    Id say even though it had its flaws the inquisitior lightsabers were probably the most deadly blade if it was used in the right hands unlike the amateur inquisitors. Ghostfire crystal supposedly made the users moves hard to predict, not only that but made the opponent see illusions of the users, that paired with the spinning hilt made of phrik would probably make the deadliest combination (cannon that is), especially if the blades were made at different angles

    Either way, both would have dual-phase blades, blaster modes, hand protection of some kind, and be made of heavily resistant or otherwise impervious materials. Any crystal that amplifies either the saber or the user (pref both) without being corruptive will do.

    Though I've not seen one yet, there could be a possibility of Lightdaggers. Fitted single-hand grips made of light Beskar Alloy with the thumb button for instant activation toggle. Within each of the 2 daggers, a Hurrikan crystal. "It is said that these crystals were particularly good at quickening ones reflexes and connection to the force, allowing the wielder to better penetrate opponents defenses." The explained details of that crystal, especially the reflexes and defense penetration, could make for a very good assassin dagger. The size of these particular Hurrikan crystals chosen for these are smaller though, so they can fit in the daggers. Depending on possible size variations of that particular crystal, they could be more or less common. I don't know the topology of the planet so I can't be certain.

    From the styles I've held (Qui Gon, all Obi Wan styles, Darth Maul, Anakin, Vader, Luke), rotj luke by far was the best handle. Its lower part allows you really drive power attacks like anakin/vader lightsabers which are just murder sticks and could probably kill people without the blade on, in particular your thumb holding the fat button section with Luke and Anakins sabers. But with Lukes if you choke up really high you get an amazing degree of manipulation with how it grooves into your hand. The middle section is very solid though I'd probably swap the grooves with Obi Wan's early lightsabers or maybe Qui Gons, or at least finish make the silver rings in the black section go all the way up to the brase. The other can allow you to kind of grab around the center but I generally found it lacking and its the main reason rotj lukes saber is better than say ben kenobis.

      most handguards wouldnt be useful on a "curved hilt" bc how you hold a curved hilt would make it very impratical to move, this isnt something i cant easily explain unless i was in person with both of my battle curved saber and sword hilt
      if were talking about straight hilts it would a little more pratical.
      most hanguards only protect about 10-20%, of your hands at most before becoming heavy/impratical in use. jedi and sith almost always lost up to there wrists and forearms, not just hands, if you look at major hand losses like dooku, anakin and luke ,a handguard wouldnt have saved them

    While this saber would work quite well, I do believe some improvements can be made. Firstly, while making the hilt out of Beskar seems like a good idea for forms that require heavier strikes, like Djem So, forms that rely on quicker movements like Makashi and Soresu would require lighter materials. For this, I'd turn to either phrik or a phrik-beskar alloy. This would significantly reduce is weight while retaining its ability to be lightsaber-resistant. As for the crystal, I'd probably pick a ghostfire crystal. While Ankarres sapphires have powerful healing properties, the focus of this saber is combat. Furthermore, Ankarres sapphires, to my knowledge, only have confirmed healing properties in Legends material. Ghostfire crystals, on the other hand, are nearly invisible, silent, and disorient opponents with afterimages of the blade. Combined with a form that activates and deactivates the lightsaber mid-combat, (I believe form 6 does this?), and you're left with a form of lightsaber combat that even Dooku would struggle to fight against. As for the hilt, its features end up being very subjective, but while Dooku's hilt design works well for lighter forms, heavier forms would benefit from something closer to Anakin's hilt design, which, while heavy, was very versatile, and still enabled him to change the length and power of the blade at will.

    • @BitedownPetey
      @BitedownPetey  Před 5 měsíci +1

      in raw power Ankarres gaps nearly any other crystal in canon, the ghostfire crystal doesnt innately have powerful properties to put it in the powerful category, maybe deadliest but the ghostfire in actual power functions as an ordinary crystal
      and beskar not in its purest form is lighter then any other lightsaber resistant metal

    • @Aqua_Spider
      @Aqua_Spider Před 5 měsíci

      @@BitedownPetey Problem is, impure beskar is just that: impure. The more impurities it has, sure, the lighter it is, but that also reduces its ability to resist lightsabers. And if you're restricting yourself to Canon, then ankarres sapphires work much differently in canon than in legends. There's only one Ankarres Sapphire in Legends, for one, and for another, the ankarres sapphires in Canon have no confirmed specialized properties. So either you use Legends lore and restrict yourself the same way you would by choosing the Darksaber's crystal **while** ignoring adherence to canon, or you forego the specialized properties that the Ankarres Crystal has.

    • @BitedownPetey
      @BitedownPetey  Před 5 měsíci +1

      The Ankarress sapphire and its abilities has been canon for a while now, idk where your frame of reference for this source is but it’s pretty well known
      I never said I was using a beskar alloy, merely that not all beskar is heavy, pure beskar is the most powerful metal, replacing the material with anything other the 1# means it’s not the most powerful
      it’s convenient

    • @Aqua_Spider
      @Aqua_Spider Před 4 měsíci

      @@BitedownPetey You said impure beskar. That implies an alloy. And I agree that an alloy would work better. I personally think that properly balancing an alloy of beskar and phrik would work quite well, as both are highly lightsaber resistant.
      As for the Ankarres Sapphire, its properties were detailed in KOTOR 2 and Star Wars Galaxies, which are, unfortunately, no longer in canon, to my knowledge. In canon, the only material we have to go off of is an offhand mention of it in The High Republic, in which it's detailed that there are multiple, and in which no properties are mentioned. I do agree that the Ankarres Sapphire would be a very powerful crystal, and I think it's a fantastic choice that I wouldn't have thought of, but using it also negates your adherence to canon.

  • @ReclaimerTyphoon
    @ReclaimerTyphoon Před 9 dny

    On one hand, if "size matters not", and you've mastered, effectively, ignoring the weight and inertia of anything and everything, then the densest material possible is ideal - if you drop it, it won't bounce and slide around as much, and nobody is going to just take it off of you/pick it up/use it against you. On the other hand, if using something heavy requires focus/active Force use, then the *least* dense material would be best, with the exception that you wouldn't want something that warps or becomes brittle with temperature changes, or allows liquid/gas/pest ingress.
    And with all of that said, a chassis of Beskar for the sake of protecting against blaster fire/lightsaber attacks is pointless. It would be like coating your car in titanium, then driving into a volcano. You're still going to die/everything else in and around the car is going to vaporize/liquify/burn. Encasing a battery-powered device in the best metal ever is only useful if the metal dissipates heat quickly enough to prevent the internals from heating up (the chassis of a lightsaber is thin, it's not going to be enough to matter). Also, buttons, dials, and anything non-Beskar on the hilt is going to be damaged immediately, too.
    Also, it should go without saying, if you're planning to take blaster fire or blade attacks *where your hands are*, you should reconsider using a bladed weapon at all/being someone who wields a weapon. The galaxy needs retail workers, too, you know?
    You're better off with something slightly more durable/stable than wood, in whatever shape and size that is comfortable to your hands, for the style(s) of combat you use, and something that is easy and cheap to make, so you can have two extras in your ship, one extra at your base of operations, one at every checkpoint/cache you keep in the places your frequent, and you can just make one if you need it, without a second thought about what it's made out of, etc.

    Good, but I would add a few things. Since Baskar is described as being incredibly durable, but heavy, use a thinner layer of Baskar around a shell of a different material. For the inner shell, strength wouldn’t matter so much but heat resistance would. From the scenes in the Mandalorian, the main appeal to Baskar seems that it’s incredibly heat and warping resistant. So in order to become light saber or blaster resistant, I don’t think it needs to be very thick. Another important thing to add would be hand protection. Either in the cross style similar to cross guard lightsaber. While you could make it like a cross guard saber, I don’t like that very much. I would rather just have a cross guard or some type of swept tilt with a knuckle bow made also out of Baskar. Essentially, you would get something much like a traditional Italian or Spanish rapier in terms of guard and protection, but with the benefits of a light saber, simultaneously possessing the forwardness of many sabers with the hilt design to allow for the blade to align forward with the wrist. The curved hilt is one of my favorites because you don’t actually need to hit hard with a light saber.

    • @BitedownPetey
      @BitedownPetey  Před 5 měsíci

      only pure beskar is described as being heavy, when alloyed its extremely lightweight, i only wouldnt add a crossguard on a curved hilt bc its counterintuitive to the shape of a hilt and would restrict your movements not be compatible with most forms
      and just hand protection in general is useless in the star wars verse bc most dismemberments are much further then any handguard cover

    • @screamingtaco2190
      @screamingtaco2190 Před 5 měsíci

      @@BitedownPetey dismemberments yeah, the reason why I say, I like guards is cause you can bind with guards which you can’t do with a normal lightsaber. As for the forms… I kind of forgot the existed. Literally, the forms make absolutely zero sense as combat techniques. When I thought of this design, I’m only thinking of single-handed use. Because there’s basically no reason to use two hands with light saber. Like, you can do it, but it’s going to sublimate literally whatever it touches for the most part. The only times when two hands would actually be useful, would be if you in particular situations against someone else who is using two hands trying to push your blade. But cross guards could help with this because hand protection would allow you to bind or push someone’s blade away with a part of your blade that otherwise wouldn’t have the ability. it also physically covers more space around the sword in a horizontal line. That might not sound like a lot, but it would be very useful and preventing an Anakin.

    • @screamingtaco2190
      @screamingtaco2190 Před 5 měsíci

      @@BitedownPetey I guess, but you could always just make the light saber smaller since it only needs to be used in one hand. You could literally make it half the size. Star Wars always confuse me with why there is some light sabers that were large and some that were smaller. Even if it’s made of a denser material the light saber itself only having small amounts of it on sections as well as being half the size, shouldn’t be as heavy as a full-size one.
      Also, this is just a nitpick, but in the Star Wars films, almost all of the situations were characters or amputated, could’ve easily been avoided. I’m not saying an amputation wouldn’t be effective but light sabers, it’s just most of it seems to come from plot convenience with the weird spins they do. Light saber forms were derived a very botched form of Kendo Which is probably why Labers don’t have good guards. It just irks me in the films because it just looks ridiculous sometimes. It’s like if someone emerged kendo and ballerina dancing. Count Dooku fights, the closest to how you’d actually want to use a lighter. Still over exaggerate as hell but closer than the others. Primarily that is on our position is always keeping the points putting as much of distance between any of your limbs and the light sabers as possible, which, literally no one ever does for some reason.

    Somehow, I don't think a crystal full of healing properties would operate very effectively in a tool designed to injure and kill. Now as a joke- I wonder what a dilithium crystal would do in a saber ;-) Fastest blade of them all? Lol

      in raw power Ankarres gaps nearly any other crystal in canon, its just happens to have egendary healing properties

    Most lightsabers are kyber crystals, I don't even know what you're talking about only works on one planet, that's a lie, I also don't agree with your choice of saphire stone being that it is made for combat ergo you'd eventually fall somewhat into the dark side

      1. "The "Kaiburr" crystal was an ancient Force relic, initially located on the planet Circarpous V, locally known as Mimban". I very clearly made the difference on the crystal section between kaiburr and kyber which ARE two different things, the fact that out of 3k+ ppl u were the only person to struggle with this concept means your knowledge is clearly lacking and u didnt watch the full video
      2. where did i say sapphire stone was made only for combat "The Ankarres Sapphire possessed legendary healing powers and numerous other affects that could aid a jedi in battle", were in "legendary healing powers" does that sound like its purely made for combat?
      Iv seen previous comments of urs hidden by CZcams an imma js say this in star wars terms, it seems your knowledge is that of a youngling while mines is of a grandmaster, meditate on that before calling me a liar

    Really Beskar? Why not Cortosis and Beskar, it would be much better.

      Mostly bc cort isn’t really that strong comparatively, and it can actually be fragile, also it absorbs heat like no other metal, the last thing I’d want is my saber hilt getting hot or potentially short circuiting

      @@BitedownPetey well for starters a magma crystal majorly changes every fight I'm in, not only am i using a blade but i now have a ranged attack as magma seeps from the blade and can be used as many things. As for the hilt a cortosion blade guard so that i can willingly shut down their blade and a mix of beskar and phrik for the lower portion.The hilt I'd go with a double bladed design with the aforementioned blade guard from count dooku and an additional hand guard, a small domed shape to protect my own hands so that i have more options at any given moment though only one blade will be used at a time since its occasionally leaking lava, that's a choice of course as both can be activated its just a bad idea to spin a blade like that when it can be used against myself.
      This gives me a saber that can be used in more ways than traditional blades, has a ranged effect for when the enemy tries to draw distance and can be used to shut down theirs.
      While im at it it's worth mentioning lava blades are heavier so them taking it to use against mre is made difficult due to their assumed unfamiliarity with heavier blades and the fact lava seeps from it which again hand guard but still allows me to take advantage of the projectiles its making while operating.
      A highly specialized saber built with the express purpose of fighting and winning, versatile and creative allowing for many unconventional methods of fighting, this is a sabre with one crystal, Im not allowed to mix and match otherwise id make something better.

      "additional hand guard, a small domed shape to protect my own hands" hand guard isnt going to protect your hands in actual lightsaber battle where almost every dismemberment has been at the wrist or further, anakin,dooku, luke, windu etc
      putting a cortosis as a handguard to protect you from the pieces of lava is probably the ill-advised
      choice, cortosis is known for absorbing and distrubuting the heat faster then any other metal, it burns up the user holding the lightsaber and potentially overheats it.
      "a cortosion blade guard so that i can willingly shut down their blade" you cant willingy shut off someones blade, its depends on the slight chance if their saber hits your hilt while not cutting your hands off the in the process
      lava crystals also splashed and dripped every including around the user, so its outside of the users will, its not some lava launcher blade that can thrown at will, so not only do you not have long or medium range, it can easily harm the user
      ur crystal and choice of metal is counterintuitive, double bladed hilt isnt much different then a single blade hilt if ur mainly just using a single blade, and you reduced the durability of the blade for the chance off a lightsaber hitting a "specific" part of your hilt (not all your hilt is made out of cortosis)

      @@BitedownPetey you misinterpret what i said, look at dookus hilt, you see that part that sticks up ,you know, the blade, yeah id be using one of those as for the domes those are for protecting me from the lava, id be using the force for the rest of it, the blade is cortosis the rest of the hilt is the mix i said, and blade durability ist a thing its a lazer sword its not going to lose its edge it cuts in any direction it connects so i dont see your point at all.
      The fact is your saber is fine for you but its really not as powerful as you say, we would both lose out to a ghostfire since they are invisible.
      Mine offers versatility and additional tactics, if utilised properly its a blade that does in fact fling lava theres no reason why it wouldnt work. the biggest downside is how destructive it really is.

    • @BitedownPetey
      @BitedownPetey  Před 5 měsíci

      Blade durability absolutely is a thing,we already have seen this in temple guard pikes vs common lightsabers, so idk where you got this idea
      Using cortosis for a small part of a blade that has never been hit has no use, but now the fact that ur lightsaber is now exposed to the lava crystal makes the lightsaber more dangerous to the the lava regardless bc now u dnt have a proper cover for your hands or saber
      Not mention my crystal boosts offensive and healing by a “legendary” margin ,Your crystal is only rumored to be powerful but canon wise it causes more harm to u then the actual opponent,ur crystal is the opposite of versatile in the fact that ur one advantage is the biggest disadvantage, while I have healing, power, boost combative effects
      Ghost crystals aren’t canon so your point has no pull, but let’s go there
      Ghost fires don’t blatantly have power, their regular crystals, that are silent crystals and produce after images,their actual power signature is that of a regular crystal, my crystal easily counters the ghost crystals bc I get a significant combat boost and can have uncanny focus and sense moreso in battle to detect the blade, as for you against the ghost crystal, you’d have to worry about two lightsabers which puts doubles your risk at best
