Sorry, there's an error in the specs section at 4:00. We based it off initial info from announcement, but final spec is actually 14Gbps memory and 448GB/s memory bandwidth. That doesn't change any benchmark data, but the specs table should read 14Gbps and 448GB/s.

Benchmarks today look at the RTX 3070's performance in gaming most heavily, but also include a big focus on thermals (including GPU, MOSFET, & GDDR6 memory temperatures), mechanical design and pressure application, frequency boosting, and overclocking. The gaming benchmarks include a lot of video cards, but some noteworthy ones are the RTX 3070 vs. GTX 1070 comparisons, RTX 2070 & 2080 Super comparisons, and AMD RX 5700 XT benchmarks. Remember that you can always look at old charts and determine a relative percent difference between your current card and something that is on these charts, then roughly approximate where yours would fall relative to the 3070 (just some simple percent scaling math will work). The GTX 970 could be compared in this fashion.

Dont argue without facts boiiis hahaha here is the thing 3070 isnt 4K if you do, you will exceed its 8gb Vram hence its crap.
And the 1080ti runs 1080p in 200-240fps or more so it can easily run 1440p and definitely 4K just pair the card with a decent CPU ( of couse with AA and other useless settings Off )
Also depends on the 1080ti edition, if you use founders then you will thermal throttle in no time and loose performance then be ignorant enough to thinl the card isnt strong....

Thanks Steve!! I bought a 3070 Black Gaming from EVGA because it was one of only a few in stock at my local Micro Center. I really wanted the 3080 but this had plenty in stock so might as well. It's a huge upgrade from my 1080Ti which I loved dearly. Nearly all my title games have maxed itself to 144fps or close to it on 1440P. I'm pleased. If it's meant to be a 2080Ti replacement, I'm still happy I have a 2080Ti for half the price ;)

"If you are happy with the video card you have now there is no reason for you to upgrade just because something new came out, hold on to it, make the cards that you have last as long as you can and then upgrade when it really truely makes sense because you are unhappy with the performance you have."
Is a good statement, I have been running a pair of GTX660 cards for a few years now. Though, have been thinking of upgrading to a pair of 1650 or similar.
I run two cards due to having a lot of monitors, I don't run SLI, though some workstation tasks I work with could really make use of some more modern GPUs.... But main reason I am interested in upgrading is to reduce system power consumption... (Gets a bit toasty in summer...)

All of Denmark to date has gotten like three hundred 3080s and they have like 8900 pre-orders still unfulfilled. nVidia is stupid as hell for not making more of these cards. I don't care what "historic launches" were like - you make the best generational performance leap in over a decade and couple that with a pandemic where every tech worker is stuck at home and you get yourself easily tenfold demand of the 2000 series. Probably more.
When microcenters are getting 12 cards but had a line up of 200 people there's a fucking problem and I don't care if Jensen wants to call it a "demand problem, not a supply problem" it's a goddamn supply problem.

@@timno9804 If they manage to get them out the door. Llately AMD has been proving they are a significantly better CPU company. They need to have something that can soundly beat the 3070 at a lower price (with solid drivers) in order for people to take it seriously. If its anything less than that, then it will probably whimper out like Radeon VII and the 5700XT did. And that would be a real shame. They have not had a really solid winner since the 5870 and they really need to fire on all cylinders to pull off some market again. And I have my doubts sadly. And this is coming form a long time AMD/ATI fanboy. I decided on the 5700XT earlier this year and I have no regrets with it. It has been a great card with no driver issues in my case, but i really only got it because I wanted an all AMD build again after so many years. Not because its price was compelling. RDNA 2 better knock it out of the park.
