Dioscordia is described as a perfect haven for a bronze/iron age heist movie. "The best merchants from around the known world, pulling off the most impossible heist."
love the focus on not well-known ancient kingdoms, good work
Thank you!
Great work your content is really unique. I would love a series on the kingdoms of ancient southern Arabia.
Thank you!! :D I've though about it, perhaps if this video gets a lot of positive reception i shall make a sequel on the two other kingdoms!
According to Wikipedia the region was called the Kingdom of Hadhramaut.
There are articles about this and several contemporary south Arabian kingdoms.
This kingdom actually existed a couple centuries before hadhramaut was first mentioned!
Woah, never know this exist!
Ancient southern Arabia was dominated by trading kingdoms! there are ones even older than this one, such as Saba! :D Perhaps a future video about them can be done :P
@@KnowHistory please do lakhmids and ghassinds war
I found your discussion excellent about a remote part of the world and an obscure subject which is nonetheless important.
I was a Historical Geography professor for 32 years so that might explain my interest. The discussion is relevant for understanding more broadly ancient trade routes in that part of the world and the links between South Asia, the Mediterranean and Africa.
Sometimes a short discussion of the most relevant points can be difficult. I thought that you did an excellent job.
I love how you use Imperator Rome and CK3 for your videos! Good job man !
Thank you! :D
Your channel always has the most interesting and unique content! Amazing job, keep it up
Thank you so much!! I'm glad i keep delivering great content!
I'm literally a walking ball of random knowledge but never knew this was a kingdom! Love the channel and just subscribed! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Really enjoying learning about these less-known parts of history. could I request something on mountain civilizations?
Thank you! You can request anything you want! I just can't promise I'll cover it :P but I can at least look into it and who knows perhaps someday a video can be made about it :P
The olibanum tree is plant native to the Arabian Peninsula, specifically to the countries of Oman and Yemen, and to the Horn of Africa, specifically Somalia. Wikipedia!
Hi, I was wondering how you manage to get clean Imperator: Rome footage without province titles; it looks very clean, and I'd like to use it for my own stuff
Very, very interesting!
Seriously, I am commenting in part to boost the engagement because most people in my area think Arabia was unoccupied desert until Islam.
it's interesting to learn about this
very interesting topic i never knew this one
Hey, how do you get those videos of Imperator without countries/cities/icons and with that nice terrain?
Overheard once, " But mum, I wanted more gold"
Bro make some more vids with Imperator's map please! I love it
Let's go!
Great vudeo
Nice!
Thanks! ^^
Please do one on Mleiha and Ed Dur aka the ancient kingdom of Oman
I'll add it to the sugestion box! Thank you!
Great work Know History! Scooby snacks for you.
My allegiance is to Liberty, the Repubic and Democracy.
frankincense was primarily somali/ethiopian i didnt know it was big in southern arabia too
Ah yes! The ancient kingdom of Frankenstein
Oh I can tell you what they were trading for in "Cana" ;)
I see you use imperator rome
A lot! and CK3 as well, in medieval videos
The map ❤❤❤
You made yourself?.
I mean the map and not the animation on it.
Wasn't Yemen an ancient supplier of Frankincense as well?
What is the name of this kingdom? Is it Hadhramaut?
Imperator Rome is so beautiful 😍
You are taulking about ancient Kingdom of Hadhramaut
Perhaps, it is possible, the geographic area is the same, but there's no certainty, it could be a kingdom that came before Hadhramaut. The Greeks called Hadhramaut by the name "Chatramotitai" which is vastly different from the "Chóras Livanotofórou" mentioned in periplus.
If this kingdom has no name, then I declare it...
*FRANKISTAN.*
Since they had links to Persia, I wouldn't be surprised if they called it Frankinstan ahah
the kingdom had names depending on the date mechant went there either SABA or HIMYAR
no ,that's kingdom of hadramout , an enemy to both seba and himyar

Does anyone know if he uses a game to make the characters and for the map?? Low key looks like CK3
I do, It's a game by the name of Imperator Rome, it came a few years before CK3 and it's made by the same developer! I also have videos where i use CK3, if you want to check them out, I am currently doing a series on the anglo-saxons!
As a fan of Imperator: Rome, your comment hurt a lot. Lol.
@@KnowHistory I thought it was one of the two! Cheers, wish they didn’t abandon imperator or else I would’ve bought it as well, im an avid paradox games player myself!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Now find the kingdom of Mur...
