- Somehow, we ended up driving Rex Harrisons Rolls Royce, and Audrey Hepburn used to roll around in it. This 1976 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was a real treat to drive.

You have a frame off restoration garage yet? You may need to fabricate parts for that Rolls Royce......
Buy a Ford Pinto Wagon with the wood panels
Finally, Winston got a car to match his suit
ha ha ha good one!
This is perfect, Winston drives and you sit in the back seat. Winston dresses like a chauffeur and has the perfect name
Driving Ms. Milk
@@BlackHawkBallistic
Pass the Gray Poupon Sir Winston
Yeah you right.great comment
Sir Winston... 🤣🤣🤣
Glad to see another episode boys. And what a killer car to show off.
I can just picture you both taking it in turns to drive whilst the other sits in the back seat. "Okay, now I'm the king and you be the chauffeur. Tee hee."
A little road head
@@gxlorp all your comments are hate comments, you just come off as extremely jealous and immature 😂.
Winston in a suit driving this just feels right.
A Rolls is that girl that "there's just something about".
Thank you Winston, that'll be all. 😄
Yes finally a new videos from worthless whips😊😊👌
It helps that, at least when Winston was driving, he looked like he could be a chauffeur with his suit and sunglasses.
Sweet Laguna Beach.
Friend had the exact same model, so comfy! Cheap to buy, but will bankrupt you if the mineral oil system goes up the creek!
Not sure about that exhaust note though, that sounds a bit loud for a legit exhaust.
Mineral oil system?! I'd be interested in learning more about that. Do you mean regular engone oil, or is it something special for RR's?
@@Jayce1701 oh no, it's a whole different system, runs the power steering, brakes and suspension... Has its own pump. it's basically a hydraulics system. A 40 year old hydraulic system...
Not something your back street garage can handle.
It's a great system when it works, and back when it was made, it worked, but all the seals and parts are getting old and tired by now.
I don't think I can share links in commends, so just google for Rolls Royce Silver Shadow hydraulic system, there are diagrams. So many little parts, with seals that can leak, and several big parts which are RR only £££
Citroen also played with hydraulics over the years, ownership of their old cars is also a story of sudden puddles on the driveway, and cars slowly sinking to the ground.
@@juststeve5542 Uf..yeah.. I've seen a restore of that system... or... patching of it... Difficulty in obtaining parts ... time to obtain them... fiddly adjustments, etc... I'll stick to my own insanity in the Jaguar world.
I does not run on a mineral oil braking and hydraulic system, it runs on RR 363 hich is basically a DOT 3 brake fluid with castor oil to lubricate the two hydraulic brake pumps.
@@RRudolf88 sorry, my mistake, other models (Corniche) use LHM mineral oil, hence my error.
It's still a money pit when it starts to leak though!
Had one of these once had a 383 in it was just as clean
I think lots of owners swapped in US V8's after the original engine died.
Same thing was done with Jag V12's.
US V8's were cheap, more reliable and part availability was much better.
British luxury at its finest.
A couple minutes in, I'm thinking, "Hmm. These guys really don't need my sponsorship on their other channels if they can afford a Rolls Royce." Then, that most important word, changed everything. The car, was "borrowed." OK, guys, you're safe for now. A very out-of-the-ordinary and "entertaining" video. Keep on, keeping it fresh, guys.
When I was a teenager, my buddy and I pulled up and past a red Rolls Royce in a beat up 1970 Fort LTD convertible on the 405 freeway I think.
The RR had a crumpled rear quarterpanel. As we passed it, for some reason I pointed at the quarterpanel and I started laughing.
My buddy, driving looked over and started laughing. Then we totally cracked up and were bawling at this guy's car.
He noticed us, face turned beet red, got super mad and floored it!
Honestly didn't mean to insult the guy but then...
suddenly...
we laughed even harder! Inexplicable. Poor guy.
You guys are always filming these near my mom's house in Laguna. Would you please visit her so I don't have to? Beautiful Silver Shadow!
I'm sure a visit from you would be so much more meaningful. Your Mum is your only Mum in the world after all.
Why would you not want to visit your own mother? I live going to see my mum. She brought me into the world…
WE NEED MORE WORTHLESS WHIPS BOIS!
Sweet ride! Back in those days Rolls-Royce never published power figures. They would just describe it as 'adequate' or 'sufficient' .
These cars are truely hand built. Painted to the highest standards, they have connoly leather made of un scarred cow hides and the real wallnut wood trim is mirrored left to right. Wonderful car from a bygone era when nobody cared about gas prices or emissions.
If you like this kind of road presence, luxury and British style but you want more modern try a Jaguar XJ-V8 or Daimler SuperV8. The X308 models. They are very much affordable and a classy ride.
But it's not adequate at all its slow c milk is saying
Their still hand built to this day, hence no Two Royce Are the same. Each one is unique in its own way. Just to hand build the grill on the front that is totally fabricated by hand takes hundreds of man hours and will be be built by one individual start to finish.
Been waiting for you guys to drop a video!
holy shit i cant wait to see more about this
Beautiful! Wonderful! Very talented work!
Certified Gold!!!!!
I love classic luxury cars. I always assumed the reason they are seen so rarely despite being cheap to buy is that they are very expensive to maintain. A little while ago I saw someone delivering Domino's in a white 80s S-Class and thought that was awesome.
Yes that’s the thing with classic Rolls Royce. They don’t go wrong much as their so well built and engineered but if they go wrong expect a hefty bill, especially as they require specially trained mechanics and technicians to repair them. Then there’s the ever increasing spare parts that cost a absolute fortune.
Finally ! I was worried you guys have gave up on the channel ! I can’t wait for more episodes
Love the classy French piano music that accompanied the video
YES! New upload!
A car of spectacular opulence..
Amazing video, I love the tone and cinematic shots. You can see the boys have been improving on the quality.
Super cool ! The interior details are incredible!!!
Fun episode - thank you ❤️ Audrey Hepburn

Laguna Beach! Irvine?
You blokes are in my backyard!
Yep the 133 clear as day!
Hey guys! Welcome back. You dont fool around slick find, look forward to your reviews, especially the ride.
Ms Hepburn was the first person responsible for teaching me just how beautiful a grown woman could be! Man... did I have a crush on her!
Beautiful color combo, love the Red Leather. Got to drive a friend's dad's RR back in 1984. We drove it to the local private golf course, so he could pick up his check for working at the club. But we pulled right up in front like we owned the place, and we're giving the staff of the club some good natured ribbing, while not admitting is wasn't ours... Anyways, I played golf at that same club a few days later, and we got paired up with theses two older executive guys, I was 17 but looked 25 probably. We get to the tee and their totally polite to us, letting us tee off first, calling us Sir, I was like WTH?? But then they said they had seen us a few days earlier in the Rolls. They thought we were established members! Like treated us completely different just because of that car. When the round was over, they were loading their clubs into some nice BMW & Mercedes, I was loading mine into my 76 Cutlass.. LOL.
Oh guys come on, you MUST wear gloves when you drive these things. 🤣 Looks very good. Does that have a 6750 cc engine ? Looking forward to the next video about it.
He said it in the video. "6 and 3/4 V8"
2:36 When you get inside this car the leather... it's... oh there's a man in a business suit. Oh wait, it's just Winston
I loved the Rolls! It's timeless. It will always be beautiful.
Wow not what I would of expected. And it looks very clean.
Gotta laugh at how Winston fits the chauffeur role perfectly. Get him some gloves and your in business.
Now who's the real winner though? The one who gets to drive the Royce, of being driven by the Royce?
Fantastic! Wooo!
Finally a new video.
FINALLY!!!
About the speed or lack of it. My theory is that these cars were designed for people who were never in a hurry to get anywhere. What do other people think?
A RR dealer in the 80’s once told me that the kind of man who buys a rolls doesn’t care about speed because they only ever use it for local trips. If they have to go further than an hour away, they take the chopper
🚁
The kind of car a villain in a episode of "Columbo" would drive, hehe.
Brilliant.
Where the hell have you guys been??!! Updates, Updates!!
I loved Red Harrison!!!!
Now you're talking!!!! 👍
This channel concept is a good idea. You should also review the origins of Subaru WRX/STI.
great vid! u need to upload more often ^^
I can't recall if you guy's talked about this channel on your main account's, but I really hope that you guy's will post more on here soon. This channel has a ton of potential.
Stay awesome guy's! 🤙
You guys do a great job selecting interesting cars!
Most badass worthless whip lol. Classy
Awesome!
Love all of your channels!! Keep ‘em coming!
(Btw, I couldn’t help but notice the roll through that stop sign--lol… they call it a “california roll” when do that here since it’s not uncommon, but it can still attract a ticket…😉)
C-Milk, fire your chauffeur. He ignores STOP signs.
That was a fun roll around the park. Happy Trails
Sooooo Smoooth boys lol...
I own a mk2 shadow and can confirm everything said
My brother had a friend (maybe still does) back in the 70's that worked in a shop that repaired these things. Lots of special problems owning a Rolls. Cast skins, not sheet metal, lots of non-Rolls manufactured parts (like I seem to remember them talking about one with a Saginaw steering gear), and custom stuff all over them. I heard that sometimes if the repair seemed to be too expensive and/or was estimated to take a long time to complete, the (rich) customer would just sign the car over to the shop or mechanic for zero so, yeah, I believe they can be cheap! The friend went on to run an engine rebuilding plant in southern California for a major American car manufacturer.
My Grandfather used to joke about having a Rolls Canardley. It rolls down one hill and can 'ardly get up the next! They were not known for high performance back then.
That’s a real beauty
Ah you got (to borrow) a very famous Rolls Royce
Brilliant! I say, could we see more? (Slick! Let's see more!)
What you don't pay upfront you for in maintenance with these cars. So expensive to maintain its crazy.
Damn!!! The history in that car.!!. Winston should have sat in the back, lol Absolutely awesome!!😎💞
PS: Audrey Hepburn played the lead female role (Julie Andrews part), in the MY FAIR LADY movie, much to Rex' dismay.
Except this car is a 1976 model and My Fair Lady came out in 1964.
@@caulkins69 Thank you..
I know Rex was a notorious womanizer, but I also know that he & Audrey were NOT the best of friends making the movie, despite what some articles say..
Julie was much more suited to the role & Walt Disney even said he would wait to do Mary Poppins if she wanted to do My Fair Lady. Julie was a real class act tho & liked Audrey & despite the fact that all the singing was dubbed (which Audrey wasn't aware of til very late in the picture), Audrey did the picture & Julie won the Academy Award for Poppins & thanked Jack Warner at the end of her speech (for NOT giving her the role!!)
@@borninthewrongtime6449 sexy Rexy.
@@andyjarman4958 He thought so..lol 😂
I have the same car. No longer slow because I put a Cummins diesel in it.
Remember 1 car built for people with a chauffeur that pulled daily PM - (and no problem shelling out tons of $ for parts.). Also Bentley is to drive RR to be driven in . GRIN
Smooth as glass so nice to see a Luxury car emphasizing Luxuriousness, over race car performance and the stupid hip hugging seats
sweet car guys !
Such a cool car😃
A dualie pickup truck from today weighs considerably more than 4700 pounds. Usually north of 8000 specially if it is a diesel as most of them aare
great video keep em coming I like all your videos I watched most of your videos probably twice

I like everything you do

Dr. Dolittle!
Wow, amazing history. Audrey Hepburn was an absolute legend of Hollywood.
I am surprised it didn’t break down, how many times did you have to stop to get gas?
Gorgeous cars,I owned one for several years 👏 👌
Woohoo another video. Where have you guys been hiding
Looks like there's a lot of play in that steering wheel.
Is perfect, makes sense since it was driven by a classic actor :P
I loved Rex as Abraham Lincoln.
very nice :)
Yo back!!
That car is a statement, it's up for the viewer to decide what it states, but it does.
🙄
Nice touch with the Erik Satie.
What a looker.
Hi, you had me right up to the time when you said “we borrowed this car”! I don’t give a s…t what so called famous person owned previously. The way a car drives has nothing to do with famous people and how they maintained it. My grandfather use to say that the best things in owning a Rolls Royce was that it came with a RR trained chauffeur and should you have any problems with the vehicle when touring in Europe, the company would fly out a mechanic to fix the problem. Yea, I know that was in the old days prior to WW1, but a good comparison to how highly these vehicles were thought of in Europe. Cheers mate. Harera
nice 🔥
I think you hit the nail other head with your statement about going slow is the whole point of a Rolls Royce. I you go slow so everyone gets a good look at who's inside. I had the chance to drive a 1978 silver spur. For about four weeks. Other than the fuel costs given it got about fourteen mpg on premium fuel. The "but" was the fact it was a RR. Like you described, I was the interior of the car was a rolling humidor. The smell of the leather, the polish on the wood. The the carpets. The only caviot was I couldn't wear my street shoes on the carpet. So I went shoeless. Constantly rubbing my feet back and forth on the lambs wool carpet. I and picking of women.... Yeah I had one or two in the back seat. Especially after I put the carpet on the seat. One girl really got off on the lambs wool on her bare ass, but but I've said too much already...
Wow! Great pickup. Keep the mineral water topped up.
Very nice car indeed gentlemen ☺️👍
Good to see you, Jessie.
I think you were given a story about that car. Audrey Hepburn was pretty much at the end of her career by 1978 so I’m not sure how Rex Harrison could’ve been driving her around to help her prepare for a roll. They were in My Fair Lady together which is literally about a guy helping someone lose their accent but that film came out in 1964.
Like driving round with the Parthenon on your hood.
You finally pronounced "important" right👍👍👍
More more
Jesus Christ it's beautiful
Glad to see you guys are getting some rest from keeping us up to date on the evils of the CCP & enjoying some of the finest things in life.
Love it!
Yes, was never made for 0-60 times, not what a RR is all about.
So awesome to see you guys have such an awesome friendship & passion.
Stay safe & keep up the fight against the CCP but get some rest too hey.

A Silver Shadow can reach 191 km/h, so more than 115 mph - if everything works as it should. I would not call this "the slowest car I have ever driven". I have driven in Shadows recently at a speed of 95 mph. Being a classic car, I would not haste it too much though.
