  • The Ancient trade port of Dilmun was a key stepping stone on the trade routes of the Indian Ocean. The history of this trade port is long and features epic highs and deep lows. How did this little island become such a rich trade hotspot?

    A very good and brief history of the ancient world. I have been to Bahrain (Tylos, Dilmun) and spent years in the UAE and Oman. In the UAE and Oman, we saw the ancient copper mines, quite incredeble as these were used to make the bronze weapons, utensils and various implements of the time.

    That's really interesting I'm from Bahrain and I didn't know greeks ruled bahrain until now,
    Cool animation but I have to mention that people used to live mostly in the north for it used to be full of water springs and greens

      I have a good rule of thumb : if you live around the Mediterranean, Black Sea or the Middle East, assume the Greeks ruled and settled your land at some point until proven otherwise

    • @SOPHIA-yf7ws
      @SOPHIA-yf7ws Před 11 měsíci

      I lived in Bahrain. You might know that it means two seas. It is said that there is a spring (s) of fresh water going out and it might be mixed with the sea water. An ancient legend says that a fairy princess whenever she hits the land with her feet more fresh water comes out....

    So many wrong information, first of all dilmun was a large kingdom that spanned around eastern arabia from today’s kuwait till qatar, which area was later known as bahrain during the sasanian empire where the king was munzir ibn sawa, even after the islamic conquest, and the island of bahrain which was known as awal was also always part of greater bahrain (eastern arabia) during medival times + greek never ruled bahrain.
