    Nothing beats our pine planters that measure 900mm x 900mm x 450mm that we buy from a local scrap wood retailer for R30.00. That’s less than $1.75! Slap a bit of stain on there, and you’re good to go for 2 seasons.
    Nice build nonetheless! 😉

    • @BearMountainBuilds
      @BearMountainBuilds  Před 2 měsíci

      I bought this wood about 2 weeks before I stained it so I would say no, but depends on how wet your wood is when you buy it. Worst comes to worst you could just apply a second coat of stain later.

      @@BearMountainBuilds you assume they are flat. Most of them are warped on all 3 dimensions. I like your design but I think the assembly won't be without hiccups. But given it's an outdoor planter, maybe we don't need everything to line up.

  • @RonInAVan
    @RonInAVan Před 2 měsíci

    Nice video and nice planner, but the cost to build this is quite high with the price of pressure-treated lumber. 2x6x8 here are $7.58 and the 2x6x10 are $10.18 so to build one box is between $45 to $50, not sure what you would be able to sell them for today. Again nice project.

      You can grow food in pressure treated planters now. Back in the early 2000s they banned the use of arsenic in pressure treated lumber. You can also just grow in a pot too

  • @WanderingHead91367
    @WanderingHead91367 Před 13 dny

    Ugh. I don't like this project and how you deal with it. You made lots of errors dealing with pressure treated wood. You need great ventilation/filtration while working with the wood; you should have worn gloves to protect your hands; you should have worn enclosed dafety goggles; brad nails will corrode from the pressure treated chemicals; all tools, bits, and blades should have been wiped down. It's all about the chemicals used in the wood and I think you are misleading your viewers and exposing yourself to future health issues. Just because the material is cheap, doesn't mean that you won't pay for it (health) later.
