  • Today we review the newest member of next gen vehicles from Traxxas, the all-new Hoss VXL Monster Truck. We'll make a few high-speed runs, perform bunny-hops, and maybe pull off a backflip or two. Can the Hoss keep up? Keep watching to find out.

    Reviews from hobby stores like this here there are no where else i think. I am not sure, but maybe is the only rc hobby store that make honest reviews with bashing hard driving, depends the rc car for what type of driving is made. Reminds me honest reviews from other rc channels, that bash the rc cars and show their (weaknesses) not always weaknesses, depends how you drive also, nothing is unbreakable. I don't think you will see somewhere else rc cars bashing, jumps, top speeds AND show you the damages and how much they cost from an rc hobby store. If i was american AMain Hobbies would be one of my choices from what i see from their video content. Guys you should continue to do videos like this here. Also i remember from another of your videos to show a weakness of the traxxas e revo 2.0 that breakes often the steering rod that i think you set the camper of the front wheels. This honesty makes more customers, very much appreciated guys, you do very good job from what i see from your videos.

    I bought a HOSS today, went with the orange and purple body. I was going to purchase the Summit but I couldn’t pass this truck up. I am totally new to ground RC as I fly mostly Helis and Planks. Living on 2 acres of land I figured why not try this aspect of the hobby. Looking forward to giving it a rip tomorrow.

    One of my friends just bought one of these. He let me try it out. Coming from old school brushed and VXL Stampede's all I have to say is the torque is insane. I think it can ride wheelies indefinitely while still accelerating. There seems to be no end to the torque. The cons are that you run out of room really quick, and sometimes you don't want it to be riding wheelies but if you floor it that's what your going to get.

To X-MAXX 8-S, (MINE) E-REVO 2.0 (Running in training mode) and MAXX (Also running in training mode) Hit me with the hate for buying these for kiddos, but the comment is what I've personally compared. I would never buy another Traxxas product again. I bought 2 rustlers at once with two optional battery chargers and two optional Lipo batteries. Right out of the box one of the receivers was bad and both battery chargers were bad. It took over a month for Traxxas to agree to replace the battery chargers and even still they wanted me to pay for the return shipping of the battery chargers to them. They did replace the receiver without any issue right away. However I was responsible for providing video evidence of all of these issues. Two months later after receiving the product the receiver went bad in the second car. Now the factory will not warranty it. They again want me to pay for a part that went bad on a 2 month old $500 RC car. These cars only come with a 30 day warranty. Purchase yourself an Arrma vehicle with a two-year warranty!

    • @KTMcaptain
      @KTMcaptain Před 3 lety +2

      Nope, the spartan uses an 1800kv unit. A higher kv motor will draw more current and on higher voltage can easily exceed its power capability.

    • @PigglyWigglyDeluxe
      @PigglyWigglyDeluxe Před 3 lety

      Firestarter incorrect. It’s 2400kv not 1800kv. I’m staring straight at Traxxas website on the Spartan right now. Verbatim, it says “The VXL-6s Marine electronic speed control is built for true 6S LiPo power. On-board low voltage detection helps maintain the high-output Traxxas Power Cell batteries. The extra voltage and current maximizes the potential of the Velineon 540XL motor for extreme 50+mph speeds.”
      Keyword 540XL
      Literally the exact same motor as Maxx and Hoss. 2400kv 540XL. Identical.
      I use this motor on 6S with my E Revo. Think about it. E Revo from the box runs 2200kv. 2400kv isn’t that different at all and once you put a heat sink and fan on it, it has nearly identical thermal capacity as the 2200kv motor. You could run 6S all day long with no issue, and I do right now. Runs great. The 2400kv motor is incredibly versatile. Less top end than the 3500kv that Traxxas usually uses but way more bottom end torque.

      Yeah. They don’t last forever. I have only 2 cars. None of them being Arrma, Traxxas, RCR, or anything like that. One of them is electric, the other is nitro. The one that’s electric is not the beat thing ever. I’ve upgraded it a bit. I do think it’s time for a good brand car. I don’t even know what I want. I’ve seen way to many good cars. I want an X-maxx. My local hobby store carries the Arrma Kraton which looks awesome!

    I really like this truck for what it is it’s actually pretty solid offering. I know it’s been said a thousand times but I don’t like the price. If it came in lower price I think it’s a great 3s basher truck. It looks tough, it’s easy to work on, no slipper, bigger motor, proven vxl3s. Not bad at all. I wonder if they would do like a ultimate edition with the aluminum hubs, gtr aluminum shocks and hexes that would be very cool

    • @nobodynoone3428
      @nobodynoone3428 Před 3 lety +1

Still took a lot of money and upgrades, still have breaks, what doesn't (well honestly I have not had anything break on my race vehicles 🤷‍♂️).
