    I always enjoy your videos. Your one of the VERY VERY few channels that I don't feel like you're blowing smoke up my ass. Once people accept sponsorships and such you can't really believe a single word they say any more. Thanks for the videos. And honesty!

      Hi..I saw your tests with the Kalibrgun.25 ... I was asking you, in order not to make a mistake, which slug you tried is suitable for Cricket Tactical.25 barrell 60 polygonal?

    The diameter is CRITICAL. Even 0.01mm can make a difference. You are the only one making it properly. Subcalibers are a must, otherwise it is just a try and error. As of the weight - there must be the right amount of bearing surface between the slug and the bore. Twist rates are more forgiving than people think. The diameter is the KEY. If the barrel is choked then the slug diameter should be the same as the groove in the choke or just barely bigger. There is no norm in the airgun industry when it comes to barrel diemesnions hence the subcalibers are a MUST. Please bring your slugs to Europe.

    I really like your honesty. I'm going to order some of your dish .25s for the avenger soon. I'm currently shooting the FX hybrid 26gr slugs but, despite they come in a hard pltic case, 95% of them have shavings of lead on the back and sometimes in the hollow point. I literally have to go through every batch that I shoot with a tooth Pic with grooves cut into it and then follow that up with a hard bristle tooth brush. I bought 1000 of these things and I'm down to my last 200, you can imagine at this point I'm so pissed off at FX and claiming they have good quality control and even show people at their factory sifting through batch after batch picking out imperfections....that is such BS. I'm on the hunt for a good reliable and old quality slug for my avenger .25cal and I think you will be my next big ammo purchase. I really want to buy dish slugs. But the size I'm just going by whatever you would recommend. Please reply here so more people can see it. Thanks. Great shooting. Love your channel and details and the honesty. Stay true to the cause. God Bless

      Hey Aaron, I just re-slugged the .25 Avenger barrel (unmodified). Came up with a .2523 to .2525 groove diameter. I believe the 34 -37 grain .253 Dish Base will be best. In my video I made 2 years ago on the Avenger, I shot the .254 36 grain. At the time I did not make my .253 slugs. I have not tried the .253 yet.

    I purchased a Benjamin Marauder 25 cal way before slugs came along . The two drawbacks with slugs is the velocity increase required to stabilize the flight of the slug and a substantially reduced shot count . Is it worth it . It depends on if your using it for target shooting or hunting . If your hunting in the field then it probably will be acceptable . Good to know we have another quality USA made slug manufacturer . ❤

    and do you have any advice on this?

    Is it a standard LW or CZ 12 grooves choked barrel? .2525 was the dimension of the choke?

    • @AirVelocitySport

      Cz barrels. Kalibrgun was using LW the year prior to when I bought mine

      If the barrelmis not labeled only the dealer or someone familiar with LW can tell. My dealer, R And L airgun Supply said it was CZ

    Those are awesome groups I wondered if you found Right size diameter and weight Like you just did and then test Velocities Start at 850fps up to 1000fps To see What speed the slug Likes Maybe there's a sweeter spot for those slugs

    • @AirVelocitySport
      @AirVelocitySport  Před rokem

      Yes, I did some velocity variation till the groups looked good. It's possible that a different gun may like a different velocity and find a harmonic node.

    Hello AVS,
    I am also the proud owner of same gun and cal. My gun, with plenum, is shooting 34 grn JSB at around 925 fps (reg at a135 bar) .
    Is it OK to use the slugs upto 36 grn wt at same Regulator setting ?
    Kindly guide pl.
    Regards from India

    • @AirVelocitySport
      @AirVelocitySport  Před rokem +1

      You may have to up your regulator to 150 bar to get a 36 grain .253 slug to move at 920 fps. I am adding a power plenum to cricket in the next week or so which will add some power to my cricket.

      Dera Sir, I request you for one last reply. In Cricket, unlike modern air rifles, the Reg is not externally adjustable for different weight pellets. So, keeping the Reg at pressure of 150bar certainly will push 34grns JSB Heavies arnd 960-970 fps.
      BUT, IS IT OKK FOR THE INTERNALS OF THE RIFLE TO KEEP IT OPERATING AT 150 BAR REG PRESSURE. O Rings can be replaced, but don't want to compromise on the metallic components.
      Will be greatful for your reply pl.
