Tyres are one of the main things so don't cheap out on them also coilovers will help to put the power down on corners but make sure you aline them but an lsd with help a lot more than anything but defiantly get some good tyres

You need the G60 flywheel with vr6 clutch , single mass and you can go with a lightweight flywheel 7kg or 10kg , you can find the kit on darkside performance , pretty cheap now, and better tyres , poly bushes for the dog bone mount for more grip 😀😉
Dude try to change the dogbone mount to help with less wheel hopping , very cheap mod and get good tyres / LSD diff then coilovers later etc ...good luck
To make it flame what u want to do is put your foot flat on the throttle till it revs to bout 2300 rpm over and over it dumps fuel and ignites in the exhaust
Clutch, flywheel, lsd and good rubber will help get the power onto the road. I’m honestly a bit of a vag novice having only owned a PD130 Ibiza but it gets to a stage through the front wheels that you won’t be able to enjoy all the power. I have a Mondeo ST220 and as a 3.0 na V6 with 226bhp out the box, there isn’t much I can do to get it to go faster. I focus my attention on the visual side of things but in 4 months I’ve managed to spend over £2k and have barely touched the cosmetics and just fixing things that theory hasn’t worked 😂
I always see people go too far with turbo engine cars to not return even half their original investment but to put a good 1/4 mile time down. Make the car more enjoyable in the corners I say once you’ve got good power and spend the money on petrol to go out and enjoy on some awesome roads and track days.

Stick to the golf but get a 4motion body that’s awd and forge a bam 1.8t 225bhp Quattro from Audi TT for it 👌

Exhaust sounds and looks good. As for traction the tires is the obvious factor or lsd but that’s pricey. Until then fake it easy on the accelerator

I went 3inch stainless for the cat back on mine into a rear muffler. Droned going through RPM but once at set speed it was fine

New short shifter, new gearbox, new tyres, lower engine mount all effect the way you’ll drive and I guess improve torque

Try some stiffer (Powerflex are good) engine mounts, that will help reduce wheel hop and put the power down better :)

When i saw the footage of the guy TIG welding with another guy holding it but covering his eyes i was thinking.... this exhaust is not going to look good when its finished. To be fair it does look decent. I would take the car back regarding the squeak thou. It might of settled abit and they might need to bend one of the hangers or realign it. If you do decide to do it get yourself some universal exhaust rubber hangers off of ebay (2 Universal Red Heavy Duty Rubber Exhaust Mount Brackets Hangers 12mm Hole) check the hole size first thou. They allow you to adjust the height a small amount and you might be able to get it to sit better than it currently is. I used some on my exhaust and that was supposed to be direct fit.

Polybush the front of the car and put a wavetrac differential. Use SuperPro polybushes as they are loads better. Your girlfriends car uses EDL which is a electronic lsd but they are not as good as a mechanical differential which the wavetrac is.
Do a haldex swap! I’m swapping the drivetrain from an R32 and a TT transmission into my 20th anniversary. Eventually I want to push around 500-600hp to all 4 wheels.
That is a massive project! Converting to 4wd is no joke, can be done but it would cost so much in labour

Btw a full TT subframe (if you can afford it ) with a set of new tyres and alignment + a s2000 cone filter will help a lot with putting down the power down.

You need a stage 2 dog bone mount takes 5 min to do and you will have no more wheel hop

Get an Limited Slip Differential installed in the gearbox 👍🏻
Get an LSD... Then maybe if you're looking at forged parts. IE Performance has a stroker engine kit on their webpage. It includes everything crankshaft, rods, pistons and all that good stuff. Then you can make more power it will cost a pretty penny though.

Needs some advice guys, I have a 2001 Golf V5, recently had a misfire on cylinder 4. So I replaced the coil and it was fixed. 5 miles later, it I had another misfire this time on cylinder 1. So now I have ordered another 4 coils and will replace them all.
But is this just coincidence? Or could it be something else that’s causing the coil the fail?
Derbi Goon's your car is 17 years old if there the original coils there doing well! Electric components unfortunately don't last forever so your doing the right thing replacing them all. Don't forget to change the spark plugs at the same time and make sure contacts on the electrical connectors to the coils are clean etc.
Yes a LSD would be good but££££££ a good set off springs should stop the front bouncing, order on eBay Germany , I saved £70 getting from Germany for my Volvo, and they came in 3 days DHL,

To put the power down better you need LSD, eventually better suspension if your present is some cheap shit. And of course, your grip will never be better than your tires can handle. You could go with some semi slicks, or you could go with some good road tires. Hankook Ventus S1 EVO K107 is a tyre with good grip to a fair price.
Btw, i think it is a great idea to stay with your mk4. Everyone with money can buy a fast car - but only few builds their own. And according to your torque limit issue - buy some stronger connection rods and forged pistons :D
