I've never had a negative feeling about Donavan. But damn, talk about presenting himself well. His confident thoughtfulness just made me really like him. Usually in these interviews the people are exactly who you expected them to be. But this interview and the one with Ben Simmons are two that dramatically improved my impression of them.

This what the league is all about. The NBA is so good at developing narratives without even trying. These kids are so hyped when they get to the league, they often forget what it's like to compete/lose consistently. Most of them are so used to being the best, they need that journey to fuel their hunger and be the driving force that leads them to the promise land. Can't become a champion without the journey.
