Sir May I ask next time you headed to Ga on a trip Myra and I would love for you and the crew give us a call for a visit to Alexander city/Newsite area along the Hillabee Creek area for a visit. Got a few break barrels and pcps that has influenced the little lady and I as we love the practice of being sharp!
Another home run, Dr. Russ! I have you signed up with my Astros! Your signing bonus check is in the mail! Seriously, what a nice way to feature our sport.
Thanks for the compliment Bill Emshoff ... it is always good to hear from you .... If I recall ... you are in Arizona? Dr Russ

@@billemshoff9335 Bill ... thanks for the quick answer ... the next time we are in Texas ... maybe next Fall ... we will give you a call... Dr. Russ
I've been shooting all my life and air guns most of it and you still inform me of things I didn't know! Thanks!
Don Scott ... it is good to hear from you ... I have to admit after all of these years ... I am still learning too.... thanks for the compliments ... Dr. Russ
Thank you Dr R and Dr P, and your guest also. Nice chilled out stuff to watch... On the UK airgun forums there's a thread called "cutting the deck", splitting playing cards, I do it regularly at 60 yards with my .177 HW95 at 11.4ftlb using JSB Express and H&N FTT (but they produce a lower speed/power, slightly better in the wind though). I've split cards on a couple of occasions at 80 yards..... So when are you both going to do a UK tour?
Yorkshire Boy ... it is good to hear from you ... and splitting playing cards is great marksmanship.... I wish our current plans were to include UK ... but not yet... someday ... and we will look you up.... Dr. Russ
Your the best Dr. Russ!
I'm at work now so I won't be able to watch the entire thing, but I'll definitely finish it up tonight after dinner.
...such great info!
Thanks for your work!
George Loveless... Keep up the good work ... that is what is important these days ... and I hope a recession doesn't hurt your job or firm.... Thanks for the compliment... Dr. Russ
Thanks for introducing us to Drew. It's nice to meet other members of the fellowship. The PCP world is new to me which at the moment is limited to an unregulated .22 Marauder and a hand pump. Silent, increasingly accurate, and keeping it safe. A request to budget and finance for some up grades was met with demands for more justification, but she does appreciate that fewer squirrels are running across our pool screens.
Results are sometimes the best justification and inspiration for approval on future endeavors! Great fortune, and safety to you!!!! ! Nice to meet you as well! Drew
Once again, great video Doc!!! I love the new "visit" type videos and would be honored to be a part of one. I finally got my new Benjamin Armada .25 all tuned in, still completely stock with a Simmons scope (I know.... not the best), and it is loving the JSB pellets as you mentioned in this video. The Air Arms Diablo Fields (which I truly believe are basically the same as the JSB Kings) are punching dime size or less groups at 25 yards, nickel size groups at 50 yards, and quarter size at 75 yards. Yes sir, it is that accurate. I think I just got a great barrel, but I properly cleaned it all up prior to putting the first round through it. It is definitely not a rifle that will see the back of my closet anytime soon, I cannot put it down!! I pulled out my break barrels just for fun the other day (after falling in love with the Armada) and I am spoiled...haha. I do have my Beeman QB78's which are pellet on pellet at 10 and up to 20 yards, but they are just not appropriate for taking clean and ethical shots on varmints at distance which is my main priority. Anyway....sorry to get long winded. Thanks for the great informative video and keep them coming.
gaoutdooradventures ... it is good to hear from you ... and thanks for sharing. I love my Armada too and believe it is one of the best air rifles without a regulator out there. That air rifle came equipped with several barrel options ... and you obviously got a good one. Simmons makes several good scopes ... and you may have gotten a good one there too. Please keep us in your info loop of experiences with air guns... Let me know where you live ... and at the moment, if you are right on our journey list, we will stop and see you .... Dr Russ
@@russjones6497 I definitely got a good Armada no doubt, thanks. I am located in North Georgia about an hour or so north of Atlanta.

Cool video Dr Russ, I have a gen 1 and love it, comfortable and accurate.
👍🏻👍🏻
Go to Griffen air, I picked up 20 g slugs in 177. 3 different ones, haven’t shot them yet but I’m probably gonna save them for my Benjamin Armada.
Thanks for the tip Tom Manning ... Dr. Russ
I've had the gamo hunter extreme in 177 for years now and recently the gun hasn't been shooting accurately I have cleaned the barrel and found that it is separated 2 and a half inches in, I wish that it was a fixed 21 inch barrel under lever pellet rifle with the same power as the hunter extreme
Rick Baker ... It is good to hear from you. I am sorry to hear about your problem. It is not a big problem replacing that barrel... so consider getting a replacement from Gamo or off eBay etc. The repair will give you some experience in repairs ... and then sell it with the intent of replacing it with an under lever... I just found out last night why I couldn't hold zero on my gamo. I'm guessing it's the focus ring on the back side of the scope (closest to your eye) was loose. And caused the cross hairs to jump around. Now I have to resight it in. Owell.
Chaotic Twig ... thanks for sharing your air gun experience.... or rather scope experience. If you are still trying to make an original Gamo scope work ... your problems might continue ... Originally the Camaro was to be called the Panther. My wife owned a very early 67 Camaro that had Panther badging on the roof pillar.
DairyAirGunners ... thanks for the update on Drew's Camaro... Rumors now are that GM will stop production again unfortunately... not following Ford's lead in making the Mustang an all electric SUV vehicle .... and there is some complaint there ... that the electric SUV Mustang doesn't look like a Mustang... so Detroit is having problems following Tesla's lead in making electric vehicles... Dr. Russ
Dairy Air Gunners. I honestly didn't know about the "Panther" badging...Very interesting to hear about that, thank you for sharing! I can share that when the early developers of the line were asked what "Camaro" meant when it first came to market as "Camaro", they said it was a small vicious animal that ate Mustangs! I love that story! Take care, and nice to hear from you!
Dr Russ have you ever thought of making a video on polishing barrels I've been researching it and I'd like to hear your take on it thanks for all your great content I don't know if I'd have much to offer your viewers but if your ever near Des Plaines Illinois your more then welcome to drop by
Uncle Frank ... it is always good to hear from you and thank you for the compliment. I have referred to polishing barrels on several occasions and will continue to do so. Barrels are critical to accuracy. Leadening them in is just the beginning of improving barrels. While various lubricants help, polishing those lands and grooves is a more permanent way of achieving all that a barrel has to offer... however, in any treatment, it is important to keep anything out of those pneumatic parts. Expensive air guns like Walther and FX have polished barrels, that are made of very fine steels. Cheap air guns have cheap barrels, but working on those barrels allows them "to be all that they can be" ... using an old military phrase. Dr. Russ
every airgunner did have to shoot only at paper and metal targets where the lead can be recovered ,a simple pellet stop is a cartbox with old clothes ,you can take it easy everywhere

can you post a link to the scope you are recommending, I went to that site and I'm not sure which one it is
Good to hear from you ... all of the CVLife scopes work on Gamo Swarm models... be sure you also order a 10 picatinny to 20 picatinny conversion rail if you have 20 picatinny scope rings. Dr. Russ
Hi, I purchased a gen 3i 177 and the pellets are not loading into barrel getting chopped off at the end of the pellets messed up o ring any ideas? Thanks Tony
Tony ... the best solution is to push those pellets into the magazine further than your finger does. Typically a Q tip ... or a tooth pick ... etc. Dr. Russ
Russ Quick question, have you ever considered if one of the .25 cal airguns PCP will penetrate a deers skull for a brain shot? I know they will go through a 1" pine board (3/4") now days and still have enough power to flatten the pellet in a steel trap this is at 50 yds. but I would very much like to know what a deers skull would compare to (wood). I know they have shot hogs head shots with the Hatsan flash QE like I have at 40 to 50 yds.
Larrycastle5321 ... while I have not personally shot a deer's skull with any of my 25 calibers... (I typically hunt deer with a 357 or higher) but I have seen deer skulls that were hit by my favorite caliber (25). It will penetrate the skull if four things are present. First, it has to be a straight on shot and not at any angle ... and secondly it has to be under 40 yards... and thirdly, it needs to be a pointed pellet like a hunter's point, or fourthly, it has to be a heavy slug. While a number of viewers will disagree and provide personal hunt info that differs ... I believe that there are always exceptions to any hunters comments ... but I am commenting from a life time of hunting and always want a humane kill. Lastly, we only have about 35 states that allow deer hunting with an air rifle and everyone of them has rules that the caliber has to be 30 and most often 357 caliber or higher.
Great video doc. But I really wish you would silence the phone during the videos. Super annoying and distracting. But you probably have a good reason for it. @@russjones6497 perfect. Thanks Russ. Keep up the great videos!👍
what was that name & number scope your talking about please
Clement ... If you pull up the CVLife Catalog ... and particularly the scope page ... they only have about 10 scopes or less ... and any short or medium length scope will do .... be sure you get the right mounting piece for your Benjamin Vaperizer... and the one you got with the cheap scope will probably work... Dr. Russ
well i find shooting longer distances are better for me.
Let me explain.
Shooting 50 M or shorter, and a few mm off and its not cool, but shoot 75 M or 100 M and be a CM ( 10 mm ) off, maybe a little more and its not so shabby to me.
Peashooter ... that is exactly how I feel... but keep in mind that there are many air gunners who will shoot in a 30 foot back yard most of their lives ...or will never own an air gun that can hit a bullseye at 100 yards. Different strokes for different folks .... at the same time, I try to bring up tips that will help them be safe, sharp, and more silent than they have been in the past. Dr. Russ
@@russjones6497 Indeed.
We also started out shooting our .22 FX rifles in a back yard with just 39 foot or so ( 12 M ) to the target.
This was in the western sub burbs of the #2 largest Danish town.
We had absolutely no issues, and some times when we ran the garden trains at the same time as shooting we even had spectators.
Mind you, back then we was breaking the law using moderators, which in 2012 was totally illegal here, but as always we will always be nice considerate folks over being 100 % law abiding folks, not asking more of others than we are willing to give our self.
The law have changed now, though still quite painful to work with, for instance i am on month 5 of waiting for a permission to acquire another moderator,,,,, though this are now due to implementation of a new IT system at the police, which so far have taken a year, and no sight of when it will be completed, so a 2 day thing ( before ) are now a months thing.

Do I understand that you should not stand the rifle with the butt on the floor. And let the fluid run back into the rifle
That is correct Richard ... that fluid takes small pieces of lead down into the mechanisms ... which include the transfer port. Air mechanism are much more particular than gun powder air guns.
