Received my PB1000 Pro last week. LPF from my receiver set to 120hz, with KEF Q150s as fronts. Watched Jurassic Park, and my neighbors 3 houses down felt the dinosaurs walking. This is a beast!

I own a PB 1000, and a PB 1000 pro. I believe they work great together. Perfect for my 5.2 surroundsound setup. ✌🏼❗️
I started off with a Klipsch 10"...the cheapest model they had, then I upgraded to an SVS PB1000 and the difference was noticeable. It sounded cleaner to me and just seemed to fill up the room better. I was so impressed I upgraded again to a PB3000, and OMG! That sub is nuts and will be getting a second one to go with it. I wanted to try out Rythmik and PSB, but they didn't offer free returns, and the only other brand I considered was Rel but just decided to go with SVS because of the app. I also have their Ultra Center, and Ultra bookshelves for the front stage, and so far running it on a cheap hand-me-down Onkyo NR636 has me amazed! I will upgrade my A/V receiver later on, but that's what I have to work with so far but it still sounds awesome! There is a scene in the movie Oblivion where Tom Cruse is being pulled out of a building and the cable snaps while he's nearing the top...OMG the PB3000 makes that sound just amazing! Also the Ready player one move, the 1st race...I play that to demo to friends and family and myself just to remind me of just how good it sounds, just simply amazing to me.
It’s rare that someone else comments on demo movie scenes, so thanks for doing that! 😀 I def need to check out the more expensive SVS subs and Ultra speakers. Someday!!!
Which Klipsch 10" did you have? I currently have 2x Klipsch R-100SW and I am thinking about getting the SVS PB-1000
Or maybe the PB-1000 Pro, however these are about twice as expensive...

The Klipsch might be sounding louder than the SVS because lesser subs often have a hill shaped response: a TON of bass around 60 Hz. The SVS is playing flat down to 20 Hz. That kind of bass might feel less at the beginning, but is so much cleaner and nicer to listen to.
Bought a Svs PB1000 pro coupled with old 8" subwoofer. I totally agree with your statement. SVS play down low, cleaner and doesn't sound so punchy as the smaller sub. But combining both sub. Can get the best of 2 world IMO.
Not having REW measurements, it could happen tat in the MLP you have a huge null in the 50-70hz frecuencies.
Maybe it's not the speaker size.
Bigger driver needs more powerful amp, and that's the case between the klipsch and the svs, I would bet that the svs driver is faster than the klipsch.
It could be a null in you listening position, or the klipsch has a huge peak at that frecuencies.
I opted for two of the SVS Ultra PB16 subs and absolutely love it. With a 19x34 family room, it seems to be just right. I don't know if it gets better than this. Action movies are epic. I've had friends try to convince me I need seat rockers for bass but I already feel my seats rocking from these speakers. The frequency response is truly amazing and balances well with the rest of my Ultra speakers. At some point, I will upgrade to a better RLC speaker setup. For now, we are very happy.
This gave me the idea of using a SVS PB-1000 Pro and a Klipsch SPL-120. I was planning on getting a second SPL-120 but went with the PB-1000 instead and I love the combo.

I ran a 90 foot quad shield coax for cable TV and put compression RCA’s on each end. My equipment is out in my garage. No hum, crazy cheap and simple. Works like an absolute champ for my sub. I think all in I spent about $30. Just something to consider. Great review!

I can simply confirm that using coax quadshield is the way to go. I've done the same and on top this is my job to do data/electrical/security work, and people forget that coax cable still remain one of the best on the market!

Thank you for the lesson. I have a SB1000 and it took me two weeks to figure out.I almost called SVS saying that the sub did not work because I unhooked my Velodyne and it was not hook up to the receiver at all. The one reason was the receiver did not recognize the sub. Once I figured that out I watch Gods of Egypt last night. I had to turn it down. DTS-X was awesome

I enjoyed the overview of the SVS PB1000 PRO. I'm driving all SVS speakers from the pinnacle prime series. Dolby Atmos height speakers through a Denon AVR-S750H 7.2 channel system. I purchased the SVS PB1000 single port first and it sounded absolutely phenomenal in my 23'×25' theater room. I purchased the SVS PB1000 pro dual port about 3 weeks later. The Soundpath or soundpath tri bluetooth units that tether the two seamlessly are reliable and work fantastic. Having my SVS PB1000 single port in the back corner of the room. And the PB1000 pro dual port in the front. I couldn't believe how incredible it would sound all together. Earth moving subterranean effects, solid, warm and and blends so very well. SVS sound the absolute best subwoofers and speakers that I have ever heard or owned. All of my SVS speakers, cables, ultrasound speaker wire is all genuine from the SVS sound site. I have never been so pleased with the outcome of a complete rebuild of my speakers until I used SVS.
Customer service is in your corner. Even if you think it's maybe not so important to ask. Always ask questions from any of the incredible people who are there for your assistance. Kind, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about everything. As well as. If you're not aware that ordering directly from SVS sound. Earns subscribed members sound points. Great perk for getting a little something for purchases
I have one of the original PB 1000-
"10 inch single port. When I saw the PB 1000 pro, I instantly knew I needed one for my system. I am so happy, the two subs work hand-in-hand in my 5.2 surroundsound system. The sound with music is insane, but it is the sound with movies and blows my mind. Absolutely never go to a movie theater again. I now have the home theater of my dreams here at home🥰❗️. ( got my 1000 pro right before the price increase 🤣 )

As another owner of SVS and Klipsh, I agree with your conclusion. The SVS is a ninja, you would not know where it was placed. The Klipsh is loud but certainly directional. I love them both. Honorable mention to the Polk 505... it will not die!

Slope does not control how quickly but at what ratio the filter works. Set to 6 dB the filter curve is much smoother, so frequencies beyond the desired cut-off will be audible for at least another octave. Slope set to 24 dB will drastically reduce levels of frequencies beyond threshold almost exactly where you set your filter. Great review though.
Subwoofer placement can make a big difference. The wireless kit gets really useful in allowing to find what that best place is. P.S. Was expecting some graphics to go with it that big BUT :p

I know this is subjective and depended on room. But typically, on an sb 2000, where do people “typically” have the volume set on the app for the sub for movies? -15, -10, -5 etc? Where would you place it in your own room? Curious. Thanks n
When comparing the two, you really need to place them in the exact same spot to get a true comparison. Otherwise you may be experiencing nulls from one, or peaks from the other etc...
exactly.. womp womp and thoom thoom could be result of that... very unlikely would be klipsh basic sub comparable.. even more expensive subs from klipsh are not in a league with SVS.

How did you connect your klipsch to your receiver along with the SVS? Does your AVR have 2 subwoofer preouts or did you daisy chain the two subs together? My current Sony speaker setup is the latter with the two subs daisy chained off my old Pioneer 7.1 AVR. I’m about to ‘upgrade’ from Sony towers and subs to Klipsch RP-400 satellite speakers with a PB-1000 Pro and am wondering if I’m gonna be loosing some tight mid-bass and thinking about about getting a small 8-inch sub to fill in the gap. The AVR won’t be replaced for a while.
Yeah, I had 2 subwoofer preouts. One way to get a little bit tighter bass even with the PB-1000 Pro is seal those ports. SVS sells port fillers, so it's kind of the best of both worlds in one, being able to have it ported or sealed to your liking. But no harm in continuing to daisy chain subs like you have in the past if you're gonna stick with your Pioneer and get a smaller sub to help with your bass extension. 👍

Yeah I’ve spent a lot of money this past week after my wife fell in love with this big fancy-shmancy dark wood entertainment center and gave me the green light to upgrade my 12 year old setup but with smaller speakers to fit with it. Gonna have to recover a little bit before upgrading the receiver. I ordered the PB-1000 Pro used-like new so I’m hoping it comes with the plugs for music or if I like movies with it sealed. The SVS is replacing two 180 watt Sony 12 inch subs on each side of the couch. I’ll finally have a real sub in my house. I have heard the SB 16 ultra at Crutchfield showroom but didn’t really get a chance to crank it.

I have a pair of SVS SB-16 Ultra subwoofers. When playing music the BASS is fast, articulate and punchy like STANLEY CLARKE and LINDA MAY HAN OH. Action movies produce low BASS with VISCERAL impact, PTOOM like "EDGE OF TOMORROW" and "SAVING PRIVATE RYAN".
Man your videos are seriously good. Your editing style is so engaging and just overall awesome vibes. I also have the pb 2000 pro and I think it has plenty of slam prob due to the more powerful amp and beefier driver. I was watching the 100 on Netflix a few days ago and there was once scene prob around 30 hz and it was shaking the ac vents in my basement. I feel in most cases with SVS subs each setup up just offers more output sub 20 hz. My 2000 Pro starts to struggle around 15 hz and then just cuts out whereas the pb 4000 or 16 ultra would prob sustain clean sound down to maybe 10hz
Yeah, I’m very curious to hear what a monster PB16 Ultra could do in my wide open living room. For years, I thought, “Why would anyone want that much power?” But now it’s stating to make sense, since it’s not just about how loud it can get. And thanks for the compliments!!! The mid bass slam they produce is insane and have plenty of output under 20 hz which I feel like anything under the pb 3000 doesnt have much of. And ur content is gold bro CZcams just needs to push it out and eveything will fall in place!
Agree but it depends on the size of your room you don’t want the PB 4000 and a small room so the PB 1000 Pro is perfect for a small or medium size room

I would get two of the same ones. So two downfiring or two front-firing don't mix them imo.

Thanks, awesome video. I'm still wondering if I go for the 1000 Pro or the 2000 Pro! 50% more expensive where I live (NZ) so I'm not sure if the extra money is worth spending considering that the 1000 Pro seems a very good purchase by many reviewers. And I don't have a big room to power anyway...
Yeah, if it's not too big of a room, the PB-1000 Pro might just do the trick. The 2000 Pro is quicker and has a little more power behind it, but could potentially be a little overkill in a smaller room.

So what's the lowest Low Pass filter frequency you can select?? I can't believe no one mentioned this anywhere on the internet! I couldn't find it anywhere
this will be my next subwoofer. Currently have a Klipsch 112SW and it's broken in and sounds incredible however it falls flat when approaching those low frequencies. It is very punchy though plays movies really well. I can't wait to buy the PB-1000 pro i hope my current modest set up is worthy of its greatness :) BTW i had the same 8 inch Klipsch subwoofer and I'm suprised you kept it. I immediately upgraded it to the 112SW. Maybe cause I'm a basshead XD
Update: ordered this sub and got it today. My whole home theater experience has been uplifted. The bass is so much deeper compared to the R120SW. I'm so happy I bought this. I got the klipsch when it was on sale for 250 so I can probably sell it used for 350 and make a profit to help cover the cost of this one. No regrets it's a whole new world for me. Ensure you set it up properly. Klipsch speakers have higher sensitivity and so don't need much gain however for the SVS I turned up my receiver gain and boom. Can't wait for it to break it but wow. The bass is ridiculous. Just try out the edge of tomorrow intro. Lol the apt was shaking😂🤣😂😂

Could it be a placement thing that you're not feeling the SVS bass? I mean afterall, it's behind your couch? And I think for a living room that large you should be getting the 3000 Pro and up Series. I think if you tried the 1000 Pro in a small enclosed bedroom setup you'd feel it more?
Exactly. I think that’s just the limitations of a 12” driver being powered by 325 watts. It’s deep a hell, but not too quick. I’d be interested in hearing a PB-3000 in my living room to know the difference
You really need to run REW, the may be a null at the frequencies you hear more punch than the smaller Klipsch, the wireless kits work great, better than what I was expecting
The only way to compare the 2 subs is to place them in the same place (also level matched) and then compare them.
Hello Ealan , I recently got my all Klipsch home theater speakers from Best Buy - Klipsch RP-8000f II , RP-504C II & for sub I got the new one R-121SW II. I wanted to get the SVS sub but since the Klipsch R-121SW was on sale for $299 I got them for a great price. Now it’s $599. Do you think the SVS-PB1000 Pro will be a big upgrade & noticeable performance when compared to Klipsch sub R-121SW II. ? Thanks in advance .🙏
I think they’ll be about the same, although the Klipsch has a little bit more power (400w vs 350w). The only big difference is app control with SVS and on-board EQ adjustments. If that’s something you might need, consider the SVS. If not, I think the Klipsch will do just fine. 😊🤘

The RCA outputs are there only to daisy chain additional powered subwoofers, if you so choose. 👍
I'm using Klipsch spl-150 and still thinking about for my next additional subwoofer. I'm already thinking about 2nd spl-150 but after do some research I think SVS is a good choice.
Now I'm thinking about pair my spl-150 with SVS pb-1000pro. But I'm not sure this is a good idea or not. BTW I can't reach pb-2000 because the price in my country is too high 🥲
I guess with the PB-1000 Pro having an app that allows you to dial in a couple EQ parameters, that would be one of the only differences between it and the SPL-150. But they are almost identical on paper. So if you really like the app feature, maybe go with the SVS. Otherwise, I’d stick with Klipsch and get a second SPL-150, since it’s still a great subwoofer, and it’s a little bigger than the PB-1000 Pro. 👍
Hello again Ealan, i have a SB2000(not the pro model) and im not totally satisfied, it's very okay for music but 80% i use my 5.1.2 system for movies. My room is small but now i think that i should have gone with a PB1000 PRO instead the SB2000. If i sell my SB and buy the PB1000PRO do you think ill be making a downgrade? Unfortunately where i live i cant listen to them prior to buy and returning such large and heavy boxes its a hassle and here the shipping costs much. Maybe the placement of my sub is wrong, maybe my room, i dont know why but i supposed i would love the SB2000 more!
Oh hi! Well, the SB2000 does have more power than the 1000 series, so it will have a quicker attack and will respond a bit faster to certain LFE situations than a PB-1000 Pro.
The PB-1000 Pro will get a bit deeper, though, since it’s ported and not sealed. Although you may be able to achieve the same by having the SB2000 in a corner so it’s reverberating against the walls, too. I’d try different positions around the room first before resorting to switching it out entirely. 😁

I don't have either of those subwoofers, but this video solidified them as my #1 choice of replacement subs if either of the ones I have finally give out on me. I absolutely agree with getting the best of both worlds! My current subwoofer setup does exactly that (Klipsch promedia THX subwoofer for THOOM THOOM and an extremely old Sony SAWMS5 for WOMP WOMP). They don't consume much power but putting them right next to my couch let's then do more than enough for the entire listening position. Whole fam loves it!
On a 2nd note, the pro is nearly double the price of the OG 1000 and I just couldn't pass up a near $400 sale I found for it yesterday! I've been asking too much from the Sony and this will help take its place for the absolute monstrous womp womp while still keeping the Klipsch.

Yes one PB 1000 pro subwoofer feels my whole game room which is a small size game room but I had three klipsch subwoofers in the same room and they had a hard time competing with the quality of sound that comes from the PB 1000 Pro
So I will be getting another PB 1000 pro to replace another one of my klipsch

@@alambe7275 Cool! Honestly, because of SVS' ridiculous price hikes, I'd go with HSU subs bc just their VTF 2 mk5 has both the Klipsch punchiness AND the PB 2000 performance for slightly less than the price of a PB 1000 pro.
I have a SB3000, & a SB4000, in my living room system with a Marantz SR7012. I also have 2 Klipsch SPL-120's in my home theater with a Marantz SR8012. The sealed designs of the SB series have faster attack, and you can achieve the same effect with the foam plugs SVS will provide.
With the SVS I do have to turned up the subwoofer channel ony receiver by 3db for the best sound. I keep the SVS SB subs at -10db for best result. When I crank it up they easily pressurize the entire room and scare my friends.
My Klipsch sound boomy in comparison, but will shake my house down if I turn it up.
Audyssey won't want to run with them at -10. Mine are at -17 and -20. Do you just run it anyway? If so then the Marantz will just max out at -12
For the mid bass set peq 1 at 29hz add +4 db with a q factor of 2.5 and rewatch john wick. I have the pro also,2x actually but because of a fed ex delay,had to run just a single for a few hours .
My room is also large and open to the kitchen and 2nd living room but my experience has been nothing less than stellar,even with just one running,2 is a dream come true...everything rattles when it's supposed too and gunshots have far more impact then with my original 1000s. It had to be an issue with placement for sure.

Someone else had that reaction to the volume of their SVS sub and after research recommended doing this for it to come alive. You need to use a Y splitter 2 males/1 female end in to SVS Sub left & right inputs & the solo coax cable into receiver then you will notice the sub come to life in volume.

Getting this sub tomorrow. 12 db slope tends to let too much mid bass in, 24 can cut too much. 18 seems to be about right for most subwoofers, just my experience.
What about 2 ch music? What about connecting to high level inputs?
Typically that’s reserved for the SB-1000 Pro since it’s sealed. The PB is more for digging deep down for movies/TV, although you can get port plugs to make a hybrid ported/sealed subwoofer. Best of both worlds! 😄
I haven't tested the the svs brand yet. I ordered the elevation speaker yesterday. I do have klipsch. I have the SPL-12. Try that and then compare to the svs. I'm going try the svs and monolith subs and see who's who. Lol. Thanks for the video 👍👊💪

I don’t have a comparison video, but from what I experienced with the PB-1000 Pro, I would’ve liked the PB-2000 more for my larger living room. More power, more speed. I think it’s worth it if you’re in the same boat 👍

I am still torn between sealed and ported. Is either a pair of SB 3000 or PB 1000s or PB2000s. I have always liked sealed subs much better. Even for movies I want a tight bass no hollow sound and no Monotoned boominess That tends to resonates with the room And cause unneeded unwanted excess rattling of everything in the house. But I do like those lows that shake the couch.
Get the ported, then request port plugs also from SVS. That way you can go ported, half sealed or fully sealed to your heart’s content!
I have svs pc 4000 laying behind couch and a svs pb ultra 13 next to couch in a 12x18 room it’s crazy 😜 but awesome at same time :)

Sounds like you need REW and Umik-1 to actually take measurements of both subs to get the most of them.
Svs probably need better room placement with living room.

Sorry for the late comment Ealan. One thing that you can do to increase the transience of the PB1000 is to plug one, or both of the ports. You will lose a few dbl's and some of the low end, but the drivers will move faster. The best option is to move up a step or two in the Svs product line. Your room is too big for the PB1000. You should start at the 3000 series and go with either of the models and get dual subs. You noticed how filling it was with 2 mismatched subs. Totally different experience with 2 matching subs. It will literally change your life. I currently run 2 SB3000's in my 7.2.4 system and they absolutely KILL. I've watched every John Wick movie,, Ready Player One, Godzilla King of the Monsters, and the remixed atmos version of The Matrix series at least 10 times or more for the atmos effect and to hear my dual SB 3000'S beating up my house foundation. Always go duals if you afford it and have the space. Quads if you're rich.
Absolutely agree! Yeah, I knew something like dual PB-3000s would suit my large living room better, but this was the first time working with SVS, so I didn’t get their flagship products to review right off the bat. Eventually, tho! 😄💪
The THOOM sound from the Klipsch is boomyness. They are designed to sound like that to give the impression of more bass. I had a Klipsch R-12SW, no slouch and it was boomy too. Replaced by the PB-1000 Pro. Much cleaner and powerfulliery.
Just sold two of those 12sw and bought the PB1000 pros can’t wait to hook them up. Dual subs!!

@@shorty332 I haven't really had time to listen to them. I received them on Sunday and I normally listen to music on the weekends. I also plan on running room correction for my surround sound but there is definitely some serious power and clean bass coming out of these things.

I’m new to home theater I wanted to upgrade my receiver a Sony STRDH790 to one with pre outs and I’m looking at the demon AVR-X3700H and at the marantz SR5015 and I’m not sure what to look for so I wanted some help picking
Those are both great receivers, but go for Marantz if you can afford it. It’s going to be a slight step above Denon every time. Marantz is most known for how well their receivers sound with music, too, not just home theater settings. 👍

@@beware_for Hey man I have the 8000f, 504c, 502s, and two atmos ceiling speakers all driven off my AVR. Klipsch speakers are super-efficient and their high sensitivity means you don't need a lot of power to get the most out of them meaning you don't need an amp at all. In fact, it is a bit of a waste of money.
So if you have the "womp womp" of the SVS simultaneously working with the "thoom thoom" of the Klipsch, did that give you an ever so magnificent "thwomp thwoom"? ;) ;) Got my first SVS PB 1000 Pro being delivered. Can't wait!

Hello! I have a question I hope someone with knowledge can help me answer!
Currently I own a single PB-1000 (not Pro) in a 5.1 config, with towers as my fronts.
My question is, if I were to upgrade to duals, would it be a better match to get a PB-1000 Pro, combined with my old PB-1000. Or, could I get the PB-2000 Pro, with no mismatch.
(I like bass, and listen to alot of music with deep bass, and also use it a lot for tv/movies)
I’ve read people saying, Dual subs works best if they are identical, but since I would be upgrading to a Pro edition, could I just get a PB-2000 Pro and still get good sound, without major “holes” in the coherency.
I know the best option would be to get, lets say, 2x PB-1000 Pro, but my funds are an obstacle here, unfortunately.
My room is approximately 180 sq feet (17 m2)
Please help if you know more than me. :D
Hi! Well, yes, having 2 PB-2000 Pros would be most ideal, but believe me, I get how funds are an issue. 😄
In the meantime, yeah, I’d get a PB-2000 Pro and pair it with your PB-1000. But since the 2000 has more power with a faster transient response, it might take some experimentation to get timing down between the 2 subs - a la moving the 1000 around the room, trying different angles, etc, so that they blend well.
Home Theater Gamer has some awesome subwoofer matching tutorials. But when you upgrade to 2 subs, I would definitely also invest in a UMIK-1 calibration mic, and download the (free) software REW. Home Theater Gamer often uses that combo to dial in subwoofer pairings. Check out his stuff! 👍

@@flikpeaceful5882 Hmmm…it may be an LFE setting. Low Frequency Effects only activate the subwoofer with TV and movies, but not when the AVR is receiving a stereo signal. In the link I posted below, check out #2 bullet point to switch some things up so it’s not just LFE signals that activate the subwoofer 👇👇👇

I still haven't seen a comparison between the SVS PB 1000 and the new PB 1000 Pro anywhere on the web. So odd that there isn't a comparison between the new and old. They're still selling the PB 1000 and it's about half price of the 1000 Pro, so it really is a question of, is it worth the extra money for the 2" extra and app interface?!

Nope. On SVS website the 1000 and the 1000 pro are the same price. $499! Whch is weird because you would have to be crazy to get the 1000 over the 1000 pro at the same price.
That being said, You will not find a better sub for $500. I have two PB1000 Pro's and they are immensely impressive!

Actually I wonder if you should have gone with the sealed box 1000 Pro. I can't disagree with your assesemnt more, I had a good 8 inch and the SLAM, POP and PUNCH from the SVS SB1000 Pro had my mouth gaping time and time again, I put it in the same spot, same direction, everything was kept the same just switched the SUB. What a DIFFERENT WORLD, honestly, I am flabbergasted, I spent almost all of last night with my mouth open and eyes wide with a 'OH MY LIFE THIS IS INCREDIBLE' face. This is the CLEANEST, and punchiest bass I have heard - in a long time. Longer than my audio memory can serve. I think you really need to try the SB or perhaps intergation for you wasn't done right - or right ENOUGH. I have HEARD (pun, I am no authority so this really is just HEARD) that larger drivers are harder to integrate, specially in smaller rooms. IMO there has to be an explanation because I am going out on a limb, this is nonsense (the punch you mention, or lack of vs the 8inch klipsch)
I do not believe the klipsce has faster attack and decay/AKA accuracy. Period.
Not sure where you heard about the large sub/small room thingy, but I run two 15" Subs in a 15m2 room an have no issues with integration. I do have them placed diagonally for more linear frequency response though.
meh i had the sb-1000 pro for all of a week its currently on its way back to svs... i didnt see anything incredible about it in my bedroom 13x18, other than to say it integrated very well with their smaller satellite speakers to make them sound like a good 3 way, so theres that.. tried it in two rooms with 2 different systems, in my family room, 20x28 12' ceilings it was virtually non existent next to my 10 inch three way towers... run through a denon s659h in br and a pioneer elite lx105 in family room.. it did have some low end presence.. and with its satellites was excellent for playing classical music...
the integration with the satellites was impressive you could feel it went a bit deeper than the subs i currently have if i werent trying to upgrade a system i already have in the bedroom it would have been really good and most likely would have kept it but in a direct comparison one satellite to another one sub to another there was not enough improvement in sound quality to justify the price
that said the svs 5.1 satellite set up including the sb1000 pro was crisper and cleaner through out the range.. just didnt fill the room the same
giving the fluance reference series and rsl speedwoofer a shot next figure i have to get away from satellites for the sound i want

How useful do you think the app is? Right now the PB-1000 pro is about $800, a PB-2000 (non pro)is about $700. From what I’ve read the PB-2000 is still quite a bit better than the PB-1000 pro but obviously doesn’t have the ultra convenience of the app.
What do you think? Is the app worth and extra $100 and worse performance? Pretty big room with 10 foot ceilings, I also have a klipsch 8-swi that I could put with it so the extra power from the pb-2000 might not even be necessary!
Hmmm…well, another thing to consider besides the app is the sound path USB port which allows you to make the PB-1000 Pro go wireless with a sound path kit (which is extra $$, though). But if you have placement issues or don’t want to have long RCA cable runs, having a wireless sub is nice.
But if that’s not something you care about, going with the PB-2000 might be the way to go. The app support is convenient, but if sometime down the road you decide to get more technical with your subs (time alignment, EQ, etc), you could also get a UMIK-1 calibration mic from MiniDSP and download the free REW software to run frequency sweeps and dial in tweaks to your subs. The MiniDSP 2x4 HD is wildly popular when it comes to bass management, so there are alternative methods to do what the app can do (and do it even better than the app, IMO.) 🤘
@@ealanosborne wireless is definitely something that matters to me! I honestly didn’t realize that you couldn’t setup the pb-2000 to be wireless(thought there was like wireless adapters and stuff you could buy, granted that’s extra money!).
I know with a big room like I have and for movies that ported is better…but what about a SB-2000 pro? Obviously not ported but more powerful. There’s one on marketplace nearby for $550 and pictures look to be in great condition. Is sealed gonna hold it back to the point where a pb-1000 pro is gonna still perform better for movies? Music isn’t really something I care for with my setup.

@@lamakicker69 Oh ported is the way to go if it’s mainly movies/TV you’re listening to. The best thing about getting ported is that you can experiment with the port plugs, sealing it a little or a lot, in case leaving all the ports open is a bit much in your space. Best of both worlds.

Should have waited and bought Svs 3000 micro double the SUB. For your living room. You got an open floor I don’t know why American homes are open floor. Planning on replacing my 8 inch down firing Klipsch 2013 - 2016 era its good. Front firing suits open floor. Plus I got a 10 inch sub klipch ref center ref. And quintets older ones that’s not fancy copper spun like yours. Svs 3000 for me coming Xmas. 899 price went up normally 799 been like that price for years not sure what’s going on with pricing these days.
I’m an American and I can’t stand open floor plans either. I like having individual rooms. Maybe a hybrid open floor plan is okay as long as there is a separate large room with 4 walls for a home theater setup. I don’t wanna be trying to listen to a movie with someone wrestling around pots and pans behind me!

I run dual pb3000s with a klipsch reference premier front stage (450c and two 280fs on an Emotiva xpa3), 4 RP 140 atmos wedges and four rp500m surrounds on a marantz 6013 in a 20’ by 20’ room and it’s beautiful overkill 😮 can’t imagine anyone ever needing more unless you own an actual movie theater. No calibration yet, set volume to -12 and she sounds goooood. Well, it was set up for my previous klipsch spl12s. The Chinese virus was good for my home theater I guess 🤷♂️😉

Might be upgrading to a SVS PB-1000. But everyone keeps telling me to go for the PB-1000 Pro...
However the price difference is so big, the PB-1000 is about €549,- and the PB-1000 Pro is €949,-
And if I sell my Klipsch R-100SW for about €500,- and I go for a used SVS PB-1000 I only have to add about €200-300 to get them.
When getting the PB-1000 Pro this is about 1000€ which is so much... I have a hard time making a choice...
The Pro version has the added benefit of app support (to EQ the sub a bit, if needed), and a little more power than the 1000. But otherwise, almost the same.

@@Kuku2205 even if you have bif front speakers, the only way of knowing if you are gonna use them for low frecuencies is with REW.
Lots of people with 3000$ front speakers, have them set at 100hz crossover becouse they hace much better response than setting them large.
Low frecuencies use lots of power, and it's better to let a big, good power full subwoofer to handle them.
Watching your channel has definitely furthered my interest in home theater audio. Thank you for all your content and the money you have helped me spend lol. I have been using the Klipsch Reference theater pack for just under 2 years and ready to start expanding (as you predicted) I have the Denon 750h again from Costco. I am no longer satisfied with the 8 inch sub, center and front stage speakers. I have purchased the RP 250 C, and RP-400 M for my front stage allowing the satellites to be additional height channels. I have some space limitations leading to the RP 400m's and ...finally to the question....SVS SB1000, SB1000 Pro or Klipsch R10S-Wi. My sub location is constrained due to appearances and 14 inches of space leading to my current options. I saw you just upgraded to the PB 1000 so I can guess your answer probably leaning to SVS. I feel the 8 inch sub struggles with Theater due to Chuffing and lack of immersion in my current setup. Leaning toward SVS, not sure Pro is really worth the upgrade at the small size. Thanks in advance. Also probably going for the new 760 H and the sub in the second TV room lol just to keep the addiction going....

And yes, go with SVS if you can. The pro version might come in handy since it has app support to really dial in and fix any anomalies your room might present. It’s helpful. And they do have best in class subs and customer service. And congrats on moving up to the RP line of Klipsch speakers. 🙌
I hate to break it to you bud, but that Klipsch sub you mentioned is nowhere near the quality or performance of the pb-1k pro. My best guess is that you wouldn't want to turn up your Klipsch sub is because at that volume the woofer was more like rattling and knocking instead of actually producing sound like any quality sub would. I also have an 8 inch sub from Yamaha, and it does the same, at a certain volume it starts shaking and rattling and knocking and all I can hear is the physical knocking of the driver itself instead of sound pressure. So yeah, that's why you wouldn't want to turn the gain higher on that sub.
I dont agree with getting 2 identical subs rather I would suggest to buy 2 identical brand subs with one being a ported and another being a sealed and placing the ported one at the corner of the room so that the lows which are supposed to be non directional work accordingly and the sealed one closer with a wide open area let travel travel quick butt kicks without any obstructions.

I initially felt the same way with it not being loud enough and the bass punchiness. Then I watched a tutorial video on how to properly set it up. Lol
First thing they recommend is turning down the level of the sub before running your receivers room calibration function. Then after turn the sub up to the level you want it. What a huge difference it makes.
Next you want to set your speakers to small on the receiver and set the crossover freq to match your main speakers. This allows the sub to play higher bass frequencies giving it that punchiness.
I previously had two JBL PB12 down firing subs and this one sub puts them to shame. The way it can pressurize a room with chest shaking bass is simply incredible. It's so clean too. All the way down to 17hz!
