    Newcastle United are certainly not messing around under their new Saudi ownership. Over £100m was splashed in the winter window and results have improved. But the club have finally found a new Technical Director of Football in Dan Ashworth.
    This could be a huge appointment. The Englishman is widely credited with transforming the fortunes not just his former club Brighton, but of West Bromwich Albion and the England national side. Yet until now very few people were truly aware of his impact in the game.

    Newcastle fans deserve this, no one seemed to care about them when their owner neglected them for years. They were competing with Manchester United at one point and faced relegations, a lack of investment and more importantly a lock of respect and love from Mike Ashley.

    I think any Newcastle who actually looks at this stuff is absolutely over the moon with his imminent appointment. I'm really excited because it looks like they're doing everything the right way, bringing in the right type of people not just the biggest names.

      As a Newcastle fan I 100% agree, these are really exciting times made all the better with what seems like somewhat inexperienced owners doing a good job in not just throwing money at it and hoping it sticks but really carefully having plans in place and recruiting cleverly for the future.

    Whether it's been West Brom, England or Brighton, Dan Ashworth has made successful policies and improvements during his employment. As a neutral PL fan who supports a L1 club I wish him him all the best in the role he has at St James' Park! In my opinion he's an asset for football in general whoever he works for.     Every day it’s good news, our owners just done an interview with The Athletic this morning which was class. Just ticking every single box, even little stuff other fans may not value like moving the Shearer statue next to the Sir Bobby one, chancing NINE bar back to “Shearers” and wanting to get past players back at the club in ambassador roles. They just get it, I can’t explain it

    It’s good to see us doing this the right way. I was worried we would do an Everton and spunk money on dross but with Asworth and a young manager like Howe I can see us doing really well. Maybe europa league in the next 2-3 seasons hopefully

      @@mkodyChallengesYOurexistence it really depends look at Everton. However Ashworth and the guy we hired in January clearly know what they are doing. Howe as manager we could even finish top 6 next year it really just depends as look at West Ham under Moyes. Went from a relegation scrap to 6th in 1 season

    With Ashworth and Howe, Newcastle brought 2 people pretty young (for their job), not well known, but who already proves that they're very competent, in particular to make progress a club

    Whilst he was on gardening leave at Brighton , I suspect DA had a big input on last January incomings via the telephone / conference calls . He was apparently very well thought of at the FA & clearly he’s good at what he does . Delighted he’s pulling our day to day off field strings . As a lifelong fan who first went to SJP in the 70s & seen very lean times , I’m like a 15 year old excited to see what’s to come .

Burnley has now an upgrade towards him with Weghorst.
