Hits differently when you have to pay then when some one gets it for free. Makes you really think of you would pay 48$ for a foundation when influencers tell you it's so good but wouldn't buy it themselves! I paid 58.00 or some nonsense for one of those “women over 50 fantastic coverage” foundations. I’m even embarrassed to admit it 😮. I used it twice, and would never use it again, I couldn’t even return it. Cover Girl’s foundation that I’ve been using for 40+years works better.
I invest more in the rest of my face, Clinique cleansers, and face cream , quality lipsticks and other makeup that has been tested tried and true, but foundation? No. Cover Girl works just fine, thank you.

I love the chaotic, confident color-match choices. I would be still standing there making at least 3-4 swatches to make double/triple sure that product i buy will match me.... meanwhile Jen "hmm that looks like a match (looking at the packaging), i will take that" I am in AWE! I'm not from the US but drugstore makeup has gotten kinda expensive lately here too...such a boomer.
Very glad you bought the brown pencil and mascara. After hitting my 40s, I've found that moving away from solid black around the eyes is a far more flattering look. It's also been really fun experimenting with blue, purple and green mascaras, because they don't show up in a jarring, campy way; rather, they give a softer look as compared to the typical black.
Same same same! I have green eyes and burgundy mascara/liner makes them pop in ways black could never!
This! I am hitting my 40s and yes, been using brown eyeliner for years because it's so much less harsh but still accentuates the eye.

I really hate ulta at target tbh. I have been to two different targets in 2 different states very far apart and i have the same feedback for target. A) it makes the target cluttered and the display stands are annoying and i cant find anything. B) the ulta moves other departments at the target and makes other sections of the store more cluttered as well because they have the same amount of product and less space. C) the ulta has reduced products as a stand alone store and they dont stock the stuff i buy at ulta so i have to order online anyways.
Jen, talking yourself off the ledge after spending more money than she planned on is so relatable! Also, your hair doesn't look that greasy. Don't worry about it! And hopefully brown mascara will become a thing because black brown is not a real brown mascara and brown mascara is so flattering on so many different people.

I love brown eyeliner for this reason. Black is way too harsh while brown is more natural. I have a neutral to yellow undertone and tan quite easily.

No shame in that. I "watch" some videos more than once as a balm against my insomnia. Jen, as well as The Welsh Twins, Evie(long hair pretty nails), Robert E Fuller(nature artist and conservationist), they're on a playlist so I can relax. I put on my headband headset, a blackout mask, and listen to videos. Even if I don't wind up actually sleeping, I'm at least not uptigtht awake scrolling on the net.

Friends went to the US recently and couldn’t believe your prices are as high as Europe now, we always got great bargains in US but it has all evened out now. The cost of living in 2023 is high all around the world. She traveled from NY to Michigan LA and Hawaii very lucky girl but spent a fortune. But she had a great time and the people she met were amazing.

I was in Washington DC last Friday and visited the 14th Street Target. They had an Ulta but every cabinet was locked except for the trial sizes. So I ended up going to the regular beauty section and bought an Elf glow blush, and a Revolution liquid blush. I can only assume due to concerns with theft everything was locked up, but that makes it a pain to get someone to unlock makeup you want to look at.

The brow pencil being the wrong shade and the mistake with the brow pen is giving me an idea to repurpose an horrendously wrong shade brow pencil as an eyeliner!
My sons favorite cheese sticks aren’t easy to find, but Land o Lakes makes a mean cheese stick! We used to order them online and you could only buy 250 at a time. It was a very interesting summer when he got 250 cheese sticks in the mail.
Hi Jen! Ulta at Target employee here! We follow Ulta return policy on the products purchased at Ulta (as long as there’s 50% of the product & you have the receipt we take the return). For the drugstore side, TYPICALLY they’ll except the return as long as you have the receipt and you aren’t taking advantage of the policy (i.e returning a ton of products at once). I always tell people to return the products if they don’t like it because you’ll most likely toss it in the trash. By law at target was have a strict policy when disposing of products in order to protect the environment (we bag it up and it gets sent for destruction in the most environmentally conscious way). If you ever have any questions Jen, feel free to message me!
The KVD contour is GEL - Hence the softness of the formula. Comparatively GEL moisturizers don't pack the same punch as a LOTION moisturizer, or cream. This gel contour would probably work well for youngsters or more mature skin, offering a much needed Softness😉🥰

The it cosmetics regular CC creams always worked well for me so I tried this one when it was on sale at Ulta and I absolutely hated it also!! so insane that it’s 50 bucks!!

I'm so glad you decided to try a Morphe palette. I know a lot of people hate on Morphe eyeshadow palettes, and although I don't care for their shimmers shadows, but the mattes 😊😊😊 I love. They perform great. They blend pretty well and they last all day on me. ❤

I’m shouting at the screen about morphe lol but you know what I’m glad it worked out! So many people love the IT CC cream! I’m shook that you didn’t like it on first impression. Honestly, that concealer was such a fail I wonder if layering it on top was the problem. But I love these types of videos! It really showcases your personality! So excited for F&F for more thoughts ❤
The CC cream in that shade always goes orange on me and in 4 hours it has separated and looks a hot mess. We cannot return cosmetics here so mistakes are expensive. (Dry, very mature skin) used to love the Dior but reformulation doesn’t cover my dark patches now, here we go again on a mission for foundation, story of my life. 😂😂😥

I had a really fun time shopping with you!! The morphe 2 palette made a beautiful eye look and so did the brown eye liner (brow product) The brown mascara is great for a no makeup/makeup day. My opinion on some of the other products... I think you should absolutely return the overpriced crap cc cream, exchange the dark brow product for a lighter one and exchange the contour for a darker shade or return it all together. I know you don't usually return makeup and makeup is your job but I think you have as much right to return crappy products as the rest of us. Some of the products that didn't work were very expensive,too expensive for the result.
The KVD product is a contour gel. It’s going to have different pigmentation than a bronzer. Bronzer= warmer. Contour = cool.
I use the KVD contour and love it. Hope it works for you.
I LOVE this video!! It was SO much fun to go to Target w/u. That part kinda reminded me of Dr.Dre’s vlogs where she goes into Target or Walmart or wherever & kinda does quick takes on all the skin care products there. I think that wld be SO fun if you occasionally did a version of that. Like, quick takes (opinions) of the stuff at your Ulta or local drugstore. 😃🥰

One other thing. Once your area has had the Ulta in the Target things are in stock more. Ulta and Target learn what is liked. Plus the newness is over.
10:53 Story of my whole shopping life! I don’t know how I immediately knew your guess was way too low yet when I’m doing the shopping, I never think I’ve spent as much as I have😅
I use the Lancome lash idole mascara, and i always have to open it and let it sit for a week or two before i use it cuz itll be too wet. Then with the Rare Beauty mascara, it gives WAY too much product so i have to scrape off all the excess product before i start using it, and i use my Grande lash comb seperator (which btw is WAY better than the more affordable versions! They look the same, but the Grande lash comb has the combs slightly further apart, so it doesnt pull on your lashes like the more affordable versions do. Also with the more affordable versions, the little bars will fall out of the comb after a few weeks or months, depending on how often you use it.) And i really like it, but it does dry up faster than other mascaras ive had. I love the Lancome mascara, but not brand new, its just way too wet
the Targets where I shop, don't have cup holders.....but all the wheels work on every cart! so I'm happy :)

The Elf mascara was better the 2nd week. Also, you're supposed to use the heavier side to get the product on then the other side to comb through. Hope that helps.

speaking as someone who is familiar with Sephora @ Kohls, the shared brands probably aren't going to be shoved into the Ulta department mostly due it having a certain upcs (depending on their sales system). i know for my store when it was changing for Sephora, items where either transferred to another store that wasn't getting a Sephora, or item needed to be reticked with a new proper upc for Sephora. because technically we weren't carrying it anymore. it was such a messy way in the beginning of that process.

Hey Jen the KVD gel contour is best used with a really dense brush, tap on to the skin with that is deffo best rather than the rubbing it in or using a sponge. I love mine!

Spending on bad product cost me a fortune, I buy one nice thing every few weeks and have a beautiful collection of products I love. Just have to learn how to use them 😂😂 and I spend less but my granddaughters are not happy, no more freebies.

Wow! I was really surprised at how the IT Cosmetics Nude Glow performed for you, it’s my ABSOLUTE favorite base at the moment (I have dry-ish skin). I just don’t set it with powder and rely on my setting spray for longevity 😄

The ulta in target has saved me a trip on one occasion, i needed tights and mascara and was able to get both but other than that situation, i wont casually shop the ulta section.
I always buy high end makeup brands though so maybe it's more for people who buy drugstore to get into high end but idk

Yes you can exchange or return your products. I just returned the Peter Thomas Roth firming cream, absolutely horrendous product. They told me as long it has 1/2 the product left & within the return date your good.

I am giggling so much over you being mad at liking the Morphe palette! Thank you for taking one for the team on that It Cosmetics foundation. I have to admit I was tempted by that one, but your review has helped me remember that the foundations I've tried from them always look very textured on my skin and have WEIRD undertones to boot.

Id love to see a face full of indie brands! Id suggest Adept Cosmetics for the eyeshadow, and Kikiz Cosmeticz for lipgloss. But her glosses are more sheer, so if you prefer pigmented glosses, then id suggest her cream blush sticks. So so beautiful!
This video really helped me because I watched your application and it was not perfect. Some things were a little different between the sides, or too much or too little ……. And you looked lovely. I am very very non confident in my application and now I feel like even an experienced person can make mistakes ……. And look fine! Also application is hard for me because without my glasses I’m very visually impaired which makes for a lot of guesswork. So thank you for helping me feel better! 💜💜💜

The roller liner is amazing so def get that when you get a chance. I wasn’t a fan of the Nude Glow personaly, but it’s great for dryer skin imho. But I do want to try the eyebrow pen 🤣 I’ve been loving the Nyx Lift and Snatch pen! Oh and that ELF roller lash is AMAZING! I love it so much!

i loathe going to ulta in my target. i have to get another thread concealer soon, because it’s AMAZING, and it’s affordable!!! i love my kvd modcon gel bronzer when i want a more subtle bronzer/contour, but you can’t just use a couple dots with the product. i think if you try it again and use more, i think you’ll love it, but i have a deeper/cooler shade as well, jen. i think your eyeshadow came out really pretty. i was gifted a neutral morphe palette recently and it’s actually pretty good. i reallllly want to try the urban decay vice lip bonds!!! 💜💜💜

In my opinion, the benefit roller liner in brown is the best. Their black one sucks. No idea why theyre so different but definitely try the brown!
Deep brown liner and mascara softens your look….. especially when we age …… not as harsh looking ……. Adds “glow”
The "eyeliner" has a weird color to it. When you did the wing, it seemed to be a red brown and now it looks green brown on your eyes. It would be interesting to see how it would look in the brows as intended.

I got the KVD contour recently, I am light/medium but ended up getting the darker shade and glad I did! The darker shade is much better
