I think if the Maybelline ad had been real there would have been hundreds if not thousands of pictures/videos of the props on the buildings and transport vehicles that random people would have taken on that day flying around the internet.
It was the sound for me. That little "whoosh" sound it made was too perfect to be real!

When I was a consultant for Pampered Chef, they would take a product, “discontinue” it for a season, then bring it back as “new”. Sometimes it would be redesigned, sometimes not. I think this is happening in the Beauty Space as well. That is why some “new” products are not really new.

I think the Maybelline ad was genius. 12 my favorite mascaras that I used together is by Maybelline, the falsies and sky high.

Before buying Britney Spears’ new fragrance, make sure the proceeds go to her directly and not the people who kept her in an illegal conservatorship stealing her money. She may not own her fragrances intellectual property.

She’s out of the conservatorship now so the $ goes to her estate and can’t be stolen by her father.

I don't know about the money issue with her fragrances, but she seems to be far removed from them. When For The Record came, there's a scene where the guy over the perfume was explaining to her the feel of the fragrance and what they were going for. The bottle, the ad and scent was already done. She was smelling it for the very first time right there, and she gave no input. She only said, "I like it".

Cybersecurity expert here!!! I can provide some insight as well. They’re required, by law, to notify anyone of breached information. When they don’t notify those by law they can be fined, quite heavily.
Sounds like the cyber gang attacked and gained access to Estée Lauder through a third party breach. (BitSIGHT actually takes care of this and is a solution to this).
And YIKES that Estée Lauder didn’t fix the breach?!?! Their cybersecurity must be in shambles. Don’t be surprised if they hire a CISO.
They’re required by law to notify people. And shutting off a network won’t solve a problem. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 it just prolongs it.
Can I ask how long is a reasonable length of time for a breached company to notify you that you were affected? If the attack happened may 31, when would you expect them to be able to share the names by?
@@beckychamp8508 by law - and depending on the state - it’s 7 days, or 10 days. But again that depends on the state laws, etc. some are different.

Insurance agent here - their cyber liability insurance company has likely taken control of this - when you have ransomware the carrier and typically fbi also are involved
After it’s over the carrier then transitions to prevention and reputation repair.
Then they will follow federally required notifications to victims (employees customers etc)
They can’t announce things against the insurance companies wishes or claim can be denied.
I'm glad someone who is knowledgeable about the situation. I hate to hear a bunch of assumptions and fear mongering amongst people don't know how businesses work.

I wrote right away on that video that the Maybelline was CGI. It’s very trendy right now. The fashion brand Jacquemus did it before Maybelline with their famous bags as public transportation in form of a bus. Like a bus bag. It was quite genius.

The Maybelline bus/train ad is super cute. A better take on ‘is it real or is it fake’ concept than Lashgate.
The MoveIt breach also affected Johns Hopkins Medicine where I work and am a patient. I was one of the affected people.
oh no i only use estee lauder ! sorry its the brand i have used since i was 16 yrs old ,i left home to start my nursing career and my mum bought me skin care and a basic makeup kit , and she paid for my replacements until i qualified 7 yrs later when i got my degree. and have used it ever since. i think the maybelline ad is brilliance!!!

Even if that mascara ad would be cheaper to make real than digital it would be way too much trouble and too risky for public safety especially in a highly concentrated area like London. We are not that dystopian yet

Beyonce lauched her first perfume in 2012 ish.. it was an orange bottle, the original heat. It smelled great but didn't last long on the skin.

That Maybelline ad was so cool! Regardless of whether it was real or digital, I think their marketing team did a fantastic job coming up with such a fun and interesting ad campaign. Definitely going to follow the animator, Ian, on social media now. His work is incredible and I personally really love that this ad was digital since it actually was a more sustainable and less wasteful way to go about things since there aren’t any wasted props of mascara brushes and lashes, and this would’ve been far less disruptive to people’s commutes since I’d imagine executing something of this scale would require permits from the city of London, having to shut down that one part of the street to successfully place the mascara brush and possibly delay certain trains in order to place the mascara brush in the tube. Absolutely loved this ad and I hope to see more brands embracing something so creative and that other brands will start seeing that they don’t have to rely on drama or controversy to garner attention.

I collect perfume and eyeshadow palettes. Britney’s midnight fantasy is one that’ll always be in my collection. It’s so inexpensive on fragrance net && it lasts forever. I also love the smell. So, it’s always in the mix with a ton of other stuff. Highly recommend if you like a plum, vanilla, ambery scent.

I am super disappointed in the PML palette. This is coming from a girl who LOVES pink eyeshadow and wears it almost every day. She is getting boring with all of the pink releases!
Me too but I think the Star Wars relaunch of midnight sun killed the brand for me.
Also they have a 30 day product guarantee- I have run into many many issues with pml products so I just can’t justify the price anymore.

You can tell the Maybelline ad was fake because not one person looked up at the display or was taking pictures. Everyone was walking like it wasn't there...because it wasn't. They do these type of videos all the time in Dubai.
As for Estee Lauder...I think it's best to stay quiet and not say anything else publicly so the hackers won't know what the team knows for sure. Sometimes it's best to not say anything or it may cause more damage. Since it wasn't the customer's database hacked, EL should just inform the employees & companies with those details. Not everything needs to be publicized.

I worked for a public institution that was on the receiving end of a ransomware attack last year, and they weren't able to share anything about it while it was being investigated (a very long process). It was very stressful on the leadership, but their legal team would not let them say a thing other than a vague acknowledgement that it happened!

Hey, so I don’t know if you are allowed to say this or not, but I kinda wish you would mention that although you make a small commission if someone uses your links, it does not result in them paying more for the product they want. I don’t see anyone pointing this out and I feel like it would put more minds at ease if it was said. I had a friend balk at the idea of using a link to a product that was an affiliate link because they didn’t want to pay more money for the same item just to support the CZcamsr she was watching. When I told her that the product is the same price and there weren’t any hidden fees she was super surprised. I think potentially a lot of people don’t know this. Just a thought it might be worth mentioning.

Is it just me or is the theme of “nostalgia” seems like where make up trends are going now. I’m seeing the return of barbie, bright pinks, ultra glittery eyes products, lip products that resemble lip smackers lip rollers, fruity lip products like Bonne bell had?…This made me think how the way we do our makeup has changed over the decades. This made me reflect on my early teen years and how I did my makeup vs how I do my makeup now. The main difference was that I do not recall using any primers or setting sprays to enhance the longevity of a product. I remember never using a primer for my eyeshadows-those horrible drugstore non-pigmented powder shadows were a pain to build on. I remember the only way to get good shadows was to splurge and get a high end one at Macys. Lol……. Now that we have eye primers-do you think that this is a game changer for companies to not make such a “good” product since they can simply say, “prime your lids” prior to applying shadow? Is a truly “good” shadow is one that does NOT need any primer? (Therefore, worth splurging on?) Have companies got more lenient on their quality by relying us to use a good primer instead of making a good, stand-alone product? (Face and eyes). My teenager self is thinking-the way to determine to splurge on a products is whether or not it’s going to last and look good (despite using primers since it was not widely used back then). Am I just being too critical to think that high, expensive products should perform well without primers? If we are paying a lot of money on premium products, shouldn’t we NOT have to use primers?

I really wish they would have gone more sunset-y with the Naruto palette with shades of orange and red with some blue and pink thrown in. Naruto himself is such a strong character, you can't just boil him down to one measly orangey gold and think that's it.

I looked up the potato head release and I have a question: are brands just allowed to post example before and after photos of how your skin texture MIGHT improve while using their product without disclosing that they aren't real results? They have a very funny before and after on Mrs. 🥔's skin, but no disclaimer that it's a rendering, and it made me wonder if the example on human skin is just an example of potential results as well...
I bought Beyoncé's True Star gold edition again because I dropped it years ago.
I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen more disney collabs for the 100 yr anniversary. That was what the Narato (or whatver) palette made me think. I was kind of expecting Colourpop to give us a palette for every Disney Princess out there. I'm a bit disappointed in them. It gave me hope I'd see palettes for less covered princesses, like Jasmine.
I'm wondering if Sigma will do a disney collab again this year. My gut has been saying Belle is due. I could see Aurora as well because she is really popular. I'm hoping for Ariel or Jasmine though. I love a good mermaid theme and they have been popular this year. I think a Jasmine (or Aladdin) palette could be so fun though.

Try your Beyoncé perfumes, Jen! I mean...don't spray them on you until you know they don't smell old but try and see if they're still good. the maybelline ads should have credited the artist! that would have solved the mystery immediately and also given him his due credit. so much content these days gets made, edited, etc. and not all the people working on it get credit. it's pretty disheartening.
