How To: Here I replace a driver front wheel bearing on a 2007 Honda Accord 2.4l 4 cylinder automatic transmission. I don't have a shop press but I've found this method to be fairly easy. Obviously a press would be ideal but I'm working with what I have here.

This a is shorter, more condensed version of this video, but still with all the essential information! Thank you for taking your time to watch my video!
This is the only helpful video I've really found on how to do this. I appreciate all the small detail explanations, as well as how to do it without a press
The attention to detail and even gong a above and beyond to look out for your customer is great. I actually enjoyed this, keep doing good work man!
Great video! Thanks so much. Tackling this for the first time, so this is extremely helpful!
This definitely helped for my 06 AcuraTL thank you very much 😊
Glad you got it done bud, I did it this way too, but then I invested 70 bucks on a wheel bearing kit from amazon... totally worth it and way easier
Great video! I especially like the idea of freezing the bearing.
Extremely well done video! Very helpful.
This will definitely help me on my 04 accord! i appreciate it my man!
very detailed, thx! crazy a ball came out of that bearing
Sir u do work the right way ,good job
Nice video, friend. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
it goes into my favorites bucket. Thanks.
id say this videos near perfect-no external variables... Because these wheel bearings rarely come out and go in that easy without pressing! Cool!
Thank you for this awesome video. I just bought two new wheel bearings for my 2004 accord 6 speed Coupe. And I was wondering if I could just throw the bearings in the freezer. Here I was ready to spend hundreds of dollars in tools. But it looks like simple tools will work if you're smart
Great video
Very good. A good air hammer would save on your joint and go much faster. Just wear ear protection.
A great video. Thanks a lot.
Good demo
Very helpful!
Thank you!
Thank you very much!
I can't believe you didn't rip out the insides of the new bearing, hammering the hub in the way you did.
probably did..you're supposed to have support behind the inner race when driving the hub in so it absorbs the force from the hammer or press..common sense really.
Miracles happen every day! I'm proud to announce that I have a press now rofl
You're helping a lot of us out, thank you! What brand of wheel bearing did you use or would recommend? I'm trying to avoid the $80 OEM ones
I just use the ones from the parts store.
you can take off the hole caliper bracket in one peace. in that way you save alot of time. i used to take of both part but to save time and work i take off the hole unit
This video helped me out alot. Very good. It's a long video, but it takes a while to do the job. U didn't really use any special tools which is cool.
Awesome, glad I could help
Good job
Not my best work, but thank you
@@hondaresource yeah but i will do this once i get the parts my accord is a 07 3.0 model and i hate rusted parts ive watched other vids on this and everyone has a different way of removing the hub your vid is the best
27:19 thought I had one beer too many🙃
Hey great video. It's going to help me a lot. If I don't have an impact, do you think I could just tap the new hub into the bearing with a hammer? Worried if bearings could take the hits or go through the spindle.
I've never tried it without an impact
Babbs....after you removed that steering knuckle, I noticed the lower horizontal control arm bushing was raising up allowing that lower control arm to hit the frame making clunk sound as u drive along in a daily commute, so what I'm saying is. that Honda will be back in for a lower control arm /bushing replacement pretty soon, due to a flaw design from Honda.✌👍
It's actually coming back in a week or two. I'm installing new lower control arms on both sides.
@@hondaresource cool... I have the same problem with my 03 Honda Element as well...getting that humming / roaring sound on the front right wheel, I'm going to order the wheel bearings & change them both at the same time.✌
Great vid! What lift is that? Should review it for us🙏🏽
It's a bendpak 6xp, I sold it a couple months ago and bought a 2 post lift
For non-professionals, you’re better off taking the entire knuckle/hub assembly to a machine shop with your new parts and having them do it. They have all tools, punches, & presses that make a frustrating experience painless
Does anyone know if the assembly includes the bearing? I dont have all the equipments to knock the bearings/housing out.
Nice vid
Red salute to you all the way from the uk
Is this the same for our accord then? I got a 2004 one
Do Subie with the Suburban Derek
Do you live in uk too?
The-elite-firm Tiger yeah, my front nearside is whining so I think its time I replace it 😕
Do Subie with the Suburban Derek
It’s pretty much the same set up mate,
Failing that,if you go onto ‘Honda Accord owners uk’ Facebook page there’s a lot of helpful people on there
you should use a slide hammer and a bearing tool set. but i like to watch to see alternative way to do it.
The tiny screws 'securing' the rotor are actually Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) #3. They look a lot like Phillips heads, but upon closer inspection, you'll note the differences.
I'm aware. Thank you for the info
Great video. Had no idea the hub/bearing assembly could pop out that easily.
Machines shop edge from inner spindle, risque of scratching the interior and create oxydation on longue terme, use press to remove bearing
Shouldn't the broken the ABS sensor also have been replaced ? . From what I can see it's only about a $15 to $20 part.
You might have also found a pair of "countersunk" (not pan-head) 6mm set screws to hold the brake disk onto the hub.
A good step-by-step demonstration on how to go about the wheel bearing replacement. Well done.
I think I subsequently replaced that sensor. He is a fairly good customer and the car has been back to the shop a couple times for different reasons since this video.
I NEED that lift!! lmao
It served me well for 3 years. I upgraded to a 2 post lift a couple months ago
Gyaad damn that boys good! merica!
I have 275k miles on my 04 accord still on the original wheel bearings
Nice!
I'm back and have not had a good experience with this. Followed all the guidelines and when I went to put the hub after putting in the bearing and the inner outside race came off the bearing and just blew apart. What did I do wrong? Did I hit the bearing too hard? Now the outside race is stuck in the housing and it is not budging AND I need to purchase a new bearing and put it in once I get the destroyed bearing out. Grrr. How fragile are these bearings? Should they really be hit to be put in? I think a press may be the way to go.
I've never had a single issue doing it as I demonstrated in this video. If I had a press, I would press them.
When pressing the hub into the bearing you need to support it by the inner race.... You can take the inner race out by hand...what makes you think the inner race won't come flying out as you attempt to push in the hub and it reaches the other half which isn't locked in by anything?
The video isn't bad... but it has a lot of NO-NO's in it...
Autozone Bearing - $60
Ebay loaded Steering knuckle with hub and bearing and ball joint , already pressed properly and ready to go - $90
I went with replacing hole knuckle, easier for somebody in a pinch that needs a new bearing , no specialty tools or little experience with pressing bearings
For sure
@@hondaresource good video , very clear and helpful
How's the quality of that loaded steering knuckle? I imagine they use cheap materials to keep cost low... Any issues after a year?
Are auto and manual the same size? I'm doing a swap so I need to know
I'm not 100% sure
You are not supposed to be holding the back of the inner race not to blow it out?
💪🏼🔥👍🏻
🤔 maybe we can freeze the spindle too and pull it out once we're ready to install it too.
No that defeats the purpose since the spindle will shrink too.
Slather anti-seize on every fastener and metal to metal mating surface.
Not that big of deal here. We don't have a lot of rust
How much does that lift you are using cost?
I paid 2k
What causes a wheel bearing to go bad?
I'm not sure. It's not super common, but it does occur.
Dang dont you have a bearing removal tool? I will not hammer my bearing like that. Tool is less than $80
I have a press now, I've done many bearings like the video demonstrates and never had an issue
I just got done Doing my bearings,. I have a Toyota Camry 2003 I did both sides. I used a press in and press out kit, the 1st time I did it it failed,🙁 on the driver side.the The car Runs smooth now.😎 they are very Touchy,,.. I do not recommend hitting them with a hammer.☠🔨💥 There's are better videos online ,they're very touchy, Warning..💥 thank you.
Why you look like Robbie Lawler
🤣🤣🤣
A lote blablabla, to long video..
I agree, I feel like my editing has improved since this was posted. My videos tend to be long due to being detailed.
@@hondaresource Maybe you can edit the video and that everything is understood the same. and that it is not very long, most people, as in my case, watch videos with 15 to 25 min. it is perfect
48 minutes video ..................................................................... bro
