Dwyane Wade, LeBron James Chris Bosch they knew they had to take a pay cut. Melo was not willing to take no pay cut. That’s why the nyk can I get any solid players around him. He ISO player that did not understand team basketball. Everything was just about me me me me.. as a result this is the end no championships at all once you understand basketball is a team game you are as strong as your weakest link. When you have that mindset you don’t mind taking a pay to get that extra guy who can give your team an extra boost when you are sitting on the bench.!

Other teams that were actually winning consistently were paying guys around what Melo was making and the management of those teams were able to put together contending rosters while paying a max player or two. Triangle offense went to the finals 13 times with 11 wins with a shooting guard operating next to the foul line…when they had a small forward in the triangle, he was the first shooting guard’s sidekick.
The triangle was outdated by that time too.
It’s not outdated, it’s just the quintessential way to use it (Bulls in the 90s with two wings leading) is best in one on one situations aka with zone defense illegal. Can’t just create that open shot for yourself nor your teammate with two to three people legally defending you. 9 rings came in 11 seasons and they had to switch things up drastically. Zone first was legal 2002-2003, and the triangle lost in the 04 and 08 finals, barely won the 2010 finals and only easily got 09 because the other team was generally just that inferior. Rules and regulations now with the perimeter being the centerpiece of offense makes triangle secondary.
Edit: yes the Warriors use it in the 4 in 8 period yes but it was mixed up with other offensive systems too. Like I said, it was used secondarily while a more motion offense was the focal point.
It's not out dated at all!!! The 2015 Spurs were running the triangle offense. GSW also still to thisnday runs a extended triangle instead of the block to the basket. They run it from the high post extended. Spurs has said that plenty of times.
