    I have a smaller Snap-on chest but also have my shop full of pretty much the same stuff you have. I have been working on outboards since 1969. I thought that I had retired, but many people have found me. So it is back to work for me. I guess they will find me one day by a outboard and not moving anymore and that is when I will stop ! But for now it is time to get back to work. Enjoy your video's each week.

    Being a Marine technician, you always feel after a job.. Oooh I wish I had that tool... Once you have it.. In next new job.. You feel ooh I should have had that tool too.. In India.. It's tough to get special Marine tools.. We make or modify most car tools available here.
    I manage to buy my first set of Knipex cobra n spanner plier after 18 years of field work.. Thanks to major tool brands available here now

    Since retiring i have gone though my tool collection and got rid of things i had 3 or 4 of, sockets wrenches and small stuff. I keep a small carry bag for electrical work and travel tools. A while back i bought a pair of lineman's pliers made in Germany. They are pretty much art for the tool box.They are kinda expensive and being retired i don't need to wreck them doing BS work for neighbor , I didn't want to lose my Klein's after having them my whole life. I eventually settled for a pair of Doyals from Harbor Freight. The Doyals are a little hard on the hands. they have sharp corners and edges that keep catching on your skin. A 1 inch air wrench with a reducer so i can use half inch sockets to remove crankshaft bolts from Honda Pilots. 800 foot pounds of torque really. I will never use that tool again.. Building a wooden boat these days. Looking for an outboard!

    Great tour and setup! What are your thoughts regarding rust? I noticed that you have many tools that have a good layer of surface rust. I assume that is the bi-product of working as a marine mechanic/technician. Have you ever considered apply a layer of protection to your tool? Have you heard of Penetrol? It works great at preventing rust/scale, and I would love to see how it would hold up in your environment.

    I have a project boat and I’m about to start with the electric part, should i follow the wire color code or i can simply use a red wire for + and a black wire for - and maybe label them just to know which one is what in case any repairs appear in the future?
    Thank you again

      I just finished wiring our 20ft 1988 Pro-line. Pulled 100% of the old wiring out. Installed a switch and pulled #8 from the aft battery compartment to the CC. Pos and neg bus bars in console. New LED switch panel. Came out awesome. Don't cheap out! Use marine wire, heat shrink connectors, fuse everything and don't let wires hang by the connector. I personally used yellow for neg for everything in or leaving the console. Could say more but getting little long

    • @airsoftdudechannel6180
      @airsoftdudechannel6180 Před 2 lety

      @@bobbell5928 yeah definitely I’ll be using marine cable and the water proof connector, my idea is to use # 8 from the battery to the bus bar , then # 10 to the fuse box and # 14 to every single pumps light …., the reason i wanted to buy just two color of cable is because the marine supply near me sold them in 100ft rolls, i don’t need so many ft in dark blue for my cabin lights or brown for my pumps, but there is any Law or requirements forcing to use different colors ?
      Thank you for reply

    • @bobbell5928
      @bobbell5928 Před 2 lety +1

      @@airsoftdudechannel6180 No law only standards. I bought my wire in marine supply stores and some online. Bought 50ft of #14 red and ran out. Colors just help to sort things out. My console is just fiberglass so I put 3/4 inch starboard where I wanted to mount the bus bars and route the wires. Used 5200 to attach the starboard. Good luck

I would put them for sale on the youtube channel cheap. If you don't need.& your not going to ever use them yourself on anything. Why not make A few extra dollars on them for something else instead right.,or do some trading maybe to for them. For some other type of parts you may need also.
