Why Anakin In Ahsoka Is NOT Who You Think He Is...

  • The last few episodes of Ahsoka truely have been astounding. Seeing Clone Wars Anakin again was in my opinion even more exciting than the Vader Obi Wan duel we saw in Kenobi. But was this really Anakin or was he just imagined? Or perhaps he was something much more? In this episode we will explore what this version of Anakin potentially could have been. And of course, this episode will be spoiler heavy, so please click away if you have not yet seen Ahsoka.
Before we begin, a quick update on the the lightsaber giveaway As stated in previous videos, the giveaway will end on the same date as the final episode of Ahsoka. As a reminder, I’ll be giving away a lightsaber of the winner's choice from the VF sabers range. So make sure to check out the catalogue using this link in case you win. All you have to do to enter is describe your ideal lightsaber. The lightsaber design I like best will be the winner. And this can be as imaginative as you like. The last winner described a golden trident lightsaber with three black blades, so really let your creativity run wild. Best of luck everyone, and may the force be with you.
    Anyway back to the video.
So Anakin is first revealed to us in the final scene of Ahsoka episode 4, before becoming a prominent part of episode 5. Anakin takes Ahsoka on a journey through her life as a warrior during the Clone Wars, giving us a live action glimpse into the pain Ahsoka experienced during the Battle of Ryloth and the Seige of Mandalore. These scenes also explore Ahsoka’s fears that she is nothing more than a warrior, and the very un-Jedi like apprenticeship she experienced under Anakin during the tumultuous Clone Wars period. Yet despite his redemption by Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi, Anakin still appears to be conflicted, alternating between his witty self in the Clone Wars to his dark side iteration. So does this mean that Luke failed to fully redeem his father? Perhaps. But maybe that Anakins complete redemption to the light side was not the true will of the force.
Now it is first important to note some of the alternative interpretations of what Anakin was during this episode. Although not my favourite interpretation at all, some Star Wars fans are arguing that this is not really Anakin at all. They contend that Ahsoka was no where near a portal to the World Between Worlds and thus she didn’t truely enter it. Instead, this entrie episode is some kind of dream as she slowly drowns, with Anakin simply being a figment of her imagination.
But this interpretation is kind of boring, and doesn’t fully incorporate the mysticism of the force. This is further evidenced by the fact that Jacen, Hera Sendulas force sensitive son, could in some way hear the goings on in the Wrold Between Worlds, suggesting that this was not merely a dream and that it really did take place.
Others assume that Anakin is a force ghost similar to Obi-Wan, Yoda and Qui-Gon seen in past Star Wars episodes. We also know from the Return of the Jedi that Anakin did indeed become one with the force so this does kind of make sense.
And although this is sort of true, this force ghost interpretation does not tell the whole story. The force Ghost ability is unique to the purest of Jedi and users of the dark side had no way of truely mastering this powerful force ability. Thus, it seems confusing that this version of Anakin still commanded the dark side in death while others like Mace Windu, Plo Koon and others failed to become force ghosts. Additionally, force ghosts usually needed some kind of unfinished business which required them to continue manifesting themselves. If their destiny had already been fulfilled, they would simply become one with the force. So if Anakin is some kind of force ghost, what is his unfinished business? I believe this theory answers these vital questions.
The most compelling theory on the nature of Anakin during this episode is heavily focused upon his special role as the Chosen One. This theory has deep roots within legends as well as the Rebels and the Clone Wars TV shows, both Filoni driven projects which often explored the more mystical and almost mythological interpretations of what the force really is.

A similar hilt to Count Dooku’s hilt, except the curve is actually a blaster in disguise. It detaches from the actual saber. The blade itself can be a standard single blade, or an attachment can be undone, allowing it to become a curved hilt again, even with the blaster unattached. The blaster is charged from the Kyber crystal in the saber and charges while holstered. The blade is white and the weapon is wielded by a mercenary similar to Din Djarin. No force sensitivity, but somewhat of a moral code.

Not for the contest I just want to share my idea.
A lightsaber gantlet whip with three crystals and three different blades. One red (to represent the dark side), one turquoise (a combination of blue and green to represent the light side), and one purple (the representation of the balance). The gantlet would also have a shield on the back similar to what Sabine has in rebels for a strong defense.

My ideal lightsaber would have a dark steel blue hilt with gold spiral Details around and slightly below the emitter, the base having a nice solid grip, think the bottom of Darth Vader’s hilt, finishing with a silver waterfall/cape design around the ignition switch and adjusters. These adjusters change more than the lightsabers length. As you push the dial up, the blade becomes more like your average lightsaber, straight and able to cut through most anything. As you bring the dial down though, the blade starts to slacken and eventually when the dial is at the bottom, you now have your light whip. The one drawback to this is that the blade is not as hot as the lightsaber blade setting, meaning you can grip certain metals and even armored people without hurting them too much. Even with its diminished heat, it still is able to deflect blaster bolts, if you're quick enough. This elegant and simple hilt is based on Alderaanian design and is as much a tool, as a coveted artifact. The blade is a deep crimson contrasting with the steel blue hilt.

My ideal lightsaber is inspired by cal kestis and the 3rd sisters lightsaber hilt, I love the variety you can achieve with a saber staff that you can split apart and have 2 independent lightsabers to your disposal not only is it useful but it's also really cool

    My Ideal Lightsaber:
The hilt would be a mix of Dooku's curved design and Cal Kestis' double bladed saber.
It would be primarily used as a 2 handed weapon with only one blade active, but could split into two as is normal with double bladed sabers, allowing for versatility in combat depending on the situation.

I love looking at the lore and mechanics of lightsabers, and I love creating cool deigns. One of my original ideas Iv entertained is the prefect Jedi Killer's weapon. The lightsaber would be mounted half way up the forearm to a gauntlet made of lightsaber resistant metal. The saber would have two emitters, make a forked weapon made for primarily stabling. But it doesn't end there. Like the sabers used by the Imperial Inquisitors, the saber would have a ring connecting a second set of emitters, give this monster of a lightsaber the agility to spin and adding the function of being used as a shield. This saber would have to be used by a skilled duelist and would probably have to be used in tandem with the Force. I see this being a duel wielded weapon but its up to the user. I haven't given this saber a name but if I win, I will give this terrifying weapon a name worthy of its destructive capability. have a nice day :)

Honestly, my ideal lightsaber might not be for everybody, but I would go for the lava saber. I may get hurt, but if I had the force I could just use the force so sling the lava from the blade onto my opponent.

I think my ideal lightsaber would be one where the crystal is split between two gloves and you can shift the amount of blade between the two sides as you want and also combine them in the middle but do all of it very smoothly and seamlessly.

for the contest cause i like free things and being creative:
two long hilts with smallish blade to make a sword spear thingy (think ashendari from wheel of time including) with flat blades not the classic cylinder (more details on blades later) either one can be slightly expanded/shrunk in diameter to fit inside the other with only the one "on top" being able to be ignited or both could be used at the same time if separated, though this would be hard to do due to their length instead you'd probably have a friend/ally use the other one. One of the hilts would be black very limited gold accents, and etched into it, green vine like designs that wrap around with pink flowers (Life). The other hilt shall be a dark matte steel grey color with harsh, bone white accents and a two black ravens shown in flight with wingtips touching around the emitter with beaks pointing with the blade (Death). Life would have a dark emerald green blade exuding a sense of tranquility, peace, and confidence in to the wielder with a sound simmiler to that of a normal lightsaber but as if being sung by birds. Death would have not a quite pure white blade, but a slightly off white blade, more like bone white, with a slight yellowish tinge, exuding a deep sense of wrongness into all who are near it (including the wielder), and fear into the one(s) facing it, the blade would make a high pitched wailing sound a sort of a cross between tormented souls screeching in agony and that of the dark saber.
Both hilts considering their spear like length are made of some sort of lightsaber resistant material (you would want to get in a saber lock with them, but they'll block a quick strike). The way the change of diameter would work is likely the grip is made of sections made lengthwise (leaves) that could slip under each other with the mechanism being made of springy metals tabs that when expanding would push themselves to the outside against the other "leaves" allowing the other hilt to slide in (it easier to show but my artistic ability is trash, and i aint got the time or will to improve it so tough luck). Of course we cant squeeze lightsaber bits into a few millimeters of material so the components needed for the lightsaber part to function would be at the top which means there is a bit sticking out when the blades are combined which is made acceptable by blending the two designs near the end so that they move from one style to the other relatively seamlessly
Me: Wow, did i really write two paragraphs about my ideal light saber for a silly competition im likely not going to win?
Brian: Yes, i did do that
Me: Well ok then, why cant i do this for english

I would love to take the time to design a dual blade with a fluid moving hilt. Take time to imagine a matte silver blade seperated in many sections with single joints between each. Being able to harden and loosen these joints at will to create variable hilt designs both better adapts to the user and may show one's force mastery in combat. If you thought dooku's blade tilt or vader's variable blade length could disorient opponents, just you wait for a piece like this that can show the manufacturing genius of the clone wars and the rugged adaptability of the imperial era.

    For the saber contest:
It is a double bladed saber that can split like cal kestis'. It has a electrum plated emitter for one saber and a dark red plated one on the other. The main body of the hilt has very small spikes to harm the wielder to increase strength in the darkside. The colour of the body is black, with silver grooves in it. The kyber crystals are red and partially infected by the blackwing virus making it flicker between red and black. The coupler (I think that's what it's called) is white and has a Gorog drawn (welded?) Into it. The 2 hilts are basically tethered together by a tractor field like mechansim that allows you to swing it like a nunchuck but if the chain was invisible and has more elasticity and a lot more range (about 2.5 metres)
