- This is Valheim's BIGGEST and BEST Update Yet. It will blow you away, and bring you back to the game for months to come. Before you go any further, Spoilers await you, you've been warned!
This Viking Survival Game has been in Early Access since early 2021, blew up last Spring, and has seen small incremental updates since then. THAT HAS ALL CHANGED. The new Mistlands update adds a brand new biome to explore which will grant you tens (if not hundreds) of hours of tough, visceral and rewarding gameplay. The update comes with an array of new insect-like mobs, dwarven NPCs, new mist mechanics and tonnes of magical weapons and armour to craft.
Join me on my 1st Adventure into the Mistlands and get a taste of just how many incredible things are on offer in this brand new biome.
The current Mistlands update is part of the Public Test Branch version of the game, if you want to play this version just go to your steam properties for Valheim, click Betas and select the Public Test Branch version. If this isn't available, type yesimadebackups into the text bar in the Betas tab, this is the PW for the PTB.
I made this video as my 1000 subscriber special, and completely forgot to mention it in the video as I was so excited about the new Mistlands update XD I just want to thank each and every one of my subscribers again for watching my videos, I love doing this and hopefully the more subs and returning viewers I get, the more videos I can make! :)

The quality and depth jump for the Mistlands makes me excited for when Ashlands and Deep North come, but it also has me hoping the Devs take a 2nd pass over the older biomes. Add in some new crafting materials and creatures, perhaps they spawn only after defeating the region's boss. Horses in the Meadows, Spiders in the Black Forest, Goats in the Mountains, Fox in the Plains maybe. Couple of additions to freshen up the early game experience for returning players whenever they put out Valheim 1.0
They’re definitely gonna add stuff to the older biomes once they’ve finished Ashlands and Deep North, but I think they’ll focus on finishing the game first! Also have to do a big overhaul for the Ocean biome!

@@II-tv1fc I remember a dev talking about this before - apparently the Ocean boss will be a bonus boss that you can attack at any point and you get a special item or items! Sounds really cool’
I think the ashlands will be next map because it's going to need the mats for the same metal that uses on thor's mjolnir and that metal will be coming from the deepnorth

Remembering those times with my friends that last year we're wondering when will be the new bosses update, then now it finally came.
2:20 I came up with this same video technique a while back. I'll be using it in a project in the far-off future. I'd never seen anyone use it before, but it looks like you beat me to it. Very nice! Liked and subbed.
Very good eye ;) it’s extremely awkward to get the perfect moment, pause and go into free fly mode and then press pause again right after free fly is enabled as free fly turns the game back on again, it’s defo a skill to learn 😂 but once you’ve got it - sorted ;) thanks for subbing too mate really appreciate that 🙏🏻

Lmao sounds like me my first experience my buddy gave me a hammer and leather top and bottom and a flint knife and told me to have fun while he was building his base lmao, we’ll long story short I died pretty easily wound up in the moutains and lost my stuff and thought the game was wack. Well after getting a sudden urge to play it… 315 hours later… 😂

Fun fact. The seeker Soldiers were initally named Seeker Brutes, but were changed due to Brood and Brute being homonymous. I was also confused when I saw the patch notes :D

Thanks so much! If you’re using a mod manager your original steam folder should be untouched and so you should be able to update to public test branch and play vanilla until full Mistlands release and mods are updated!
@@JellyJamBoyGaming I don't use a mod manager. I prefer to install them myself so I know what's going on and fix anything that goes wrong. But yes it can be a pain. BTW, just wanted to say that I enjoy your style of Valheim videos using narration. I find it more compelling to watch. I hope you get tons of subscribers soon!

I used to mod the exact same way as you cuz I wanted to understand what was happening, once you feel comfortable with it, I’d suggest going for R2modman mod manager and downloading mods that way, it’s very easy to swap over and reinstall mods, especially as Valheim is such a small download :)
@@JellyJamBoyGaming Thanks for the advice. I'll try that mod manager next time. It is a pain doing it manually. I'll just wait a week or two after Mistlands is released and go back into it. One more thing...Earlier this year I started following another CZcamsr that was doing narrative style videos with Valheim. He had under 20k subs. He's about to hit 100k. I truly believe it was the narration and his excitement in playing the game that got him there. You can do it too. Keep plugging away. Keep doing what you're doing. I think you've got that potential too. Good luck and I'll be watching your future vids. You got this.

I saw a few different mage staffs/wands in the trailer do you know if they are in the test live version?
I believe the test live version is hosting every intended new aspect of the update, all magic and items included.
My instincts would say to try out the ancient spear against the armored bugs
Turns out they have WEAK SPOTS 🙈 I didn’t know this at the time haha the devs have given all large creatures weak spots in this update!

I'm still super salty about how unbelievably slow the development on this game is.... and to say "9 months in the making" is beyond generous. They've had this game in EA for almost 2 years now and this is the first real update.
Thanks man! So yeah by 9 months I meant since the last update which added big cave dungeons to the mountains with lots of new stuff to build with them! The hearth and home update was also pretty expansive, it basically overhauled a lot of the core mechanics of the game fleshing them out a lot. But I still do see why you’re so frustrated, I am too, but unfortunately a team of about 5 devs with 2 community officers just means that development takes a lot longer than a large studio, but I know one thing - when this game is finished it will be a masterpiece, I just hope it will still be relevant and something better hasn’t come out in that time! It’s a very complicated situation, a lot more so that anyone thinks!

As a side note, I played 7days2Die when it first released (and several times since) so I've seen what "small" dev teams do... or should I say don't do... That game is coming up on 10 years Early Access I believe? And honestly the content drops each year are pretty pathetic. I see this game falling into the same situation which is upsetting.
How many Open World survival crafting games get dropped on Steam Early Access and never really go anywhere? LOTS... It's frustrating.
@@pxprimary3790 haha dude this game will go to full release probably in the next 12-18 months, but I do get the frustration, and it shows in the player count which has really dropped in recent months. Hopefully the new update will bring people back to the game! The new update is incredible.

I've seen so many open world survival games that launched EA... ultimately did very little content and either just walked away or released a broken half-assed product (and then walked away). It's a meme almost about EA Open World Survival crafting games on Steam.
This game, launched about 2 years ago on EA and Mistlands is the first real content update. To call "Hearth and Home" more than just a basic cosmetic addition for playing dress-up at your house is to be dishonest.
Mistlands is the first real content addition with new enemies, new meaningful things to craft, new locations to explore, etc.
And they have been working on it for way longer than 9 months.
In any case, you and I going back and forth on this isn't going to change anything. If you've made your channel dedicated to this game obviously you're a huge fan and really love it. Personally, myself and my group of friends enjoyed it at release and were excited for updates... but all of that is gone now that game is almost 2 years old and the first real content update still isn't officially fully released (I think it's beta build or something?)

how do you record those frozen in time rotating 3d videos with valheim?
I was waiting for someone to ask that 😉 you can pause the game and then hit free fly and quickly pause the game again, then you can fly around with the free fly cam while the game is paused! You can get some amazing cinematic action shots this way!

Maybe i gave up too early because it seemed too tough and uncontrollable.

The game has improved by MILES since a year ago, but it’s still as hard as it was then, you should try have a second go if you’ve got time and just take your time progressing and enjoy building really nice bases and stuff as you go and prep is everything in the game, if you’ve got the best armour and some potions for each biome you’ll be just fine!
I am mixed. It seems a bit to hard for a solo player. The knockbacks are obnoxious and seekers are never alone. Add a flying booger and 2 insects and its game over. I think the knockbacks at least need some adjustment

Do I need to start a new game and beat yagluth again? I keep hearing that we are using something from him. Can’t even remember what we got after killing him
No new game required! You just need to find a new Mistlands that you haven’t explored before! If you have the Yagluth thing drop already it will be automatically changed on updating to the new torn spirit which you need to build a wisp fountain in the Mistlands which makes wisps which you craft with silver to make wisplight which pushes the mist away from you so you can see! :)

incredible video!!! however... pretty slippery/lucky of you to play on an old world, that clear area at the start wasn't supposed to be clear! it resulted in an amazing looking video though!
Woooah you’ve got a keen eye ;) one of the devs said old worlds have better Mistlands so that’s why I chose an old world! Apparently the mist is patchy like that in new world too though, especially if the Mistlands meets the ocean!

Once the stable Mistlands comes out in a week or two it will break some mods, but mod makers will fix them within a few days of that and all will be well

Aesthetically i love the update content wise a bit underwhelmed? I feel like its a biome that'll be too short gameplay wise, resources are easy to come by and enemies aren't that difficult except for the flying thing hopefully the boss is at least difficult

There actually is a new feather cape which allows you to glide and take no fall damage but I just haven’t found it yet! This was just the story of my first look at the update!

Early access my ass the game was done, and they lazily sat on the sales that only increased over the years and did nothing to add to the game. Adding pots pans and a door is not an update but to each their own.
