I no longer do Scentbird, as the new component doesn't stay locked and leaks like crazy. If I could put them into the tons of older holders I can't bring myself to toss, I would.
When I did there was this Rose scent from Le Labo, and I think a Tea scent of theirs, and this Blood Orange scent that I can't remember the perfume house that was rather masculine leaning(which means it probably was a guys scent, but I liked it😹🎻), but so good.
Peach Milk tastes something like Peaches and Cream, though I haven't had it since before kiddo was born because Peaches and I are no longer friends, and Peach flavoured/scented stuff is just blergh now.
I used to have it with Summer Porridge(Sometimes called Fridge Oats). Blueberry Milk is absolutely amazing.
The best way to get a point across about one not liking a collaboration is to not buy the product, and to not hype it up.
Negative press is still press, and sad to say, but eBay scalpers will buy out stock of something that has drama surrounding it to drive up demand, as well as allow them to resell it at insane prices, and often has the result of a brand collaborating with this person again because "Oh look, there must be some demand for it, let's do another."

In another video, Mikayla also said that she didn't want a nude with pink undertones, then releases a lipstick with pink undertones. Maybe she changed her mind but collabs just don't happen overnight. Her idol was always JH, so it's not surprising everything she does is very calculated.
I don't know how JH still has fans, and it's the same with Mikayla. I guess it's no surprise she'd mimic JHs career.

To be fair we learned from Marlena how long production of a product takes…. So it’s very possible ELF was in collaboration way before the mascara gate and by that point they already had a bunch of product (and a signed contract) and even if they didn’t want to still had to release it.
I was coming to say this these things are a year or 2 years out.

This is exactly why I’ll not stop buying from Elf, even though I won’t buy the collab. They likely couldn’t back out by that time.
Those sales tricks are as old as Cabbage Patch Kids, Tickle Me Elmo(and probably older). They didn't invent it, they just got notoriety for doing it.
No one actually cares about the mascara thing. It's just another whine point.
First of all, just because a product sells out on launch day does not mean they sold many units. elf as well as Mikayla did not disclose how many units were sold for a reason… Also, the people that dislike her dislike her for obvious reasons, which could be because she’s constantly raving about products and people don’t know if she’s being paid to or not. She is fine to do whatever she likes with her career, her social media, her life, and not everyone will like everything she does. Secondly, when you lose the trust of your consumer, it’s hard to earn that back. Lastly, as someone who likes collabs, I think there are so many more influencers worthy of collabs but they’re constantly passed over because they don’t have a large enough following. That’s such bs, imo, because indie brands collab with influencers all the time and they do incredibly well. These mainstream brands need to get with the program and start thinking about niches and reputation for the long run, not just in the short-term because they want to make quick profit. I will say after trying their latest lip balm launch I’m taking a break from elf because the one I tried did not work for me.

That sales trick has been around since the Cabbage Patch Kid(and probably before them, but that was the biggest one from my youth that came to mind).
Bashing the "influencer" is just drumming up more attention. Hit them in the wallet, and lack of dramatic sales and requests for restocks would tell them people aren't excited for it.
Probably a controversial opinion but just like with food makeup can only get so good and only get so original. And large corporate companies like elf are absolutely aware of that. How many times can you reinvent the wheel?
@@JH-kw8zy Not controversial at all. Companies realize there's a generational cycle with products. Something I noticed is everything from the 90's and first decade of the 2000's is cool again because marketers are reintroducing the same items from these decades to sell again because they're "vintage." In a way, a "dupe" is a repackaged existing product that has been redesigned or had its formula updated to make more similar to another existing product, which is why people compare it to the already existing one. It helps if it's more affordable because more people who couldn't afford that one now can try and see what the hype of the "original" might be like. As consumers, we care about value because most products (more often than not) are not necessities, we want them, so we tend to justify purchases based on price point. As beauty enthusiasts, we like to "test" and promote products that work for more people, which is why so many people like e.l.f., because more people can afford their products and it's available online and at so many brick-and-mortar stores. And the "dupe" can bring more attention to the "original" product, so if a dupe isn't as good more people might try that one... there's a reason why so many psychology majors go into marketing, it's all about studying and influencing purchasing behaviors.
@@danicee What I meant was more everything's already been done and there's no more creative choices to be made. There's no more new products to make. And especially being a mainstream company they have so many limitations that if you think about it we already have all the cute brands we have all the overly modern brands we have all the futuristic brands we have all the classic brands there are no new ideas. So they're not going to waste money on promoting lesser known creators when the actual product that they're making is one of very limited new ideas.
I mean, I suspect the reason that people were leaving “I won’t support” comments to ELF and not MN is… if you don’t support her, you don’t follow her channel? But you may use ELF products and want to let the company know that NOPE, you’re not interested in products from a fake liar. 🤷🏼♀️ At the same time, she has a lot of fans - so they’re going to tell ELF how they feel when they can’t get what they want. 🤷🏼♀️

i won’t support mikayla’s endeavours but i feel like elf is taking too much flack for this collab. when this all began, it was likely long before all of her recent controversies. i understand if the shade of the lip kit isn’t inclusive either. but it’s just a limited edition drop and nobody needs to buy it it they don’t want to.

Outrage is as good an advertisement as a superior product. Better in a way because both people who love and hate her are watching her close for her next misstep so the amount of eyes on product is guaranteed.

People were trying the mascara before her and I’ve seen so many people, every day people, post about the same mascara and how much they love it or don’t love it.
So love her or hate her…L’Oréal has made a Poo ton of money off the mascara.
People that believed it, they tried it. People that didn’t believe it tried it to prove her wrong. So either way the company still won and people are still talking about it.

Fruity milks are a thing. Binggrae is a Korean brand that has strawberry, banana, and melon (honeydew) flavorń my favorite is the melon.
There's another brand from Taiwan that has peach, papaya, and apple. I'm a fan of all three flavors, but probably the apple and peach more than papaya.
Definitely one of those things we recommend to try before knocking it. If it ain't chocolate milk I'm drinking, it's coffee or a fruity milk.
It's not a big step from horchata or even fruit kefir. People need to open their culinary minds 😊

They do make Peach Milk! There is a local place here in Arizona called Danzeisen Dairy and they sell their milk in glass bottles, can recycle those and just a really great family owned company. They make Cold Brew Coffee milk, Root Beer milk, Arizona Orange Milk, Peach Milk, Banana milk and Cotton Candy Milk! Along with the usual choco and strawberry and whole 2% etc. Honestly some of the best milk I’ve ever had!

I've tried a few e.l.f. things here and there, primers, concealer, brushes. Most were ok, concealers were fails. Whoever they collab with would never be a draw for me, nor a source of disgust. Can't get emotionally invested much in a brand that works meh for me.
Mikayla is “entertainment”. Her business is her personality. She does what she does to make money. Period.
It makes sense. Garbage entertainment calls for a garbage personality.

I won't buy the Mikayla collab but I will continue to buy ELF skin care products, they are just so good and so reasonably priced. The Holy Hydration line has been my saving grace recently since I'm on a strict budget and can't afford Murad or Tatcha or other high end skincare.
There are some affordable K-beauty brands, and skincare brands that are good and reasonably priced. Cassandra Bankson has videos on quality skincare on a budget if you're thinking of switching.
I won't buy it for myself because I don't like a nude look. My daughter wanted it but it was already sold out. Besides, I find MN very entertaining and talented.
I had no idea who Mikayla is and I don’t wear really light lipsticks. I had no idea there was a whole “controversy” about her. She’s not my cup of tea but she seems pretty mild compared to other “problematic” influencers. I’ll continue to buy ELF.

elf probably already had stock made of this lipstick (or well down that path) before mascara-gate and it was too late to give up on it. seems like sales still worked out for them but it is disappointing.
The new Huda Beauty mascara looks exactly like Wet N Wild mascara packaging in my opinion. Weird. And if you're seeing that much clumpiness in promotional photos after supposedly only one coat, I'm afraid of what a mess it would make on my three short, straight eyelashes 😳

I think people get way too caught up, passionate, sensitive and serious over some of the craziest things.. If you don’t like something don’t buy it.. If you don’t like someone don’t watch them.. Benefit launched the brow oil because they offer laminations at their Brow Bars and a part of the lamination after care is oiling the brows! Anyone that gets a lam is instructed to oil the hairs once a day because lams weaken the hairs and can dry them out and make them brittle. Brow oil is really nice for people who get lams!

I bought 3 KKW palettes for roughly $10 each when they were closing. I’m indifferent to Kim, but I have really enjoyed the palettes. The formula was decent and I really liked the color stories. Mikayla is obnoxious. That said, I really like that L’Oreal mascara. The fake video from her was completely unnecessary-it’s a legit good product.
I don’t particularly like/dislike Mikayla but I loved the color of the lipstick. I was trying to place an order for 25 minutes (starting 6 mins before official launch time). I got an error every time. 4 charges on my credit card, and 3 order confirmation emails that came through half an hour later. Turns out, they had an issue “processing” my orders so I’m not getting the lipstick after all 😢 The launch was a disaster!

elf messed up BIG time. To do a collab with an influencer of that magnitude & not be prepared for it is just negligent. They triple charged people, cancelled orders & their website crashed so many times. Really crappy for those that wanted to support her.
I would probably buy the Kraft Mayo set as a gag gift. I think a lot of these odd scent cosmetics are like the stuff you used to be able to find at Spencer's gifts. I would totally buy the ranch soap to prank a friend! But I would never buy any of them to use for myself. They're fun novelties. Which is probably why most of them have limited runs. I cannot imagine anyone purchasing them more than once.
I will still buy from elf, lol, there are a LOT more important things online to worry about. like colleen ballinger ew.

Influencer marketing is never going away because of the para social relationships creators have with their fans and how it psychologically influences them. When I watch WUIM every Sunday morning it feels like I'm catching up with a friend so whatever you say, I'm more influenced by than if it was a celebrity or model. Same goes for Mikayla

Aww man i just got the concealer would have waited for the foundation if I knew but no wonder why I couldn’t find the previous foundation I was going to buy as I am almost done.

I got a rare beauty eyebrow pencil and gel in my boxy a few months ago and I LOVE it! Unfortunately it's being discontinued to make room for the new brow product. I was able to snag a few and I'm excited to try the new one

I can definitely see the brow conditioner being useful! For whatever reason my eyebrows get so dry. Sometimes even flake. I always try to apply mommy moisturizer but doesn’t really help. May be because my moisturizer is too thick so it just creates a layer on top of my brow hairs.
Actually it sounds like you have seborrheic dermatitis of the eyebrows, which is common. Lay off the moisturizer, which will only feed the yeast that causes the condition. Instead, try applying a dandruff shampoo just to your eyebrows (careful not to get into your eyes) and let it sit there for 2-5 minutes before rinsing it off

The brow so soft is more like a brow conditioner. I have the unruly brows of a 90 years old man. I have a heck of a time keeping them in place cuz they are curly to boot. Sometimes I just have to look crazy. Those brave enough to comment get ‘oh you haven’t seen the new trend on tik tok!?’ I don’t have tik tok 😈 I’m evil😂😂
I love the smashbox studio skin foundation. It is honestly one of my faves so I’ll def try the new foundation eventually.
I really like ML! I don't mind all the drama cause she's just entertaining- and she is talented. There are so many influencers that outright lie ( and they're not cute not entertaining but want you to know what they only like/wear)but I enjoy ML knowing she's just fooling around with all sorts of makeup, just having fun. And no, I don't buy what she uses or hang on her every word. I just enjoy it for what it is- YT. Just entertainment and maybe a bit envious of her skills
I have never watched or listened to even one of her videos. Nails on a chalkboard. IMO her wedding is one big PR party and probably all sponsored.
Shroud mattes are tied for top-tier quality, for me. They're SO GOOD. I still bring the Creepy Cute palette with me everywhere, and it's always within reach, even if I'm not using any of the brights in it... Because that matte black is the best in my collection.
Even if I'm doing really basic, understated makeup, I still use that black on a push liner brush to tightline. Plus, I'm obsessed with pastels and pastel-brights, and, again, Shroud's are the best.
I'm waiting for my Pastel Garden palette, still. Hoping the mattes are just as good. 😊

I figure elf started that collab a while ago and if they did they were not going to lose the money and cancel , especially since some people either won’t know her and the others who support her don’t care. I can’t even handle her voice, the other stuff was the icing on the cake… I love a nude lip but nope but to whoever wants to can and should it’s their money .

I agree, the Huda mascara does look cheep. Idk what they were thinking when coming up with that packaging. As for the mascara, it’ll be a no for me. I avoid clumpy, volumizing mascara as my lashes have enough volume. I’ve still yet to find one that just adds curl and length without smudging or wearing off:/

I was told by my brow girl when I had my lamination done that the process could dry out my brows and recommended I get Argan oil and run it through my brows with a spoolie. It makes sense that they are releasing a hydrator since they do laminations

Smashbox has some of my favorite products! I've been through 3 tubes of the cream ro matte lipstick in the shade stepping out. I also love their primerizer spray- its so great for powder foundation lovers. And i have gone through several of the contour kits. Its kind of like tarte. No one talks about it but they have some great holy grail products.
