- GIVE THE GIFT OF A TFL T-SHIRT! You know the truck and car lovers on your list want one. (www.duckco.com/tfl-store). The 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X is the most off-road worthy of the half-ton's lineup, but how well does it (and other half-ton trucks) actually work in the snow? In this video, Andre puts the Titan up to the test after a recent Colorado snowstorm.

I love the GMC but for reliability I'll take the TITAN
Nothing has an exhaust note like a Nissan. Love it!
I’ve heard this so many times. I’m shopping for a 2021 or newer. I prefer the XD for the added bed and towing but will probably get a regular Titan crew cab pro4x or sv for cost.
I've got a 2021 Pro-4X and put the Nismo sport exhaust on it... it's like listening to joy...
I think Titans are underrated trucks. Switched from f 150 and couldn’t be happier
Keep the winter content coming! I for one appreciate you guys running stock trucks through the snow even without snow tires, because that's what a lot of people will end up doing.
^^^ this. Loving the stock-in-the-snow content.
arthwys
And those people are stupid and dangerous for doing so.
Out of all the gear shifters, column mounted shifter is my favorite.
I'd rather mine be mounted on the floor. And I'd rather it be a mechanical lever than an electric knob.
For a truck yes column, for anything else no! 🙃
@@dennissmith7214 I agree, love the column shifter in my xd Platinum reserve. I like floor shifters, but in a pickup I prefer the column shifter. Everything else I prefer a console shifter.
@@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix 😁🤙🏽
Column shifters are the best, it's great having the action right up there with you. I do like the electronic column shifter too like on teslas and my old 2008 GL450 It's just up or down to change gear but still great to have it up with you by the wheel, quick gear changes.
Just purchased a 2020 Pro4x, I blame TFL 😂
same here !!!!
That color combo scheme, Nissan nailed it
Got a 2020 pro 4x. I love it in our Colorado snow!
Nissan makes a very decent truck. Shame the xd isn't rated to be a true 3/4 ton, and their lack of marketing is their biggest enemy across the board for them . Great series Andre
Thanks Andre! Appreciate all your hard work.
I own a 2019 p4x. I cant say anything good about the stock tires when traction becomes questionable. Glad they are easily replaceable. I added a 3" lift kit with 33" hankook Dynapro MT2 and it transformed the titan into a worth and capable off road vehicle suited for hunting, overland, and back country.
I love these Titan trucks read earlier a recall of engine stalling on the 2020s. I love the color on the PRO-4X see one in my town. Not long ago was thinking of buying a Titan when get ready buy a new vehicle. Titan is so underrated but a great truck never gets credit always left behind in competition.
Informative. This is the real honest reviews we need right now. Eager for part 2 and 3. Send it out now! lol.
Do you know if they have released part two and three yet? I can’t find them
Check out how the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 performs in the same conditions! Here: czcams.com/video/7lOJcJ9JMHA/video.html and the Ford Raptor snow test is here: czcams.com/video/bZeZIzI-d9s/video.html
How about raptor?
I love the Titan......i have an 18 and its nice having a truck that not everybody has. A leveling kit and MTs do these trucks right
I have the same truck. How do you like the leveling kit? Does it effecty the driving or the handling?
@@estarszak I love mine. The leveling kit had no effect that i notice and its been leveled since new
@@jstitan2972 good to hear. I put bigger tires on and they rub so I'll bet the leveling will solve that problem
Got the same as well. I have yet to see another in my area, just a couple old early 2000 titans. I love this truck.
@@schoopinprofit hell yeah
Thank you guys again for putting these trucks in real life situations. It gives us viewers a honest view.
Someone please take off that ridiculous looking tent on the Raptor!🤣🤣
@@alexmitchell2018 🤣
Looks like a covered wagon on the Oregon trail lol
Especially on the Raptor..ugh! Now on the that long term 2000 (?) Toyota Tacoma it would be perfect.
When the people at FoMoCo see that; they may say no 2021 or 2022 Raptor for TFL!
General Grabber ATPs are 3 snowflake mountain peak rated. The snowflake is on the Blackwall side. I was pricing Kanati Trail Hogs which are 3 peak rated. But the interesting facts are the General ATPs in 275/70/18 are 41lbs each. Can find another 3 peak tire lower then 55lbs each and those are the Kanati THs.
Great test - thanks
You guys have said multiple times the p4x does not have a lift. It does get a 1 inch lift vs all other trims. Just an fyi.
True. I have a PRO-4X and my parents have an SV. You could tell the difference. Its the suspension set up that gives it a slight ride height
Double-checking this: the Titan PRO-4X has a small 0.5 inch front lift , but also a slightly larger 33.2-inch tires. It sits a bit higher than other Titans. -Andre.
Great Job Andre ...
Only as good as its tires
Just like any tired vehicle in the snow
Nissan sounds great. Great video Andre.
That Titan truck is awesome! I think it did great!!!
Well CZcams works now
I thought my internet was dead
As my mom would say we should be in bed. It’s not even 8am where I’m at
For a while I was trying to figure out if youtube was down or if I had for some reason gotten kicked off.
Rumble rumble
@@LessTrustMoreTruth Hopefully Rumble will keep growing and uphold their free speech promise. It would be nice if TFL would also post to Rumble.
I take the Titan!!
Good review.
Great content! Those tires are hockey pucks in the winter. I have Hankook Dynapro AT's on my 04' Ranger, and they are not good here in the winter. Can't beat having good snow tires during the winter season.
2020 Titan pro4x comes with a 33's stock you gotta do the math:) 275/70R18 = 33.2x10.8R18
To answer the question , it all depends on using the correct tires that are built for these weather conditions.
6:21 My dad was driving his 2018 Titan Pro-4X and had a similar problem on mud. The General Grabbers are great tires on road and mixed driving, just not really built for the harsher off-road driving down in southern West Virginia.
"Hey guy's I have something very special for you ".....my hat
Mine has done very well, all stock!
I nought a 2021 pro4x n luv the fact that I don't seem them all over . Ford chey dodge all day long .may see a titan here n there but rarely a pro4x. Luv my truck. Great review thank you
👍👍👍 good info thank you.
Andre , good report
In general, I like your materials. As to this one, I'll add to the tires matter comments. Testing anything in the snow without dedicated snow tires is a waste of time. Anyone who seriously drives in the snow has the right tires. Those who fumble through on all-seasons don't really need to get anywhere.
These are not all seasons. And these tires are in fact offered with the Severe snow 3PMSF. Many people will use A/T tires with this certification instead of snow tires because they can be used year round. I would not agree that its a waste of time.
I love the songs that show up on the radio lol
Love the video hes the best 👈🏿👈🏿
I own a 2017 Titan SV 4x4 leveled with 20in section 8 and bfg/ko2's. I've bought Nissan 4x4 trucks since 1989 to 2017.
Always run bfg/ko2's on them.
Andre: These tyres are not meant for this, they are not snow rated.
Also Andre: Let me back up and come towards you.
Cameraman: 👀
I like how the Sirius radio was tuned to Ozzy’s boneyard. Love the boneyard, and love my new titan.
Interesting to see how this does with the stock tires. Of course if someone had to deal with severe weather on a regular basis they would get better tires, but it is nice to see how it does with what comes on it from the factory. Would be interesting to see the difference a good snow tire makes. Maybe part 2 or 3 will be part of that.
Great info! This is why it was sketchy for me when I was in the snow in my pro4x tires not that great! 👍🏼
Thanks buddy
man that's a nice sounding truck.
Andre you have to hold down the traction control off button for 3 sec to completely disable it...you will hear a chime and the screen will tell you it is off
Just here to brag about my new 2021 titan pro 4x in Baja! Good truck and good warranty. Wanted a trd pro tundra but hard to find nowadays but titan come with all the goodies.
I like this truck.. they have some great discounts on them too
Yep, all seasons will get you going in the snow wothout too much difficulty but will really struggle to get you stopped, especially on a heavy vehicle like a pickup. Unfortunately a lot of pickup owners believe an all season all terrain tire is fine in the winter and don't switch to a winter tire even though there are plenty on the market for light trucks.
Are you testing the Truck or Tires??
got a 17 pro4x 119k miles. switched to duratracs at 80k, big diffrence in all weather performance. only downside tires are definitely louder.
That Titan is real nice
Andre does the best with the titan, doesnt seem as biased...
We bought our 19P4X with Nitto terra grappler G2s.... run in 2wd most of the winter, very satisfied with truck and the tires.. probably more aggressive than the stock tires, previous owner made a good swap in my eyes.
Seeing Andre outfit got me like, watching "Journey to the West" in 2021.😂
I’ve got the general grabber ATX E load rated tires on my F150 and they are incredible in the snow. They should have put the more aggressive tread on the Nissan. The ATX are still impressively quiet on road even with the aggressive tread.
Yall uploaded this at the wrong time😂
General makes another grabber called the ATX that is much better offroad and does have a 3 peak mountain snowflake on it. I have the AT2's which are identical except for having weaker sidewalls, so I can personally vouch for the snow performance of the ATX (AT2) as they are the best non dedicated snow tire you can probably buy. The APT is a more of a dirt/gravel road tire with highway fuel economy in mind (its probably the better tire for daily driving though which is why I'm not surprised its what comes on the truck, but you can easily swap em out)
While I would never trade my Raptor for a Pro 4x, I have to admit the new design does get my attention. It’s a shame more people don’t consider these trucks. If I wasn’t after the off-road cred of the Raptor, I would definitely be cross shopping various brands, inc, using the Nissan Titan.
I love my Nissan Titan Pro4x.
I'd like to hear about the Falken Wildpeak snow performance.
I'm not sure the reasoning behind this video. Would rather see an Ike run or the truck towing with a full payload doing a 66 mile loop in the rain/snow.
I love my 23' pro4x. Baja storm is a head turner of a color. As far as the tires, they are as named. They are supposed to be multi-purpose not all terrain. They will suffice weather and terrain conditions with longevity in mind. If you get beefier off road tires you'll sacrifice mileage/life. It just depends what you do and you can change it to such.
really cool that there's a really good car/truck channel based out of the same place I live!
Bro thats such a nice truck my dad has that truck same color and everything 😂😂
Shapka-ushanka looks very nice
ive always been a Toyota guy but this seems to be a better buy in my opinion nicer interior and looks better just as good on dependability
Andre that hat. So funny🤣👍
According to General the Grabber APT is severe winter rated and carries the 3PMSF rating. Andre is says the tires dont carry that designation. So I wonder what the disconnect is on that?
Andre you should have put dedicated snow tires on this truck before testing this beast in the snow.
The titan with a 2" leveling kit and better, larger tires would be awesome.
I have a 2'1/2 leveling kit and makes a huge difference (non 4x4).
I was going to comment the same thing...level kit + bigger tires (33s) and that Titan would look great!
That red against the snowy back drop stands out too!
The Nissan V8 has the best engine/exhaust sound too.
@@billymc2681 considering the titan pro4x comes with 33s it just needs a better tire! 275/70R18 = 33.2x10.8R18
Rich
Leveling kits are dumb. Only city boys use them on their pavement queens [trucks]. J/k
Hey Looking at getting a 2017 Nissan Titian PRO-4X with 18,000 miles are they reliable?
As much as I enjoy the Titan. Honestly my next rig will be a true 3/4ton. But a used titan is one hell of a deal. Let someone buy it used for 2/3 the new price with 20k on the clock.
So if you take 400 hp and 413 torque and floor it, the tires will spin in snow and ice. Doesn't say much about the truck, but I'm sure somehow the big 3 trucks will peel out in snow better
Sorry Andre you are wrong on the general grabbers apt tires . It is winter approved, it does have the mountain peak and snow flake on it. I know cause I have it on my truck.
Let you know the symbol is right beside the tire measurement on the right side of the numbers
Need a front center seat for my dog in the pro 4x.
That's the biggest diffrence with snow tyres , they just work on braking on snow and ice :)
Does the new titan have advanced track?
Titan's are great value and should be fairly reliable. Can get a pretty much fully loaded one for about 52k with 9-10k off msrp easy. Shame Nissan as a company has gone down the toilet though -- makes me hesitant to actually consider buying one.
Not sure I get the point of these videos. Asking the vehicle to do something it’s not designed to do. None of the trucks features matter without the right tires.
I'm not sure about the point of this video in particular. The 2021 Titan is the same as the 2020, which is barely updated from the 2019. Mechanically it's the same engine just tuned for 10 HP and 19 LB-FT of torque more than the 2019 model. It has the 9-speed auto instead of the 7-speed, but the tires and suspension are the same. And the 2019 was barely changed from the 2016 that TFL used to have.
My 2019 Titan Pro-4X does fine in the snow, it gets the job done, but it's definitely a place where the Grabbers fall short, which is a consensus you'll see all over the place. I wouldn't go up in the backcountry during the winter even with better tires, so they do perfectly on the snow and ice conditions we get in Denver.
Then again, I like their videos in the snow, so I still watched it.
Seems pretty clear at 0:47 that the series is a comparison of truck tires.
Well, for most folks chances are that they are going to end up over snowy roads with the stock tires, so it does make sense, since you can get a pretty good idea of what you can do
The point of these videos is to show how poorly all season all terrain tires perform during winter because a lot of people think they'll perform well.
My point is that they've already tested the 2016 Titan with the same tires in the snow, so this video brings nothing new to the table. It's better quality, and shows it on a road, but it's also showing flooring it and slamming on the breaks, not something people typically do in the snow. Here's the video of them testing the 2016 in the snow:
czcams.com/video/-XroRviB140/video.html
Had a small question if you guys had to choose between this and the Armada which would you go for? Essentially I am torn between the 2 for a small family xD
And yes I did consider other types of vehicles but i lve them bigboys on the road haha
Andre, the new nissan titan touch screen is similar to ram 1500 touch screen.
For the price with similar goodies vs other trucks crazy prices 😜. Nissan is way to go. Imo
Now thats a bad hat! Remind me the one used by the assassin of the movie Fargo.
I never got to see , the 2021 Ford Rapture snow test
Do midsize pickups in the snow
If you guys haven’t done it... 4wd vs 4wd auto in the snow
This under dog is pretty good.
I see the Titan, you get a like haha. It your not testing the truck with TC off. Seems the TC would help you in the snow.
Like the hat 💂🏼♀️
Love the hat
The ABS on my Frontier would do the exact same thing on snow or ice.
ABLS for the W
what is your guys intro song
Is that a Ford dashboard?
Андрей, а какой смысл тестировать в снегу по сути на летней резине. Ну и к слову почему разгоняется нормально, а тормозит плохо. Разгоняется то и гребёт 4 колесами, а тормозит только двумя :) а Титан мне очень нравится :)
What exactly is the point of buying snow and mud tires if it’s not good in the snow and mud?
No Tundra??
Has this truck done the Ike yet?
It's the Flying Nun !!!! Err....Flying Andre !
