Me! Nvidia's hissy-fit has gained Steve another subscriber :) Nvidia's marketing BS has been called out for what it is by more reviewers than just Steve. He is also largely right - the majority of games still do not support RT, as much as Nvidia want them to, so why review them? - the only cards they can be compared to is Nvidia 2000 series cards & we already know the 3000 series cards are better, if a little inconsistent. They are the ones that want the technology to move forward, so until Nvidia get their wallet out & support more developers, in-game RT support is unlikely to change - it's getting there but very slowly. As for DLSS ... run a game @4K, switch DLSS on & drop the actual resolution to anywhere from 720p to 1440p? Then have the software think it knows what you should be seeing? Hmm, 2.0 may be better but it's still not there - needs more work, Nvidia. & before anyone comments I have never bought an AMD GPU. I am, however, considering one this time around & this sort of s*** from Nvidia is only helping that decision.

    Great review as expected. Thanks.
Other reviews have pointed out dislike for the new 12pin connector, more specifically the looks of it with the adaptor. I suspect that the best way could be a modification to the pcie slot design, moving the 12pin connector to the motherboard with the card slotting in and the motherboard providing the power via a dedicated socket for the lead from the PSU. With the Intel 12vo standard and the prospect of ddr5 on the horizon it is perhaps the best time for such things to be figured out. Connectors on the back of the motherboard could even work well especially for cable management and the size of motherboard cut outs on modern cases.

I hope you'll also be exploring scaling on a PCIe x8 link at some point.
I think usage of the secondary PCIe slot for NVMe storage will become more and more common:
    - Once more high-performance PCIe 4 drives using new controllers enter the market, and software becomes capable of taking advantage of their speed (e.g. DirectStorage), people will want to add one to their system in addition to their old PCIe 3 drive.
    - Some motherboards only have a single dedicated M.2 slot.
    - On existing Intel platforms, the possible multiple M.2 slots often share bandwidth thru a single chipset connection equivalent to PCIe 3 x4 - not only with each other, but most other peripherals and SATA storage.

This card will end up 3rd or 4th from the top in performance when all is said and done, that's without AMD in the mix fingers crossed.
I fully expect to see a Super and even Ti variants of this card. It's already been put out there that they're coming.
So because of charging higher prices on the 20 series the 30 series looks like a great deal.
Don't get me wrong the cards are truly powerful but instead of having a card at this level in the stack that we used to get for $500 we're now paying $700 plus.
NVidia Marketing is genius and pulled off a ramp up in price that will have everyone thinking it's an amazing deal but is it really?

I would not expect a Super version of these cards - the 20xx Super cards were released because the 20xx series was performing abysmally in the market, and was an attempt at luring 10xx series Ti owners into going to the new generation. This is why they compared the 30xx series to the 10xx series so heavily in their presentations - because this was the sticking point. There's no need for a dumbass Super version of the 30xx series cards - they actually deliver a meaningful upgrade for a great price, unlike the 20xx series.
Not saying it definitely will not happen, but I would be legitimately very surprised if we saw Super versions of these cards. We definitely will see Ti cards though.

From all the videos I chose this one first. You guys are the best at testing. Its the reason why i bought a 5700xt for my 1440p build and now I dont regret it even more!
