Kev drives the Granite BLX, it doesn't break.
I drive mine for 3 weeks, no jumping or grab-assing, plastic differential in rear breaks.
Believing one video shows you the whole picture is a recipe for disaster and disappointment.
You probably still buy things you see on commercials, because you're naïve like that.
Don't fall for slick editing and one day reviews. It's not the whole picture.

I just ordered an orange one from my buddy who owns a small LHS. That is a great idea to help small businesses. I get mine Friday...Its almost xmas everyday.
the added clearance makes it a better jumper than my rustler which is just slapping the body constantly. Love how good the rustler is at hooning and going fast but that hoss looks fun at the jumps.

Interesting that you will be trying the TRX batt/charger. I have a Deans 3s and thinking about picking up a Maxx. I was originally planning to convert the ESC to Deans, but if I ever try 4s, I'm not sure Deans is the best option. I need a second charger anyway, so considering taking the plunge and getting the Traxxas single "Live" charger and the TRX 5ah 3s to go with it all...

i find it pretty funny actually how like little kids in the skate park get so hyped of them cars, i went to a skate park with my little 1/18 scale and they absolutely loved it.
its quite a shame i can't afford one of those bigger and faster models, i would love to see their reaction to that!

The second time I took my slash 4x4 out immediately jumped it and hit a concrete wall
on that traxxas charger there are two little rubber plastic doors by the plugs and those doors reveal the normal lipo balance leads so you can run any lipo you want

Would using wheel hex hub extensions to give the Hoss a wider footprint be a good idea or a bad idea (to reduce rolling)?
It would reduce rolling, but jumping and hard turns will put more stress on the bearings and wear them out faster. It’s also more stress for the plastics. Great for handling, not so great for durability

I think you're absolutely correct. The Hoss will be Arrma's Granite. My granite is a beast too

No comparison. Granite is like a Pede($380.) The hoss has a larger motor, center diff, and upgraded tires. Adding those to the Pede costs $120, $75, and $70.

Slipper clutch can’t disconnect wheels form each other from shock and also hurts steering. Center diff allows the wheel landed on to stop spinning while the power flows through the other wheels protecting the driveline and allows for better turning. iirc, The larger motor has an 18mm diameter and 38mm long rotor (36x70 can dimensions) which is much considerably larger than the granite and Pede motors. My large rotor comp motor, puller pro 3500kv 540 size motor from Holmes hobbies, has an 18mm diameter and 25mm long rotor. And having larger tires gives greater traction and more weight for rotating and flips.
I'd say the rival mt10 is closer than the granite in comparison

I've been looking for a long time for a rc car as strong as the slash and as agile as the rustler and i think this ones fits the bill pretty good.

Same. Originally I was thinking the Slash 4X4 VXL but I currently have a Stamoede and love the feel of a monster truck. Don’t get me wrong, my brother just got a Slash 4X4 VXL and it handles like a dream, but I want the raw feeling of power I get with a monster truck.
Plus the self-righting, higher-torque motor and sledgehammer tires will be great
Might need to get some sway bars though. I’ll have to see how well it stays on its feet or if it flips as easily as my Stampede

2:00 *KEV!* If you look at your Rustler 4x4 you'll see that the front wheels are facing in the wrong direction. The rears are pointing forward but the treads on the front are pointing backward!

My only complaint about the Traxxas Hoss, is the Price.

@EvanStreams Sure thing, your right. Here in Australia, the Traxxas Hoss is $930 in a Local Hobby Shop. For $899 you can buy a Arrma Typhon 6s 1/8 Buggy. So the little Traxxas Hoss is to expensive, $230 more than a Traxxas Stampede VXL 4x4 at $700.
The value of the hoss would be 400$ at MAX? You can get a 4s truck for that money man.. no wait hoss is over 450$ 🤣 bunny hop king tho

It’s newest monsters truck Stampede/big foot/Summit/Revo 3.0/ Maxx chassis such oldest slash 4x4 high gravity with VXL3 and lowest servo and mix parts. Low arm need to go RPM on durability, Servo with 400 would be better but would rather Savox 1210 more torque and speed. 3S will destroys drive shafts links but 2S should be great on OEM. Been surprised Kev it had not broken faster for those parts. Oh and servo link need be not plastic cuz will be stripped as usual. Seem the improvement is there but not max better. Cheers great review
