    what does that number on the centre of the card mean 607-4144A? I ordered one but it has a different number. Will it still work?

      The sticker on my mid-2010 Macbook Pro said 607-6331-A, but the replacement part I received was a different number (I believe it was the number you mentioned in you comment). It ended up working perfectly fine in mine, despite being a different number

      A replacement should help but it will not be an upgrade.

    is this to replace the card with a card that is AC compatible?> ist hat possible? or is this just for replacing it with the exact same part if the part was faulty?

    Would the wifi card from a 2010 13" fit in a 2010 15"? My 13" battery has died bt the wifi is good, my 15" wifi died years ago and not used for ages. It's a backup mac for my workshop.

    There is one screw I can't remove. The one on the right most side of LVDS Bracket screws. I used a PH00 philips screw driver and a T3 but nothing works. Now I'm stuck here and couldn't continue in detaching the LCD

    How do you know if I need you need to replace the antenna or the card?

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  Před 4 lety +1

      Antenna never goes bad

    • @Serloap
      @Serloap Před 4 lety

      Well, my card was damaged, so the macbook was turning into a white screen (without apple logo or something), when I disconnected the card, it turned on correctly. So I think that if the antenna is failing, at least the macbook will turn on

    hi, what speed with the new wifi module?

  • @11cima
    @11cima Před 4 lety +1

    Hi, I have a 2010 13 inch macbook running high sierra, but this problem has already been present when running the original OS for this mac. My problem is that the wifi card cannot detect any networks. Very rarely though, it can detect the networks but cannot maintain a connection very long. If it does detect and connect to networks, signal and connectivity is very good. Other devices in the house can detect and connect to networks without problems.
    I have tried adding a new location, deleting the wifi and adding it again in system preferences, and even opening up the laptop and remove and reinsert the wifi card but none have solved the problem.
    Should I just replace the wifi card?

      Hi there, I guess so, I also have that same problem with the same model and it says that no airport card installed. I tried checking it with the repair services and I was told that it needs to replace a new wifi (AirPort) card.
      And may I know how are you able to install MacOS High Sierra on your MB 2010?

    • @11cima
      @11cima Před 3 lety +2

      Ramon Gozum
      I was able to install high sierra following the instructions in this video
      czcams.com/video/G_tOnHTe0_A/video.html
      I ended up replacing the wifi card and the problem was fixed. Because it is located in the hinge, it is prone to accidents/failure, and this is a design flaw, as demonstrated in other videos as well.

      @11cima Před 3 lety +1

      One more thing, the commands are not the same/available in the old OS, so I made the bootable dirve using another newer model macbook running a higher OS. I’m sure you can also do it through a windows device but I don’t have a link for that.

      Thanks, Alex. Have you ever changed the WiFI cable on this model. I ordered one and it looks easy except for the part which has the skinny cable, can't figure out how to get to that. I'm hoping that doesn't connect to the camera.

    • @GRIBSOFT
      @GRIBSOFT  Před 7 lety

      It does and you have to take of the LCD Glass to get to it. It's very difficult and very easy to crack. Before attempting to take off the glass, you should order a glass replacement for $15 in case you crack it. www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-LCD-LED-Screen-Display-Glass-c-w-MacBook-Pro-13-A1278-2009-2010-2011-2012-/121243671418?hash=item1c3aaf9b7a:g:6PgAAOSwyQtVr-VS

    I'm having recurring wifi dropouts. I can't switch it back on unless I restart, and even after restarting sometimes if won't reconnect. Than on occasions it says "no hardware installed" with an x on a wifi. Then later it will reconnect when I move to a different location. I have no idea what is hapenning. Should I replace the wifi card? I have an mid 2010 macbook...

      Shpend Mula did you replace the wifi card? I’m having the same issues you noted above. Did anything work for you?

    • @kllokoq
      @kllokoq Před 4 lety +1

      @@devanbruce1605 In my case, with the mid 2010 Macbook Pro, all I had to replace was the wi-fi cable. I bought only the cable on ebay, for couple of dollars, and it still works without any issues. I suggest you try this first before buying the wi-fi card itself, which is more expensive.It is easily replaced on this model, because as you can see on the video, it's on the surface.

    • @GRIBSOFT

      Depends on the model. Check out the ifixit.com repair guide for your specific model, they have part numbers there and you can even get it from them.
