This just shows that Mourinho had the best interest of United at heart. People hated on him but he really wanted to make this club great again.
Fans who properly follow united don't blame Mourinho. The ones who blame him for our struggles when he was in charge were a vocal minority. The players are poor, the coaching is clearly inadequate and the hierarchy have no clue or strategy to move forward.

I thought Uniteds plan of action in the summer was to appoint a director of Football? Plus they needed a massive overhaul but they got rid of twice as many players than they signed? If this was any other organization in the world there would be sackings right across the board because of people doing their job poorly. 3 mistakes:
Sacking Mourinho, not getting this guy and giving the job to Ole. Woodward is a complete tool.
Man Utd finished 6th last season but still earn record revenue. They don't need to play good football to earn tonnes of $$. Why would they change? The problem is not Woodward. The problem is fans expecting something different than the new standards we getting now.

Many huge businesses have fallen from grace, because they fail to adapt. Utd still working without an expert(s) in the field, they are gonna sink, and their future profits with it. You can't have an accountant, that doesn't understand football and expect you can compete with clubs that has a well oiled machine with experts in the field.

A sporting director also creates stability, a link between the business side and the football side as well as being the focus of discipline if players step out of line.
They're there to keep the ship heading in the right direction, even in the event a manager is fired as their focus is on the long term project instead of just buying for the hell of it.
Man utd need more than a sporting director. It needs everything.
Double standard English fans and press. When it was Mourinho, it was sack. When it is OLE it is a sport director.
He's a club legend, also he has been way more likeable than Mourinho in terms of attitude. I dont think Dead Woodward should have sacked Mourinho and I dont think he should have signed Ole after just a couple of months. But one thing I do understand is why Ole is getting leeway.
He's also taking advantage of the fans good will Ole should recognise he's out of his depth and resign but he'll cling on until he's given the boot.

In a world where managers dont last long, the sporting director helps keep the vision and hires coaches with similar philosophies so a complete rebuild isn't neccessary everytime a new coach is hired...

Sporting director sometimes doesn't work for club's. Look at my own club Liverpool they had sporting director Damien Comolli who brought in garbage under Kenny Dalglish second term as manager.

I don't remember the name of the team, you'd have to go back to last weeks show.
