Manchester United are planning to make a formal approach to Newcastle for sporting director Dan Ashworth.
It is understood the Newcastle chief is top of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's list to front up his new football operation at Old Trafford, although no formal approach has yet been made.
Newcastle would be reluctant to let Ashworth leave but the 52-year-old is privately open to exploring the potential opportunity to join Man Utd.
The interest in Ashworth comes after the Premier League and the Football Association both approved Ratcliffe's proposed bid to buy a minority stake in the club.

New Stadium is a must... not expansion
United have the fans and resources to be great and now as we seem to have owners who acctually knows something about fotball the greatest club in England can possibly wake up. They seem to put together the best in the business now. At the same time city have 115 charges on them and Liverpool are loosing Klopp and other staffmembers

Man united standing on Business
re Ashworth at Brighton it was Sam Jewell that identified all those players btw, Ashworth negotiated the prices. So if united are really serious its Sam Jewell is the one you will want going forward regarding talent ID.
he wants to bring sam jewell as head of recruitment
@@Nightsuyeh it’s a full team effort ain’t it asworths just the boss
Ashworth brought in Jewell though no? If so, he clearly knows how to recruit people fit for purpose. It seems to be a step in the right direction and Ratcliffe is doing all the right things by clearing out the backroom staff and bringing in new people with new ideas and trying to adopt a new philosophy. It can't be a bad thing.

Sir Jim already bought my shares
Manchester United's post-Ferguson strategy is akin to throwing darts blindfolded and hoping to hit the bullseye
Have a look at the signings under his stewardship at West Brom. Now that was impressive
He's now the best in the business because man utd are after him , but before he was just ' dan ashworth '
Lol, exactly ....... he's that good no fucker's ever heard of him!
wtf kind of analogy is that mate? it applies to every single successful person lol, Mike Tyson was just Michael Tyson at one point of time
That's what always happens anyone on man utd radar is the best I wonder why
Sounds like a bunch of Geordie cope to me
No it's just that United is big news so now Dan Ashworth's success is being highlighted even more
Man.. i hope Dan was really involved in those deals and United can get some gems just like he did before.
Would be so happy to see United making a few signings below 50m(United tax🤣) that can be good solid 1st team players.

How tf, do you do “due diligence” on a player that has a private gambling addiction, that plays for another club abroad in Italy?
What a ridiculous statement
So you are meaning txiki the ceo of man City is nothing 😅
@@YothamOmbeni what's that got to do with anything, I'm talking about how Newcastle are expected to know a player abroad playing for another team has a secret gambling addiction
我真係希望英格蘭男子足球隊真係能夠成功贏得2024至2025年度歐洲國家聯賽的男子足球的賽事的冠軍!
United would surely need some one like him for the business
Technically speaking Botman was one that Eddie Howe identified before Dan Ashworth joined Newcastle
Newcastle wanted him back in January 22 when Eddie Howe was also heading up the recruitment drive and the club made two bids for him, Sky Sports would know this if they actually looked back through their own archive of stories.
That's a lot to ask there, mate. What do you think this is, credible journalism?!
@@Pibikhen lol
The fact they think Ashworth signs players is the main red flag to their ‘insight’.
@@SwiftyDeejay say what you see 🤣
Kaveh spends 6 minutes explaining a headline from Fabrizio Romano. Kaveh “tap-in” Solhekol.
Let's not forget all those Brighton signings would've been idntified by Tony Bloom's StarLizard company for our scouting department to go and look at. Headed up firstly by Paul Winstanley and then Sam Jewell (both Chelsea have signed). The data bases and algoriythms used by StarLizard are kept in house and do not make it as far as the football club/scouting department.
You are welcome ❤👏👏
I’m thinking does saf have any executive power in his current chairman role.
Kaveh - Please tell us something we don't already know!!!
None of those NUFC signings were 'amazing' transfers. Pretty well known players who were followed by other big clubs.
Well known players like Antony, Hojlund, Casemiro, Mount?
Sporting directors dont buy players. They are in charge of overseeing various departments like sport science, recruitment staff, medical staff etc
Such a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG video yet all i needed to hear is from 2:36 to 5:45
You are welcome ❤👏👏 1:45
The last time MU dealt with NU for a notable signing was Andrew Cole for £7m with Gillespie going the other way.
It's amazing to think that almost 30 years later we're now talking similar figures in millions but as compensation for directors...
Not the same sport it was back then, unfortunately.
Could another investor come in to help SJR buy the rest of the club too?
This meeting could have been an email.
Not many of Ashworth's signings would get into the Man Utd team.
An Era has began
I hope Man Utd can win the league at least one in the next 10 years
Dan ashworth was never in charge of transfers at brighton, he recruited staff
well you're wrong he was sporting director which means he picked the players ffs how are people this stupid
😂
He wasn't directly in charge but he oversaw all of them, he coordinates all of the footballing decisions behind the scenes.
Hahahahaha You shouldn't talk if you don't actually have any knowledge because yes he was. He was sporting director and had a say in all the transfers
Exactly. Brighton continue to make excellent signings. But don’t discourage United fans, let ‘em dream.
It would be really difficult to get Ashworth. Maybe they can look at Paolo Maldini.
Easy, Sir Jim just needs to folk out £5M and it’s all yours😂. It could be a good deal as it will save loads of bugs in transfer market.
Ineos is getting rid of our dead wood..we need this cos every signing we made after the Fergie era is pathetic..our club needs this 360..Ashwood will certainly add value..thank you sir jim
180, not 360.
Point taken
Now next season eth can have proper signings
Utd had a chance of signing Caicedo too, this wasn't an 'unearthed' kind of signing. And those Newcastle players are too pricey for their performances perhaps only Isak but he was also already a prodigy
40 mill signings are the norm these days. We could have had Livramento and Barnes for the price of Antony. Any business he oversees can’t be worse than what we’ve been doing.
Yes it was don’t deny it. Nobody knew he was at the time in England. United didn’t sign him because they didn’t want to pay £5 million for him. People only knew this when he rose to the fore with his performances at Brighton.
@@princesofthepower3690 Ole wanted him, he was not backed. That is a management problem because Ole clearly wanted him, because he was tired of playing McFred. At the time I rem watching his compilation videos from SA and was gutted when Brighton got him instead
Couldn't be arsed
6 minutes of the waffler saying bugger all again, why do I fall for it every time?
Hope the glazers eventually move on, the club needs to free itself from this prolonged tyranny
Wish boehly had this much intelligent
Stop confusing! You guys said earlier Man Utd signings suck because they don't have a proper SD, now you're saying there are lots of people behind transfers and not just SD alone. Get your arguments straight.
I can only believe Dan Ashworth news, if he makes us stop getting rinsed by every club every summer
Paul Jewels son made the signings at Brighton
Brightons recruitment was very good. Newcastles was hardly bargain central every deal was massive
Not about the fee for players it's about signing the right players something we have struggled with for years

These could be signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke, which occur when your body struggles to regulate its temperature in hot weather. Heatstroke is a medical emergency as it can lead to brain and organ damage if the body doesn't cool down.
When exposed to high temperatures, the body loses water, leading to a malfunction in its internal thermostat. Here's what to do:
- Move the person to a cooler place.
- Avoid wearing heavy clothing.
- Remove unnecessary layers.
- Offer cold water to drink.
- Apply ice packs or cold water under their armpits to help cool them down quickly.

£45M for Gordon and £64M for Isak dont begin to compare to his Brighton singings. Rich clubs pay more for average players.

he needs another 26% and get rid of the glazers
Hmmm. United is starting to shaping up. We'll see if few people can change the culture in the whole club
Tonali for 55M is exceptionally good business. he is worth over 100m easy
plus gambling debt😂
Let's be clear here he didn't sign anyone!!!! The manager buys the players
ashworth may well have told newcastle a year ago that he was leaving for united.
He can tell him all he likes... but if there are clauses in your contracts you can't just walk away and join a rival. Rashford can't just say im leaving united tomorrow and signing for City thanks for everything. He may have a release clause, with compensation / gardening timelines / and many other factors in place.
@@johnfulco8313
yeah defo, what i mean is the deal might have been done for the last 12 months. he may have been on gardening leave for the last 6 months. it could happen very quick this.
Dan Ashworth said months ago when these rumours started he is staying at Newcastle.
Why would he leave a project he’s just started to build anyway?
Because the biggest club in the world is coming for you and he has seen that Newcastle won’t be allowed spend there money for years until there profile grows
@@Mark-99999 Man Utd aren’t the biggest club in the world anymore and are a sinking ship 🤷🏻♂️ when our revenue kicks in at the start of the summer we can spend again. He said himself in a club statement that he’s staying at Newcastle anyway.

@@Nathan_Toddy_ToddUtd are the biggest in the world in terms of fan base

Why is there no Bruno in the Newcastle selected list..
Manchester united problem we are going through now is from Sir Alex Ferguson, after he gave the team to Moyes instead of Guadiola and united has never been the same ever since.
Fergie never wanted PEP fact ... Also Fergie knew PEP successful rate would eclipse his at united hence he gave it to moyes sadly ... This my club bloody hell
Pep wasn’t available. They met in NY in the November before he left, but Pep had already signed a pre-contract agreement with Bayern.
The problem with Ferguson was leaving the actual team in a state. He performed miracles in that last year, with a team who were mainly over performing.
Not gonna be gassed about this but if this really change our football glazers has blood on their hands for holding the club back
Nice
Who is Kassie Aydo and how can we sign him? 😲
Sounds like a exciting player to me hahaha
Man Utd fans getting all giddy. They forget chelsea got all of brightons staff who were responsible for great singings and look how that ended for Chelsea. 11th and potentially 8th place finishes
Where would Arsenal be without Edu?
Livramento came from Southampton not Chelsea

He had nothing to do with Isak or Botman

Kaveh makes a fortune for reading twitter articles aloud on Sky news, absolutely stealing a living.
Why they blowing smoke up ashworths arse he didn’t even bring in half of those players at Brighton and brought in a player for newcastle that was under investigation for betting
Why did they do Ashworth dirty and show him looking like a hobbit 😂
Hi MANCHESTER United casemiro LOOKING Forwar
I thought Michael Edwards and Paul Mitchell were successful English DOF
No wonder this man speaks just for clicks
Really dont understand the fuss . He had made signings which came with no pressure and it wouldn't matter if they were a success or a failure. Utd his signings will have to be an instant suxcess , completely different ball game. Also what happened with his due diligence with the tonali signing? Developing youth players at the FA wtf , ridiculous comment to make, ita the clubs who develop.
i dont see the fuss about this really? i think there are better people but lets see
So basically if he's got money he'll spend it. Where's the cheap signings for Newcastle?
You think Newcastle are gunna let him go… LOL
He was paid to negotiate deals for the players he didn't pick them.
man utd is already unstoppable when the owners put just 20% of the effort of the arab sheikhs

Hey, at least so far Sir Jim doing good at his end of the bargain
@@KaitoMinato and the Glazers will continue to hoover up any profit the club makes for years to come. (I just have my doubt's they'd have agreed to this unless they stand to make even more out of the deal than just the purchase price of 25%)

GET THIS DONE UNITED. All these off pitch moves will make a huge difference come summer.
Did everyone really think Jim wasn’t serious? He’s investing his own money so if he’d want a huge return from his investment
Newcastle will go and get Rangnick and instantly upgrade. Dan Ashworth isn’t even in the top 10 DOF’s. Everyone thinks he signed Bruno, Trippier etc but they all signed before Ashworth went to Newcastle. Ashworth only wants over priced British players and a British manager.
Ashworth wasn’t part of Brighton recruiting Caicedo, Mitoma etc, Brighton own their own betting company which they use stats from to recruit young talent. Ashworth takes all the credit for the stuff at Brighton but Brighton went from relegation contenders to Europa as soon as he left.
Newcastle fan here. If he stays, fair enough. If he goes, absolutely no big deal as this is the guy who didn't do any due diligence on Tonali and look how that worked out. He is NOT as good as people think. Also, we don't want anyone at the club who's head is turned whenever there's interest from somewhere else. Get rid if that's the case because that is a personality trait we do NOT need or want.
You didn’t say the same thing when you poached him from Brighton tho. That’s the nature of the job he does. He is a sporting director , he can decide to leave his position whenever he gets a better opportunity just like any other person in that role
What would SSN's talk about if they didn't chat sht about utd everyday?
Livramento from Chelsea loool what?
Check your facts, he did not sign all them players you have listed for NUFC, most of them were at the club before he arrived, but there again it’s Sky Sports so we can’t expect anything else can we, it’s lazy reporting at it’s worst. Put Ashworth on garden duty for two years and charge 20 million compensation
I hope Ashworth stays at Newcastle
Welcome to man utd
Wow, talk about inflating someone's value. You can tell it's Valentine's Day because Sky Sports are in a full on love affair over this deal and Dan Ashworth.
Let the man go I say, we'll take the compensation money to help us invest in players that will make a difference to the club. Our key signs over the last three windows have had nothing to do with Ashworth.
