    When you said it had play, I knew then it needed to be replaced.

    It is funny that this popped up on here because I was just working on my lower unit for it grinding when I put it in reverse and only moving at slow speed. Grinding at high speed. Next I get to take the lower unit off to check where these two little ball bearings came from lol

    So is there anything they could have done to avoid this? Would like a boat one day and would like to avoid costly repairs if at all possible

    Just out curiosity, the WD40 was for drilling or to soak everything else down there! Because the nut is a soft metal that won't destroy a drill bit! At least in Suzukis!

    I’m glad to see your gear lube is a bit milky. My 2023 300r was milky at 50 hours.

      @michaelm1573 Před rokem +1

      I hope you're joking because milkiness comes from their being water contamination. Make sure that your little gaskets on the lower unit screws are intact. I would be a little worried if I were you

      You can literally see a big ass gash in the lower unit housing where the bearing grinded against it. Unless you want it to crack, fill up with water, and self destruct the answer is no.
