Oh, and betting companies do give information to football clubs, the player signs a document saying they agree to share medical information and information regarding betting and investments. How do you think most clubs avoid signing these players? Most clubs only get stung when the betting etc starts after they’ve joined. Newcastle and Ashworth didn’t do their due diligence.

Im a Man Utd fan and this whole Ashworth and now Wilcox gardening leave thing is becoming a farce. If we have to wait 12 months for these guys then what on earth is the summer transfer window looking like for us??. Is Sir Dave Brailsford going to sign a couple of Sky Cyclists for us?.
If Newcastle want 20m and Southampton want 10m just pay the flippin money, take a hit and we will be in a better position for it rather than waiting 12 months.

@tonym1424 we didn't spend in January window because we were at our limit for that period, not over, hence no penalty!.....thats without the income of 2 new sponsorship deals and the champions league revenue and the bonus that go with it paid at the end of this season, £20m is the fee the club have set, we'll either get it and he goes soon or we don't and he completes his 15 month gardening leave b4 joining Man Utd.....just following the facts from my own club.........but we will sell a player, maybe even 1 we'd like to keep also, but to rebuild thats what a club in our position has to do realistically, unless the rules change and its no longer a closed competition for the top 6

But we've also missed out on a few thanks to this man taking far, far too long to make a move. After Woodward left, there was ever only one man going to replace him and that was John Murtough. INEOS were the first time United actually considered him, and it was as a backup option if they couldn't get Ashworth. The Glazer couldn't be arsed about getting in people who knew the job.
United approached Edwards last December. That’s over 4 months ago…

I don't think they'll much drop off, this is not like a aging United team in 2012, we have a strong academy, we have a strong core under 26 years with Macca, Jones Elliot Konate Quansah TAA, Bradley Nunez Bajetic and the boys who come through from the Academy, we also have the best Analytical recruitment in world football still with Edwards back.
