Haven’t seen a coach milk one ring harder than Glenn
Tom Izzo
@@adgee5401 aka Tom H to the Izzo
And that ring isn't even an achievement. He's a guy who thinks he's a champ after winning 1 of 10 horse races in a Ferrari. They won in spite of him, not because of him. He's not a championship coach.
That's right it's Glenn not Doc
@@mkhanman12345yessir 😂😂
Keep Bomani !!! This the 3 !!
Wouldn’t be mad about that
Nah
Bomani a real chill brother ❤
@@jimtib8206 He won’t do anything but bring that race/political crap to the show.
Hell naw lightskin dude a corn ball Melo gotta get different people soon of later
It’s crazy how Doc keeps getting these head coaching gigs. But it’s even crazier that given his track record, the Bucks brought him in as a special consultant.
And they still hired him as head coach even after failing as a consultant.
Like it easy win titles. That's what u supposed to do
Melo talking about underachieving is crazzy
Melo has a right to talk and say what he wants he's played in the game and at the highest level.
The only critique I can say about Melo is he chased the bag instead of chasing rings.
The irony is immense
Melo is a classic all about his own thing. Never a winner, just a scorer 🤷🏼♂️
@@davidcici11EvolutionMelo is soft and has no right to even call himself a man, let alone a black man. He's more white girl than he is black man
He achieved, but he had bad luck with teammates. Melo was a walking bucket in his prime. Respect on his name!
We've all worked with someone like Doc. Someone who is literally bumbling and does nothing but is very good at sucking up to management to get promotions.
it's on you the player to win...one game at a time...coaches don't play
@@cashrjr23coaches set up players for success so yeah coaches matter and doc is not great but is always being hired
And for some reason everyone really likes them
@@cashrjr23 you’ve never ever played sports, have you? Scouting reports, game plan, in game adjustments, matchups, timeouts, a lot of variables rely on coaching. If you’re curry and your coach matches you up with Giannis, or if your coach subs in a 6’5” high lineup against three 7 footers, or if your coach puts you in the corner all game, or if you take on the toughest defensive assignment and you coach doesn’t sub you out to rest despite the opposing star going down to rest, or if a lineup is not work and you’re hemorrhaging points yet the coach doesn’t stop the bleeding with a new plan, yeah, overcome that as a player 🤦♂️
@@iwishiwasthomasshelby Doc does that...but the players these days are soft...a few are real winners...Magic...Kobe...and Jordan were coaches on the court...made coaching easy...and yeah I played in the 70's
Melo was deep about the analyst to coach play
"Doc must be good at talking to white people"
"We all know that persons that is so good at talking to white people"💎
Think his one of those coaches that seems like he has the answers when talking to owners or GMs who have not played but players instantly know his full of BS.
This is the kind of mindset that hold black folks back. You judge people based on their action, not their skin color. There's good humans in every color, get rid of this white/black mindset. We all bleed red, most white folks are cool to talk to, don't be afraid. Expand your mindset, be free, be bold, be courageous, be kind, be respectful, and most importantly, respect and love yourself. We're all humans, we can and should talk to each other. Love ❤️
@@jimtib8206 shut the hell up
@@jimtib8206I hear what your saying and don’t necessarily disagree but at the same time it’s hard to drop a mindset when the. Conditions of black men and woman are still second to everyone else.

Bomani’s the man, love this energy. Definitely need to make him a regular and love this for the kid Mero!!
Doc better wake up each morning calling KG and Paul for salvaging his career 16 years ago. There are kids in high school learning to drive that were born the year Doc won his single championship.
Melo keeping it real about brotherhood. It went over many peoples head
Did you ask many people?
@@MD-DOOM Look at the comments
Doc didn't care about black men sticking together. Adrian Griffin had the job Doc wanted. That's all that mattered.
Major facts hit the nail on the head
Lmao 🤣
Melo is on point. You cutting my throat knowing how long I had to wait for my turn
People like to talk about unity and other things, but it’s every man for himself in the professional world. If it’s between me and someone else, I don’t care what race they are, how old, what’s going on in their lives: I’m gonna back myself
I have a friend that played with Doc with Clippers, and he had nothing nice to say about him.
Doc is the little finger of NBA coaches.
Nah little finger did some shit tho

I just subscribed. If Bomani is on here I’m tuned in. This is a BIG 3!!
As a bucks fan this is totally depressing. Front office responsibility has a lot to do it.
And your star pulled a Lebron trying to play GM didn't help. But that's the curse of being a small market team trying to keep a star happy.
As a Sixers fan, buckle up. Having Doc as your coach is basketball purgatory.
Bomani is on point at the end. Its hilarious to see so many of Doc's former players speaking out on and being so tired of him getting another chance after they need to talk him up when he first gets the job and they on his team, not really understanding the reasons his former team let him go until they see it first hand then fail in the playoffs and become the next group of players that get tired of of him. Dude has worn out his stay
Yet big perk gets mad when some people say that about Doc
Even if they are tired of him, is that a good criticism of his schemes? These discussions completely ignore what actually happened on the court and during the games.
Doc is very likable guy especially with owners, he is employable.
How does that translate to a good relationship with the players?
@@victormuhammad1393 he is also has been called players coach so don't know what you talking about.
@@casiocurious8744🗑🗑🗑
@@casiocurious8744 nahh maddddd ex players dont vibe with dude, it's a known fact
@@BIX-18827DCM mad players? Ok didn't know that.
This is the trifecta please keep Bomani as a regular contributor
They cookin on this podcast 🔥 Love how yall balance the fun with some real game
Doc is simply a voice, and his job is to get his players to execute the plays that he designs. He's not out there on the floor so if his players are not motivated to play, thats not all entirely on him. He's coached some teams with alot of talent, but he's only been successful with the Celtics because they collectively had a winning mentality unlike the teams he's been coaching today. He was solid in Orlando too winning coach of the year and rebuilding that team, but loosing that 3-1 series lead to the Pistons pretty much buried his career as a Magic coach.
Coaching in the NBA is part skill, part politics, part favoritism, part luck, part racism, & part timing with a sprinkling of collusion, depending heavily on the nature of each team's ownership and the degree of influence of the stars on the squad.
Don't forget: part race. 😂😂
What a great observation! I'm rarely in the comments on CZcams but I had to acknowledge this. Just well said. So on point Fam!
He knows how to play the game of thrones
😂😂😂💯
I dont mind Doc being able to land coaching jobs but I do wonder how he always get a contender. He done coached some many hall of fame players it crazy.
All those ex 90s NY Knicks players (Doc, Monty) got a good coaching finesse game
That set is dope!
This is very good analyst that should continue into the future.
Melo made a great point.
Melo always does he is very underrated in terms of knowledge of the game
I'm pretty sure that Doc knew when they asked him to be a consultant that he was replacing Adrian Griffin for the head coaching job.
They talked to Doc about the job before hiring Griffin
Great discussion!!
They should call this show Gossip Girls
Doc Bobby Womack Rivers lol
Right on Melo✊🏿

Doc the Marvin Lewis of the NBA
Nah, Marvin Lewis didn't win in Cincinnati but with how bad they were before he got there and how marketable they became during his tenure deserves acknowledgement
He's more like the Barry Switzer
Those Celtics teams were good because of KG getting in the team and thise Clippers teams were way more entertaining when Del Negro was coaching and Ben Simmons and Embiid were more aggressive when Brett Brown was coaching
I feel what Melo is saying but when it comes to upper management shit brothers ain’t brothers it’s almost a flex to do ya “own” ppl dirty. The ops love them one of the “good” ones.
Mero's legs when he sits, dragging and scratching the whole side of his shoe on the floor, is crazy
Melo should always sit in the middle! Bomani centered makes it his show imo. Im here for Carmelo Anthony’s stories. Keep going.

Shout out Perk for putting respect on Doc name.
Melo break-down 🙏🏾👏🏾
I think the mistake a lot of these teams make, is always too quick to pull the trigger.
Doc Rivers with the Bucks is 3 and 7, former coach Adrian Griffin with the bucks 30 and 13.
At the end of the day Doc championship in 08 still holds weight and allows him to still get jobs
That is a failed argument because that ring must hold more weight than 4 rings the way Celtics fans still talk about that championship. Doc has underachieved with every team he has been including those Celtics teams and is the reason they lost that second finals matchup against the Lakers with his poor game adjustments and not making any.
He also hasn't gotten to a conference finals since that finals I am alluding to. He is literally the Mike McCarthy and dallas Cowboys of NFL headcoaches. Just not good enough to win it all just good enough to make the playoffs.
Their is plenty of coaches who have one ring that are better than him, and their is coaches who don't have rings that are better than him (Mark Jackson, Monti Williams, both Van Gundy brothers). Doc isn't even a top 15 coach in today's league. Highly thee most overrated coach in NBa history who lives off that one ring like that is a lifetime achievement award.
Coaches current and former that are better than Doc (no specific order just off the dome)
1. Phil Jackson
2. Greg popovich
3. Nick Nurse
4. Larry Brown
5. Monti Williams
6. Steve Kerr

Doc probably honestly wanted to help AG but he immediately started thinking 💭 I think I covert this job 😅
“Doc Rivas” Mero 😂
It's amazing how many folks in all types of organizations who have never had a job in a leadership position of any significance always know all the answers. You would think they'd be the ones always getting the top slots instead of all those incompetents. Life isn't fair. Well, at least they can lean hard into social media. Technology opens the door for everyone.
It is what it is with Doc Rivers.
All these yt ppl in the comments don’t understand what melo is saying. It’s so funny too see.
Right
The term I've heard recently for this is "failing upwards".
Businesses put too much emphasis on experience and this leads to the same undeserving people getting opportunities while those with the actual talent getting shut out.
Melo smart af
Doc is the Bomani of NBA coaches.
He got on Zillow 😂😂
🔥🔥
the Bucks are crazy!!
I see a lot of people hating on Doc Rivers and his record but little to no ridicule or criticism of the so-called "Super Stars" that played for the teams he coached who were all but absent when their teams needed them most. Namely, Ben Simmons, Paul George, Kawai Leonard, James Harden, Joel Emibid, and others. It seems to me that it is easier to be critical of the coach than it is to hold accountable the NBA pros who are well paid to do what they do best but go MIA when they should be "clutch." I'm just saying what I haven't heard anyone else say yet.
I would agree with you but one thing is that after Doc is let go those players and teams play better once Doc is gone.
@@alphadog3586 True but still no titles

Peace to the god hour in Medina.!
Melo sound like kanaan
Doc is to coaches as Melo is to players.
Why would you trade your gritty defensive PG who got you a ring for a an elite scorer and then bring in the supposed defensive Coach?
Bomani the journalist who spent his whole career working for and with white people acting like he’s not the dude who’s good at talking to white people is cute 😂
He knows from his career that part of talking to white people is always telling them they are difficult and bigoted so that they can be manipulated
Colonizer logic is hilarious to me. What are you even whining about? 😂
Bomani will also flame people with the truth. Remember that shirt he had with fake mlb logo the Caucasians. That was epic 😂
This was a good conversation but I don't know why they got rid of Budenholzer in the first place.
Melo!
DOC IS A GREAT SPOKEN VERY ARTICULATE BLACK MAN WELL DRESSED SOCIABLE, DOC IS A GREAT ASSET FOR BLK PEOPLE TO INSPIRE AND BE LIKE, AS A WHITE MAN I FIND DOC A ROLE MODEL FOR BLK YOUTH TO INSPIRE TO FOLLOW
He is an admirable man with a great character, career, family, and achievements. BUT as fans we would like him to go sit down, reflect, and get off the sidelines. He is better suited for commentary at this point. No one is above critique or reproach.
If you say you don't mean it as an insult, you probably mean it as an insult.

Crazy.... doc rivers has a winning record everywhere he's goes .. except Orlando..
at what point do the blame the players, for forgetting how to play basketball???
Maybe his attitude makes players not feel comfortable in clutch situations
Naw those players gotta take blame
You can’t blame the players because the common denominator is Doc rivers. It didn’t matter what set of players it was. That team will get eliminated from the playoffs and blow a game 7.
Doc was the right move. Griffin wasn’t like end of story.

What is going on with NBA team owners? Team was second, and after replacing that coach, what's the record?😢 this is attack on DEI using unqualified I dividuals
Im not blaming the coach for those 3 to 1 leads. Thats on Blake and Cp3 and kawhi and PG and Joel and simmons
You forgot about the 3-1 lead he lost with the Orlando magic with tmac. Gtfoh he’s blown a 3-1 lead on 4 different teams
Its on HIM
Who is the common denominator?
I don't think it was necessary dirty. Terry Stotts was there until he was not. Obviously Milwaukee didn't work their strategy well enough.
Doc aint a black man. He's Doc.
“I’m not black, I’m OJ……..ok”
if lebron goes to the kniccs does melo come out of retirement is that a plan ? 🤔
As a Sixers fan, I watched the players quit on Doc every single year in the playoffs. I honestly don't blame them entirely. Having such dead weight on the team is deflating.
“He must know how to talk to white people” when I say I almost crashed my car 😂😂
Maaaaan wat 😂😂😂😂 shit took me out
This was all Giannis and you can’t convince me otherwise
Say what you want about Doc, but there's a reason he keeps getting hired. Doc has the it factor as a coach, players respect coaches that are ex players.
If he's a player coach I assume he isn't holding them accountable enough
