- For a thousand generations, the sith plagued the galaxy, under numerous iterations. Initially, they were a unique species with red skin, most notably led by King Adas, a powerful wielder of the dark side who possessed a semblance of honor. However, the true evolution into the Order of the Sith Lords didn't occur until 7,000 years before the Battle of Yavin. This transformation followed The Hundred-Year Darkness, a tumultuous era that ended with the defeat of the Dark Jedi, led by the infamous Ajunta Pall. Instead of destroying these defeated Dark Jedi, the Jedi, choosing mercy over destruction, exiled them to the far reaches of space. This decision, though intended to be kind, inadvertently set the stage for a dark transformation. When these exiles arrived on Korriban, they conquered the native Sith species, marking the beginning of the Sith Order. This new order would come to symbolize the enduring power and persistence of the dark side throughout history.
Over the coming milenia, the Sith Empire achieved many things, but were almost always defeated. From Naga Sadow, to Exar Kun and even vitiate, all were eventually defeated by the Jedi. The Sith Empire, was often weakened by competing Sith Lords, a weakness often exploited by the Jedi.
But the Sith limped on for milenia, slowly losing their power. But they perpetually rebounded from the verge of obliteration. Eventually the Sith sought to prevent the constant infighting that had weakned their order of the milentia, declaring that each of them would be equal. This though was a fundamental misunderstanding of the dark side, an energy that required competition, strength and power to be fully harnessed. Darth Bane recognised this weakness. Darth Bane destroyed the Sith Order using a dark side ritual, using this destruction to transform the Sith into something entirely different: the rule of two sith. By obliterating the extant Sith Order and establishing the Rule of Two, Bane not only safeguarded the Sith legacy but also primed the stage for their eventual reprisal. It was under the ominous sovereignty of Lord Sidious that the Sith's long-cherished goal was actualized - the formation of the inaugural Galactic Empire, an empire under the unchallenged rule of the Sith.
Yet, this epoch of Sith domination was fleeting. The Jedi, reemerging akin to a phoenix from the ashes of near annihilation, ultimately toppled the Empire. Palpatine died at the hands of his apprencie, Vader, and the Sith appeared to be vanquished.
However, after Palpatine, the Sith lineage continued, first through the Lost Tribe of the Sith, a topic for another day, and Darth Krayt. Krayt, a Sith Lord of unprecedented might and foresight, repudiated the Rule of Two, criticizing it as an archaic tenet that had culminated in Sidious's demise at the hand of Vader. In Krayt's perspective, Bane's strategy, while pioneering in its era, had evolved into a hindrance. Krayt posited that Sidious, upon clinching the Galactic Empire, ought to have forsaken this rule, doing away with Vader and fully embracing the mantle of the rule of one that Palpatine had come close to implementing.
Hence, under Darth Krayt's stewardship, the Sith underwent a profound reformation. Krayt introduced the Rule of One - a doctrine championing the absolute sovereignty of a solitary, unopposed Sith Lord, buttressed by a cadre of adherents. This novel paradigm, envisioned by Krayt and reverberated by his acolytes like Darth Wyyrlok, signified a divergence from the constraints of Bane's philosophy. Krayt's aspiration extended beyond mere dominion; he endeavored to reforge the Sith Order's very essence.
At the heart of the Rule of One was the enshrinement of a solitary Dark Lord of the Sith as the uncontested sovereign, epitomizing the Sith Order in its entirety. Darth Krayt assumed this mantle, reshaping the Sith into a monolithic entity, with subordinates, minions, and disciples rallying under one banner. This framework seemed to rectify the deficiencies of bygone Sith overlords, who frequently fell to internecine conflicts and bids for supremacy. Krayt, ostensibly, had unearthed the panacea: to cultivate fanatical, almost devout, allegiance among his followers, thereby forestalling any insurrection that might jeopardize his ascendancy.
This strategy did retain facets of age-old Sith traditions. The dyadic master-apprentice dynamic was upheld, with each master mentoring their selected apprentice. Yet, the culmination of this mentorship diverged markedly from historical precedent. Rather than the apprentice overthrowing the master to manifest their ascendancy and vigor, the act of murdering their mentor morphed into an expression of absolute fealty to Darth Krayt and the Sith crusade.

@@thescarlet9620that’s because the chosen one prophecy didn’t exist. It was basically Vader being a random Jedi who betrayed the Jedi. A lot of people don’t know that the Prequels came up with the Chosen One Prophecy and Midi-Clorians.
Darth Kryat wouldn't listen to Darth Bane. The sith were only a shadow of themselves at the very end. It really ended with Palpatine and Vader
They were still powerful under Krayt,especially in number, but I agree. Krayts rule of one encouraged the same infighting and issues that Darth bane tried to avoid w the rule of two. It was a step back for the Sith imo
@@aamirrazak3467 The Rule of Two is stupid and impractical. It's a great subversion mechanism, but If falls short after the Sith actually took over, two guys all by themselves cannot rule a galaxy don't matter how powerful. The result is the Galactic Empire, a chaotic and non-meritocratic shithole in which nothing works, everybody is a backstabbing moron and nobody is happy. You cannot project power and authority efficiently without more Sith, and more Sith means infighting.
In the end, Vitiate was right - fusing all souls of the galaxy into one seems to be the only effective form of governance in Star Wars. It's either that or fiding a way to turn the force itself into a hivemind (which is at least on paper what Sidious's Dark Empire SHOULD be, despite the fact he never elaborates on how he will acomplish that).

Neither did Pagueis' Master and Sidious. Sidious wanted to keep taking apprentices and killing them for all time, remaining the master forever. Krayt imbued most of his order with too much loyalty to him. they did not know how to function without him

In practice, siths organisation of ancient times were best: free competition of a number of lords. Both one and two are too vulnerable, and, if killed, all knowledge of dark side is lost. Yes, multitude creates infighting, but it is lesser problem.
This always bothered me. It only takes one hyperdrive-malfunction or some other event of statistical bad luck, and your lineage is over.
Having a rule of 2 is super edgy, but hardly practical.
I really like Darth Krayt as a character, and how he serves a villain that links the prequels OT and new Jedi order/legacy eras. And his one Sith did conquer and rule the galaxy for 7 years. But I did think his rule of one was a step back and encouraged the same problems that Darth bane tried to avoid w the rule of 2
Honestly speaking though his Rule of One performed a lot better. Especially since it encouraged them to stop fucking fighting eachother for power all the time.

Whenever Jedi get ahold of the Sith, they always seem to turn it into a dark mirror of the Jedi.
This is not a pathetic end. They conquered the jedi, waited for centuries and Luke skywalker prepared for them and they grew, he died decades before the sith, emerged and then his descendants lost. Krayt achieved his goal of “enlightening” cade, just not as a sith. The one sith return to hiding, along with Lord Nihl in command of their remnants.

The deaths of Nihl, Talon, Maladi, Ramage and Wyyrlok IV were never confirmed. They just ended the EU, I wouldn’t take this claim too seriously.
morale of the story the siths are their true enemy top number one, and the jedis the second while the galaxy are the third enemy on their list.
-And this is why the rule of 2 even if lacked in number it ensure the growing power of the siths and keep them in "power everlastting" until their time to rule the Galaxy come when it was the era of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader, making their goal to destroy both the republic and the jedi order of that time.

main reason for fall of both sith and jedi was they never worked together. the jedi keeped on preeching about "balance", but non of them knew what that ment.

If I was trying to rebuild the Sith I would probably remake them in the same manner as Cobra Kai.

As long as there is the force, there will always be the Jedi and Sith, in one form another or another. People say we did not get a good end to star wars with the sequel trilogy, but I say we did with the end of Star Wars: Legacy saga in the EU. The forces of light prevail and the galaxy is at peace and life continues as well as the cycle of existence .

Let's ignore the Yuzohng Vong for a moment... the fact is, the Sith idiology intentionally resembles fascism, and fascism by its very nature always needs an enemy to point the attention at and galvanize the forces against. It's why in the book 1985, the government is always at war with someone, and it can change from week to week. The specific enemy doesn't matter, so long as there IS an enemy.
So my idea is this... what if a Sith lord of the old eras chose to take an exploratory vessel or fleet out to a new galaxy (using dark side powers to shorten the distance by ripping space itself) to establish a new sith order, bring old artifacts with them to ensure that they remember their past and where their power comes from, and their ancient enemy, and find new foes to conquer and vanquish. Whether they succeed or not is immaterial, the fact is now? The Sith from the galaxy far far away now know that there is a force of Sith out there that have not fallen to the Jedi, they may not have even fallen to in-fighting, and are gaining strength, a threat to them. They must then always have a foe to face, a reason to keep themselves from completely submitting to barbarism; perhaps that is a way to keep them from eating themselves long enough to gain a larger number of Darths and Dark Acolytes?
While I get that people love the whole "Rule of 2" idea. Namely because it leans into our concept that infighting is bad, and that working together is good. The Sith controlled about half of the galaxy for over 10,000 years while having the Sith Council. They hid in the shadows for 1,000 years, under the Rule of 2, and then failed to rule the galaxy for 30yrs.
It would seem that the in fighting actually was not so bad, really. The Rule of 2 kept the Sith relegated to the shadows for almost its entire existence, and then left them with far too narrow of a power base once they stepped out of the shadows. People act as if it was only ever under the Rule of 2 that the Sith had gotten the Jedi onto the back foot, but this is, also, not true. The Jedi and Sith had nearly wiped each other out a few times before.
As cool as Krayt is, his rule of one kinda defeats the purpose of what it should be. Sidious's version was better minus not securing an apprentice for his final years
Do we mean with "End of the siht" just the ending of the particular continuity of a organisations base traditions/tenets, or do we mean dark-force sensitives that organise themself generaly? The former is archiveable if the galaxys government(s) would actually care for sufficiently purging them & their scrolls,artefacts,tombs etc, one has to wonder why the heck sith-worlds like korriban & all of it' ruins have not been completly bombed to the ground a long time ago lol. The later is basically a impossible feat as long as force sensitives keep being born, cuz some will be born or become selfish,power hungry, angry etc, & organise together in order to have better chances against common opponents to their power-grip lol.

Literally none of the rule of two makes sense, the whole craving and other having thing still exists in any master/apprentice relationship there's no need to have it only be two people.
