  • The updated 2020 Titan now has a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Pro 4x still exists with a locking rear differential. We took it offroad to see what it can do.
    Engine Adventures strives to explore and test the AWD and 4WD systems of all crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. To do this we test vehicles in real world environments in a way that allows viewers to cross shop and explore any vehicle they may be interested in learning about.

      I was in the market for a truck and was planning on getting either the F-150 or the Tundra, but out of nowhere I saw a Red Titan pro and I just felt in love😍 it was definitely worth getting it specially after test driving it compare to the other trucks I tested, you feel like you got the biggest male part driving around in it. Haha, trust me you’ll love it.

      From 2016 it’s basically the same truck in the XD line up. Only real difference is the face of the truck, the rear tail lights, and the center stack in the cabin. The rest of the truck is exactly the same. Save you a couple $$ and get a used one with low miles.

      There are a lot more things to consider than just a standard V8. V8's from all the other truck manufacturers can be had for the same MSRP range as the Titan. If the Titan has and is what you want then it's a great choice, but for many people it doesn't offer what they want.

The 2022 Frontier is a great truck but a Titan has more room, comfort, and oddly enough handles better while getting around the same mpg and it can be had at some dealers for only a few grand more.

      Yes it's a down right shame they are discontinuing it in Canada. We have a new Titan Pro4x XD . Second Titan in 5yrs now. I get a new Truck every 4yrs. Coming from the Other brands over the last several years it's been a relief not constantly going in for repairs. I guess we will also be looking at importing one in 4yrs, because I would never go back to the other big 3. If importing was not an option then possibly a Tundra but I've been down that road before with issues but not big issues like the Ford's,Rams and GM's I've owned

I've already expressed my concerns with my local dealer and he told me not to worry they will do what they can to guide me in the right direction. Would it make a difference if it were lifted 3-6 inches going up that hill?

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  Před 3 lety +2

      Probably not much. Yes it would have had more clearance and if a good suspension system was put in then significantly more wheel travel, but the traction systems would perform the same.

    I just love these new truck off road reviews and they all run crappy tires for off roading

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  Před 2 lety

      These aren't bad tires, they're an AT which k think is great for someone who will be driving on All types of Terrain. 🙃

    • @vinn995
      @vinn995 Před 2 lety

      @@EngineAdventures yeah you’re right, I noticed that they are AT’s too, but the tread pattern for an AT tires is rather weak IMO. I off road quite a bit in rock, mud, and snow. I run BFG AT K2 on my Titan. The BFG’s have a much better aggressive tread pattern and perform excellent. There are a lot of AT tires out there that look almost like regular truck street tires and are not aggressive enough for off roading. Again my opinion is that I think the truck would perform better with a more aggressive AT tire.

      It's absolutely important to have the right tire for the terrain you're in! Thanks for sharing.

    Awesome review but it’s a bit cringy seeing/hearing the wheels spin with a wheel off the ground. Not sure how much of those kind of trips a truck can handle.

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm generally very careful about this. When you see the vehicle hopping, or rolling backwards while the wheels are spinning forward quickly, that's when damage is most likely to occur. While I am a little hard on the vehicles, I take many precautions (like going as slow as possible and getting off the throttle and onto the breaks asap whenever the vehicle bounces or moves backwards when in a forward gear). Think of this as something you only do a few times in your own vehicle to figure out how everything works, and the best driving methods. Once you have that down you'll know best how to care for your vehicle, even in challenging situations.

    Better tires would help

    • @EngineAdventures
      @EngineAdventures  Před 3 lety

      Better tires do make a difference, but the idea of the traction test is to leave 2 diagonal wheels completely without traction and see how the vehicle is able to transfer power to the wheels with traction.

    • @joepaul1814
      @joepaul1814 Před 3 lety +1

      @@EngineAdventures I get that. But better tires would mostly likely produce a different result in the first two test. I get that you are testing the mechanics but you are testing mechanics that were engineered for the normal on road and light off road the truck is designed for. Your test would be the abnormal so to get the most accurate result you would need to outfit the truck for abnormal off road driving. Jeeps are engineered for that, not the daily driving pickup. That’s all I am saying here.

      This hill is a lot steeper than it looks on camera. I've never had a vehicle make it up the entry to the hill in 2wd, much less through the rough sections. That includes some vehicles that can lock the rear differential in 2wd.

    Hey not trying to bother you but I wanted to encourage you. And let you know if you haven’t I invite you to repent and accept the Lord Jesus as your savior. He came on this earth and died to save sinners. Of which I once was but I was set free by the shedding of his precious blood and you can be too. He was resurrected by the the father He’s waiting for you to say yes to him and accept the free gift of salvation. Please take up your cross and walk after him and deny yourself. He will take those sinful habits away (not judging) because I know he did it for me. Just surrender and obey him. He knows what you’re dealing with he created you he created us all. Just be sincere and willing in your prayers to change. And the lord Jesus will do the rest but it’s a lifestyle. He will change you just be obedient.
