    Thank you. This tutorial helped me get airdrop and handoff working on an early 2011 MBP that did not have that functionality before. IMPORTANT NOTE: if you're doing this upgrade in a pre-2012 MacBook you have to be sure you are buying the part number that ends in "4CAX" the "4AX" is a direct replacement and DOES NOT have the functionality. I am glad I found that out before buying by reading some forums. Almost made that mistake. Also for the iSight camera plug, don't pull on the cable, use a precision flathead and work the two sides, it slides out towards the disc drive. Mine was tight, not as easy as shown in this video. Otherwise great and helpful video!

    Hi! Thanks for this video it is super helpful. If my bluetooth has suddenly disappeared from System Preferences and shows as not available in the manu bar would that be a problem with the replacement card mentioned in this video? (note I have tried all of the reset options)

    Do the wifi cable has somekind of glue?

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  Před 7 lety +1

      +Javier Lara it should be mechanical and glue is just for cosmetics and not needed, if you need to glue the cable for it to stay in place then you should replace it.

    Hi I have a 2013 MacBook. It's not my main machine but I still use it quite frequently. It's running Linux mint. I read that any pcie wifi card can be plugged in. I was wondering if a Samsung wifi card would work on that botherboard if I download the right drivers through linux?

      Late reply but heck I’ll answer. This tutorial is just a replacement of the chip and not an upgrade. So, it won’t add airdrop to your macbook.

    • @VicenzzoPaiva
      @VicenzzoPaiva Před 3 lety +1

      yes, but you have to use the Continuity Activation Tool to make AirDrop/Continuity work on the 2011 model. When the sustém boots it recognizes that’s a 2011 and assumes it doesn’t have compatibility, so even with BT 4.0 you need to patch it.
